I had a look yesterday and the cheapest tariff for me (using my reading for the last year) is now around £7.00 cheaper per month than UW, not a great saving, or enough to make me change my supplier. Though I may be convinced if Q would give me details of this other cashback card!
janninew,
You gave your very low consumption figures on this forum last month(5221kWh gas and 2513kWh electric)
Using those consumption figures for Lancashire, Energyhelpline shows that the cheapest Supplier is £140 a year cheaper than the cheapest UW tariff.
That doesn't equate to £7 a month.
Were you using gas units instead of kWhs again?
In any case your consumption(and hence potential savings if you switch away from UW) will increase after the happy event;)0 -
And where should we get this G & E from? Comparison sites are great for people who have the time and inclination to keep abreast of tarrif changes & cashback deals etc and switch on a regular basis (a while back I spent a few months checking periodically for the 'best deal' - there were at least 6 diferent best deals over that period, probably more).
For people who are not inclined to switch regularly but are willing and able to take advantage of UW club benefits, UW energy is no worse (and potentially better) than the rest.
UW distributor
All of the Big 6 have tariffs that are hundreds of pounds cheaper than UW for the average user. If you don't want to switch just stick with one of the BIG 6 internet tariffs - it may not be the absolute cheapest but it will always be £hundreds cheaper than the UW tariff.
Sticking with UW is an absolute guarantee that you will always pay the just about the most expensive gas and electricity prices in UK.0 -

You have gone strangely quiet on the Which? libel front mate? What happened did you realise that Which? didn't ring you up after all, and to avoid further embarrassment a fellow rep has asked you to back off?
I'm still waiting for an apology for the allegations you levelled against me.
Anything to declare yet?;)0 -

All I want is an apology that's all. If I accused a fellow MSE member of committing a serious offence, even turning informer (apparently;)), obviously with their best intentions at heart. Then when the allegations are proved false and without foundation, I would offer my humblest apologies. Be big enough....0 -
uptomyeyeballs wrote: »Really? When I checked the site the other day to confirm your findings, UW were in 36th place (a few quid either way may alter the exacty position slightly), behind the EDF Online v5 tariff you quoted as being cheapest. So, I agree they're not the cheapest.
THERE ARE HOWEVER 118 TARRIFS LISTED THAT ARE MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE CHEAPEST UW TARIFF. THE MOST EXPENSIVE IS CIRCA £200 MORE THAN UW.
Can you explain this please, based on your statement quoted above?
Thanks.
I am puzzled.
I use EnergyHelpline(which is the one recomended by Martin).
They list a total 68 tariffs. Which comparison website lists 154 tariffs please?(UW 36th and 118 tariffs more expensive than UW)
Can you tell me the site please.0 -
If you don't think
You made a false statement in those particular words. >>>(It sems having 50 is a crucial level in the uw mlm/pyramid operation to trigger more monthly payments).<<< You admitted that these were your words. Why give false information?
You claim to post on this thread for altruistic reasons but refuse to post the link to your Utility Warehouse pre payment card beating cashback card. Why is that?
Why is it that when two people have shown how they save money by being Utility Warehouse customers, you continue to state that others can not save money by being a customer?
Why is it that you continue call customers of Utility Warehouse "gullibles" when you have been informed that I find it personally insulting and abusive?

I certainly can appreciate the virtues of the cashcard if it suits your spending habits.
As to historical claims, Utility Warehouse did at one stage offer me the cheapest gas and electricity available. They might not do that now but I am happy using the pre payment card to reduce my utility bills. As has been previously stated on numerous occasions. I shop the way I want to and I am sure that there are a lot of other people in this country who either do, or, would not mind shopping in the same manner. The mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.

No, I was using the same figures as you have quoted and went onto USwitch, it stated that npower would be £87.12 per year cheaper than what I pay now. Why would my consumption increase if I changed supplier? I am frugal with my utilities and can assure you this wouldn't change!
I can assure you if I changed suppliers to npower it would be a seriously unhappy event!!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

According to one high profile uw member and rep with parrot tendencies (when posting here)
As you call me "a gullible" for being a Utility Warehouse customer, you know in a friendly manner, is it alright if I refer to you as "a bigot" the same way?

Well I have just been on 3 comparison websites with that information.
USwitch EDF £408.53 - UW £566.43 so UW is £157.90 - (38.7%) more
Energyhelpline EDF £409 - UW £549 so UW is £140 - (34.2%) more
Energylinx EDF £408.45 - UW £548.53 so UW is £140.08 - (34.3%) more
P.S.
You missed my point about your consumption increasing after the happy event in a few months!!! "I'm rather confused now, (I blame the pregnancy hormones!!)"0
