PS What cashback card do you use for your retail spend? I'm assuming you MUST use one, given your recent posts on people who use the UW card?
Have you not got the message about diversionary tactics?
This thread is about UW - not about my spending habits.
If I say I use cashcard xxx, or no card, or I drive a certain car or invest in xxx then you have succeded in your aim of diverting the conversation away from UW.
You have to spend approx £6000 on your cashcard just to cover the extra money you pay UW for your gas and electricity.
P.S.
Not having ever been savaged by a dead sheep, I bow to your experience in these matters.0 -
How many people are 'average'?? My customers are a diverse lot, each with differing needs. Strange, they don't seem to fit into 'average', whatever that may be. I wouldn't call any of them 'average'. (What is this 'average' comsumption based on anyway, anyone care to enlighten me?) Up to now, everybody's requirements have been different. They're all different!
If this 'average' consumer is based on the traditional family of two adults, two kids, I can only think of one of my customers who fulfill this criteria. And they spend around £200 per week in Sainsbugs on groceries etc alone, giving them approximately 40 quid per month back on the cash back card or 480 quid per year, just on this retailer. He's a bit of a petrol head and spends a lot in Halfords on his collection of old cars. (Another 5% off retailer).
They also buy their petrol in Sainsbugs - he works all over the country wherever his employer decides to send him and she works for a bank, who see fit to transfer her at a moments notice to other branches. So, their cash back reduces their household expenditure quite considerably. They are also time starved so, everything on one bill/direct debit means they aren't constantly juggling funds to cover various expenses.
I have residential customers and business customers who are all saving money with UW, compared to their previous suppliers. Some have the cash back card, some don't. Some people don't like to hear this and ask me to prove it - I can't as I don't keep detailed records of my customers. However, if they weren't happy, I'm sure they would have pushed off somewhere else.
It's not my fault if they've been skinned by their previous suppliers. It's not my fault that UW offer something that is very attractive to a lot of people. I just show people what we offer. Then it's up to them.'The only thing that helps me keep my slender grip on reality is the friendship I have with my collection of singing potatoes'

If you mean how many customers would a person need to get paid commission equivalent to one's utility bill, I can't say because customers take different services and the commission for each one therefore varies too.

This thread is about UW - not about my spending habits.
As has been said before, this is a money saving site. I pay less to Utility Warehouse for my utilities than I would to any other company or combination of companies. I readily admit that this is because I use the pre payment card as it suits my own requirements. If it is right for me, it can also be right for many others who have similar needs, circumstances and wants to me.The mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.

However you made exactly the same claims before the introduction of the Cash Card.
You still have totally avoided the question about people(including yourself)getting gas and electricity from another much cheaper supplier and still having the cashcard with other UW services.
P.S I note no UW rep has answered if Broadband, phone and 2 pay-as-you-go phones counts as 4 services.0 -
hello squablers!! cardew no it would be 3 services as mobile counts as 1 regardless of numbers. hope this helps.

I ask again, what is 'average'and what criteria do they hold?'The only thing that helps me keep my slender grip on reality is the friendship I have with my collection of singing potatoes'

Welcome back Maz, you were missed in the sense that your posts are just about as nonsensical as those from keggs and make the AUWF’s work so much easier.
I don’t suppose you feel like clarifying your input in the last series of posts. Just to remind you:
Patman99 posted this nonsense and immediately got thanked by UW IDs.Originally Posted by patman99

First 200 units are at 19.6 p (to hide the £12.50 service charge), over that, its 13.4 p, with night rate being a flat 5p/unit. He claimed to be cheaper than my current supplier. I told him I pay 11.35p/unit dayrate & 3.5p/unit nights.
Despite being told he was talking rubbish, you posted this in support
=Mazpatman99 likes what he gets. He's seen his leccy bill.
I asked you this relevant question about UW and predicted(accurately) you wouldn’t answer. That is not in dispute, or the issue.
Justifying his choice with incorrect tariff rates - that might influence others - is all I challenged him about.
Now Maz instead of the generalities that you seem so keen to post, how about some specifics.
Do you believe patman99 is correct about what he pays?
You know tariffs inside out as every one of your customers apparently saves with you, so you must know about tariffs to work that out.
So come on, let us talk about UW tariffs for a change. Is it possible for patman99 to pay what he claimed?
What is the betting you won't answer?
You wait a few days and then post as above.
So how about a response, or will it be to tell me I am nasty etc!!0 -

For the average household using 3300kwh el & 20,500kwh gas, with phone/broadband & mobile, how much do you think you need to spend on the cashback card to get your energy at the average of the top 10 cheapest tariffs ?0
