At least I used actual figures, current supplier and tariff which he has not.
You don't, but I have. As stated previously, after Carmine extolled the virtues of Sainsbugs Basics range I have bought more of them, consequently my pre payment card spend has gone up. This month's bill showed a card benefit of £26.79 against my utilities. I could have made that up but why bother?
I don't think I was "berating" Jimexbox, I was asking for information. Just like asking Quentin if he would be so kind as to provide the link to his Utility Warehouse pre payment card beating cashback card.
I am an Independent Distributor with Utility Warehouse and the views I express may not be shared by the company.
The Sainsburys basics range is a hidden gem, Nige. Superb value for money (especially if you buy it on the UW card). Actually, not quite so hidden these days, looks like they are starting to really push it what with Mr Oliver promoting it in the ads now.
And in other shopping news, Quidco are now offering 1% cashback on ongoing Asda online orders...and Tesco have ended their latest marketing stunt, double-up on clubcard vouchers or whatever it's called. You will no lonegr get £10 to spend on certain items in store for £5 worth of vouchers.Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -
"this generally works out favourably to UW members" - how come?
well, for example lets say one of the big 6 announce a price rise of 30% or so effective immediately. Over the next few weeks the rest of the big 6 (or most) do similar. Only after these new prices are announced will UW begin calulating their new prices, arranging for new tarrif guides to be printed etc. This would mean UW is last to raise prices by a fair margin.
If, a few months to a year later, one of the big 6 announces a price drop, effective middle of next month, this allows all the other companies to follow suit with an effective date much closer to the first mover (even announcing their drops before the first movers has come in to effect. This in turn allows UW to begin their processes ahead of time and greatly reduces the delay in price drop.
So, long wait going up, short wait going down. ergo - favourable to UW members.Quentin wrote:No wonder they are affectionately known as gullibles.
probably by less people than affectionately consider you a pillock. I'm starting to feel sorry for you really, what a spiteful, twisted, cynical world you create for yourself."
Don't you mean that if the rises are "effective immediately", but the drops aren't until possibly "end of next month", then the only members "favourably" treated will be the 10% who are also reps - as their commission stays higher for as long as possible!
um.. no. see above.

All would sound marvellous to a gullible.
But remind us just how long after everyone else the uw dropped their prices this year!0 -

, that would be 2 points per WHOLE pound, I believe. £1.99 would get you 2 points?

That's getting a bit boring now. Q hasn't mentioned it for months - it's just the UW IDs & Carmine who trot it out to change the subject. IN fact it's only the UW IDs & Carmine who dredge up an old mistake.
Does strike me as clutching at straws.
We could all do it..
For example, what about the time whe you said you'd given us your figures, but in fact you estimated them from a single month and then had a go at another poster for estimating theirs?
What about the time Carmine tried to compare putting his own read in online for UW with a meter reader visit for every other supplier?0
