Well Cardew has logged back in since uptomyeyeballs' last post so expect a response soon in this ongoing saga. Will he now just give his usual stock answer that he claims UW are just about the most expensive energy provider in the country.

The thing is Cardew, I attempted to make sure we were operating from the same list to start, but you flew off the handle before it was ever ascertained. I always had more entries on my list than you. I attempted to find out why, but you refused to do it. There was no attempt to hoodwink anyone. The list I posted a link to was the list I was looking at. You were clearly looking at a different one. Remember, you asked me for a link. What you put into your search criteria was obviously different to mine. As you've said previously, it's the relative position compared to UW that was the significant factor, not the actual £sd. The difference between 36th and 46th position is the princely sum of £6. I also said 'give or take'. In fact I said :

(a few quid either way may alter the exact position slightly)

I don't work in absolutes on things like this, it's pointless. You've proved yourself further up the thread that asking three different comparison sites the same question gives three different £sd answers.

Your paranoia on this is breathtaking really. All i'm trying to show is that UW is by no means 'just about the most expensive' at all, it actually sits better than half way.

Well at least you have admitted(sort of) that you were wrong.

You stated UW were in 36th position and You stated there were 118 below them.

I asked for a link to to verify your statement and the link you gave confirmed UW as 36th of 73 tariffs(and over 30% more expensive than the cheapest)

So by any way of looking at it you were completely wrong.

Subsequently, in an attempt to ridicule(can you count the tariffs!), you posted a completely different list. Predictably your leader jumped in with his inevitable puerile remarks.

The important issue, as you well appreciate, is that it doesn't matter if you take UW as in 36th position or 46th position, UW are over 30% more expensive than the cheapest tariff.

It is pertinent to point out that for your very low consumption that UW can appear as high as 36th on the list(something to be proud of?) but for the vast majority they are in 60th place or worse. For the UK average consumption they are usually in 67th position.

Note the reaction from your leader when your error was discovered. Just imagine his reaction if someone had made a similar error - if French and Saunders was a deliberate lie - how would he have classified your mistake?

Did I ever actually say my current supplier was Atlantic? I ran the report arbitrarily for them, but it doesn't really matter who you select, you told me that yourself further up the thread ('it's not about your current supplier' - remember?). It's the position of cheapest v. UW that counts.

So that is an Arbitary report is it? You are not actually with Atlantic? You selected Atlantic rather than the default companies.

Well how do you explain this?
The tariff I'm on is only 25p per month cheaper than UW, so no real difference

Now let me see! 25p a month is £3 a year. On your list UW are £476 and Atlantic are £473.

Now if my arithmetic is correct the difference is £3 or 25p a month cheaper than UW.

Your leader must be getting as embarrassed with your input as he is with Keggs!

You have the gall to accuse me of being two faced!
  • Cardew, you stated uptomyeyeballs was acting like an imbecile because he had the temerity to suggest the 73 listings on that switching site that you stated there were was actually much more than that. He then proceeded to post a link to PROVE that there were far more than the 73 you stated as the figure were actually showing. Given that you labelled him as 'acting like an embecile' for this and it's subsequently been proven that his figure was correct and your figure was wrong, how about doing the decent thing and apologising to uptomyeyeballs?

    Why abuse vinny?

It is exactly what happens on here time and again.

Look at the latest 2 episodes by uptomyeyeballs for perfect examples.

Not a word of criticism, only support, from the PUWF. Your leader chortling about the 'error'.

I have looked back over the past few days to try to find the usage figures this discussion is in regards to but there are a number of usage figures quoted. Could someone put the usage figures and region up again.

Of all the ridiculous posts you have put on this forum, this has to be the most stupid.

You have got it completely wrong - even uptomyeyeballs has admitted he had got it wrong.

He stated UW were 36th - and the link he originally gave they were indeed 36th of 73.

The subsequent link he posted was for a different list in which UW were not 36th. Now do you understand that - he posted a different list .

So all he 'has PROVED' is he had made an error. Which at least he has admitted - 'his people' must work quicker than 'your people';)

P.S. So it doesn't enter your folklore of Click 5 and UW standalone charge errors, I didn't state he was acting like an ebicile(sic) or imbecile.

I wouldn't want an apology from Cardew as it would be disingenuous anyway. If he so wants to be 'right' then let him have his way, I don't really care. My objective was showing that UW are not 'virtually the most expensive in the country' and that they sit just above half way in the list (his version of the list as well, actually). I think i've proved that, irrespective of whether he thinks my figures are wrong and whether my supplier is Atlantic or not ('it's not about your current supplier' - Cardew).

Any independent observer would easily make their own mind up. I feel I've tried to discuss it maturely, rationally and sensibly. He hasn't. His intense paranoia about all things UW is clouding his judgement. I can always make allowances for that I suppose. ;)

Absolutely - an Independent Observer would make up his own mind.

Would he think that you were with Atlantic at 25p a month cheaper or not? Are you not a bit embarrassed about that situation?

Would he not think that posting two different tables in an attempt to demonstrate I was wrong an error or deceipt? Are you not embarrassed about that?(I believe it was just an error)

Would he believe that in demonstrating that UW are over 30% more expensive than the cheapest tariff(on either table) that you have succeded in your objective to show that UW are not the most expensive.

You haven't tried to discuss it maturely, rationally or sensibly. Or if you tried - you failed!
  • UW are 7th in this list ;) Loads of companies/tariffs below them.

    Pointless Cardew, utterly pointless.

Let's leave it up to that independent observer to judge who the mature, rational, sensible one is here, eh?

    .
For once we are total agreement, both about it being pointless and the conclusions of an independent observer.
