To be honest this was over 7 years ago,
From the evidence we have seen, their current training mantra of "keep it simple", together with the ignorance of the ts + cs demonstrated by many of the reps who have posted on this forum, things have changed over the last 7 years!
And the way the gullible spanish teachers were signed up also bears this out!

You seized on a question I posed, back in May, twisted it into this false accusation regarding me making a "false statement" and have gone as far as trying to "blackmail" me into admitting it by saying unless I apologised you would resort to a libel action. The mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.

and uw rep Nigewick has posted here that he doesn't explain all the ts + cs to new sign ups

£2 worth of deals and 90p worth of extra fuel for my £50 means that I would be better off doing what I'm doing than using the UW card to get £2.50 off overpriced gas and electricity.
Clutching at straws. Generally speaking, 'unsavvy' Tesco punters are buying overpriced groceries to get points to spend on overpriced 'deals'. Horses for courses. Funnily enough, we've just come back from lunch at our local Bella Italia. Very nice it was too. Bill came to £41, made up of £10 drinks and £31 meals (plus tip, of course). Paid with £30 Tesco vouchers plus £11 cash (can't pay for drinks on vouchers and no change given on vouchers). Patently not 4x 'value'. We were also given a voucher to claim buy one get one free main meal on our next visit - no restriction on day or time. I'm assuming we can't use Tesco vouchers for this? no, it states it clearly on the T&cs. We could have got this deal today, incidentally.

HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -
Which for some inexplicable reason (as you refuse to answer questions) you spend your discount on a very expensive energy tariff. When the sensible approach would be spend the discount on the UW phone and broadband package and take your energy from another supplier.
You claim to be independent, so why not take the approach I've outlined above? This would maximise your savings on BB/phone and energy. How will you respond to this fair and reasonable question carmine?
a, Ignore me
b, Insult me
c, Ask a question in return
We shall see.....
My wife won't let me. End of story. :rolleyes:Call me Carmine....

So you finally admit that your statement was false? I did not state that I was resorting to a libel action, just thinking about it. Once again you tell a lie as resorting to libel action is not blackmail.
Your posts on this topic are strange, in that you try all the time to beat a confession out of me!
I admit to nothing! As already pointed out, I posed a question to you, which you have seized on as a "statement".
Once you raised the spectre of your libel action I have admitted nothing, and consistently refused your "offer" of an "accommodation" in return for the apology you require.
I see your offer of the accommodation to be blackmail, as in: if I apologise to you, you won't sue me for libel.0 -
have all your utility companies' representatives explain their t&c's to you?
Obviously not.
Your point and quote is out of context. (As you surely know)
The post was made in answer to the uw member who posted that she was happy with the uw ts + cs because they had been explained to her by a uw rep.
This is contrary to what you have told us you do, and what we have seen in the video evidence. And bearing in mind how long and detailed the latest ts + cs are is hard to accept. And if true leaves you reps open to all sorts of acusations of bias, after all the reps keep pushing the worthless guarantee, and would like us to believe it really is a guarantee (not just a sales aid, designed to convey a different meaning)
Eventually it transpired that this was actually 7 years ago, and bears no relation as to what happens now!0 -
I wonder what %tage of Eon punters know about the 'no discount on final bill' T&C? When you consider someone as supposedly clued up as jimexbox knew nothing about its existence, would it be safe to assume 0.000005%? Even the poor Eon CS lassie I spoke to knew nowt about it. I think Quentin's line of attack here is, like most of his attacks, open to derision. Taking into account the fact that quentin is a serial cashback trouserer (activity that caused cardew to label him a 'parasite' in another thread, lol), I'm assuming he will have been on an npower online tariff at some stage, yet he had absolutely no idea they paid the discount annually in arrears (he would have lost out big stylee here when quickly switching away from this one!).Call me Carmine....

Yes i am happy with UW t & c' and yes they were explained to me (sorry if this doesn't please you!) Why do you judge all UW reps as being the same? And so what if it happened 7 years ago, thats when i signed up, i never said anywhere that it was recently!
You are going to have to accept that I am a happy customer (with no vested interest), I wasn't forced to sign up (the rep encouraged me not to sign up there and then and to take the info away to look at!) I would love to know how many sales people from the big 6 would encourage you to do this?
I had a npower person come to my door around 8 weeks ago and told me they could save me money, this was before he knew who my current supplier is, my consumption, all he knew was my address. How could he possibly know that npower could save me money? Why do you constantly put UW down for their sales techniques? Are the big 6 not just as bad? Is coming onto my property, sometimes lying to get through the door, then giving me false information ok? Funnily enough i've never been stopped in the street or had a UW rep come to my door.:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

It doesn't displease me at all.
Your post was a worry, that's all.
Their ts + cs are now contained in a long document, and getting them explained to you by one of their reps (bearing in mind we know they "use" the worthless guarantee to help sales) cuts out the opportunity for you to study them and accept them. (And of course we have seen how they are encouraged not to worry too much about getting into "detail")
(And you never did confirm that he explained to you that you were agreeing that they could store your credit/debit card details for ever!).0
