    Hi Mike by the Sea

A thoughtful answer which just echoes what I have said previously that people have to decide for themselves whether UW offers them something better in their own circumstances than any other company.

    To Alan & Charlton

It is difficult for UW distributors like myself, Choc and Mike by the Sea etc to answer your questions because although we are all customers we are also distributors. But if there is one piece of advice I can give you and that's to simply do what Mike said and decide what's important to you as a customer. Cardew and Quentin have their own take on UW. If you feel they are right then UW is probably not for you. If you are genuinely unsure the only way to find out if UW is right for you is to try out the services for yourself and I mean at least 3; better 4 as the company give you free landline calls 24/7 and now free global calls to 10 countries, 24/7. [That's not a plug - I'm stating a fact that's provable]. Only then can you make your mind up properly. Comparing charges is not the best way unless you are a rate chaser. UW is not the best on price, nor is it the worst. As Mike has said the company is unique in that it offers something different - that's probably the reason why some people can't hack it because they simply don't understand (or perhaps more accurately don't want to understand) what UW is about.

One last thought. The company have been around for 11 years now and are not about to fold (on the contrary). That is in my view reassuring as well both as a customer.and as a distributor.

    Hope that helps.

    Best wishes
    Steve

    To Cardew & Quentin

Alan & Charlton have asked for help. While we distributors do have vested interests we have tried our best to help without bias. But as usual you turn it into a personal attack. You're beginning to look ridiculous now. Give it a rest, for pity's sake.

Hi all i also am a Telecom Plus Distributers i have just been reading through the forum and what keggs says is true they have just brought out a debit card as well and whatever you spend on the card you get 5% of that nocked of your utility bills also they have just done something else what they brought out last year which is if you are a customer and you get someone else to join for elec and gas you get 1 % nocked off your utility bill get 10 customers you get 10 % nocked off your utility bill
which other utility company do anything like this ? NONE

i went with these and thought they was so good i became a Telecom Plus Distributers , dont beleive me !! look for your self and you to could be jumping for joy ( i thought the last part was funny ) jumping for joy lol , i meant saving money

You see, this is what causes irritation. There's a perfectly reasonable (but not great value) mention of the single level option of a cashback card thingummijig. But this is spoiled by you going on to plug the unworkable pyramid distributor nonsense.

Spivs 'nocking' off chavs. Me heart bleeds.

Hi all i also am a Telecom Plus Distributers

Apart from breaking forum rules by posting your link (which you must know is not allowed as you say you have read the thread) your post misleads.

    1) If "what keggs says is true" he wouldn't have been corrected so many times for misleading posts.

    2) They have not "brought out a debit card". It is a hybrid mastercard which needs pre-loading with funds before using it. It has none of the protections given to mastercards normally, or ordinary credit/debit cards.

    3) You don't get 5% of "whatever you spend nocked of your bills". Apart from the card charges always reducing any credit to less than 5%, you are only given any credit at all when using the card at their small number (25 or so) of chosen retailers.

The ASA has many adjudications against uw for false advertising, and we are told that uw takes a dim view of any rep bringing them into disrepute.

The ASA don't regulate internet advertising, but there is no reason why uw couldn't put a stop to the misleading ads put out by their reps if they wanted to!
  • the reason for the link is to show people what its is all about
its the easiest way, i dont intend to mislead anyone that is why i put this link on , from what i have been told it is a debit card and not a credit card
and yes you do need to put money on the card from your bank acount otherwise you wont have any money to spend on your card in these stores
just the same with any debit card

    about the card :

It is a new type of card (not a credit card) - available exclusively to members of the Utility Warehouse Discount Club - which enables you to earn 5% CashBack on all your shopping at thousands of retail outlets thoughout the UK

also i am sorry about putting the link on but i didnt know it was against the rules as there was links on allready by quentin @ 2.27 p.m

    Hi Philphyphil

Hi fellow UW distributors. We could do with a few more joining in here. Don't let Quentin or the other ridiculous anti UW people get you down. My advice is simply not to respond.

Two people who are looking at UW asked for pertinent advice. While we can't promote UW here if you comment calmly and just state the facts as we know them not what naysayers think si the case then Quentin et al can't harm you. Their antipathy is now bordering on insanity so don't givem any ammunition. They really do not know what they are talking about. Instead they pick up bits up here and bits up there then put a load of spin on it. Then they accuse us of misleading people.

    Best wishes

You are of course entirely free to ignore my question but I am asking it as I'm genuinely curious, Quentin. Which energy company/ies do you use to supply your domestic fuel? And would you, as a customer, wholeheartedly recommend them?
