You still haven't told us what your actual usage is on you current tariff.

To be fair NIge, neither have you, no matter how many times you say you have - you gave one month, so any predictions over a year (which are what people normally do, seasonal variations and all) would have to be estimated, like i did.

Seems to be happening more and more often these days.

UW are not the only company who offend, but given their unique sales structure, they probably offer greater rewards to the culprit(s).

It would be interesting to find out if this is a money making scam by the agents, or an individual in the firm.

I don't know the answer to the agent / individual question, but there have been a lot of "letting" agents joining UW as ID's. As a direct consequence of this "opportunity" the company has reviewed the compensation structure and has significantly reduced the "money-making" potential in this area.

The bottom line has suffered as the level of bad debt has risen dramatically and it is implied by the changes that this has in part been caused by the move into this "market".

Exactly, I'm paying now for the predicted spend over the next 12 months. Which is what every single person paying via DD does. If your circumstances stay the same from year to year, the predicted spend should be fairly accurate, although if we experience a very bad winter its could practice to put money aside for the increased fuel being used.

I've given Nige my predicted spend for the next year, kWh figures, tariff and a postcode (not mine;)) he can use to compare rates in my area. What more do you want? Would rooting through my underwear draw bring closure to your unending quest for information?

Why are UW 19% more expensive than my current tariff? Nige stop the prevarication and answer the question.

As a shareholder, I would be happy if UW scrapped selling to tenants altogether, personally. I think the potential rewards are outweighed by the potential pitfalls. I note that the company at the top of the switching site this week :p state 'property owners only' on that particular tariff..

Anyone any idea for the large rise in the share price yesterday? Trading update imminent?

Because of the predicted numbers you are using and the prices shown on your switching site. I am pleased that you may be saving money in the future using your preferred method. Now, can you be pleased for me that I am already saving money using my preferred method?

    you gave one month,
Correct and it was not a summer one where less G & E would have been used which would make the pre payment card usage even more beneficial to the bottom line. I could not be bothered to get all my bills out and was happy to multiply that one by twelve. I used what were quoted as the cheapest providers' unit costs and worked out the actual prices for each company. I also included all relevant Utility Warehouse fees. Jimexbox is using predicted usage and is blindly following the advice of a switching site. I believe using actual units, looking at cancellation fees and etc is the way to go before making a decision. The switching sites are a good staring point but certainly not the be all and end all IMHO. To me, it's a bit like doing my family history. The Mormon site is an excellent resource but I have shown they have inaccurate information referring to my family.
