It doesn't displease me at all.
Your post was a worry, that's all.
Their ts + cs are now contained in a long document, and getting them explained to you by one of their reps (bearing in mind we know they "use" the worthless guarantee to help sales) cuts out the opportunity for you to study them and accept them. (And of course we have seen how they are encouraged not to worry too much about getting into "detail")
(And you never did confirm that he explained to you that you were agreeing that they could store your credit/debit card details for ever!).
My post was a worry? Why?
I am an adult (I think you have to be to sign a contract to take utilities) it is MY responsibilty to read and agree to the terms and conditions, they do not force you to sign up. I can't comment on what UW reps tell you now, I haven't had that experience, I don't know if they explain the T & C's in great detail, but do the big 6 explain all there T & C's? I think not judging by some posts on here! It's seems some posters who I think are very savvy when it comes to their utilities don't know the T & C's for their own supplier! Why not? Was this not explained to them when they signed up? Or did they sign up using these comparsion sites (you know, the ones that use any legal means to get you to change!!)
I can't confirm whether the Rep explained about my debit card (never gave them my cc details) details being kept, I really can't remember a conversation from 7 years ago!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

Quentin's Big 6 supplier of choice's T&Cs. I make it 27 pages in all - and they only supply 2 products, gas and electric, whereas UW supply many more (gas, electric, phone, broadband, cashback card, mobiles, etc). Yet another completely ridiculous 'argument'.Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -

Your contribution to this thread is beginning to resemble deliberate disinformation. You claim you offer an independent view, then when asked a fair question you avoid the answering at all costs. Even when any fair minded reader would wonder what an knowledgeable 'independent' poster such as yourself has to hide.
It fun chatting, but I simply learn nothing new about UW, even though you are prepared to research my own tariff to help me, very strange behaviour.0 -

I think we should demand to be told. A recent sighting with 'his' manager.
Not your finest post I suggest?0 -

LOL!
Thats a good one, you accusing me of clutching at straws!
Why did you ask me how many points I get for £50 worth of fuel in the first place? Clutching at straws perhaps?Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

On reflection, the Krankies are legends and shouldn't really be associated with Quentin, agreed. If Ian and Janette happen to be reading this, sincere apologies go out to you.
PS Did I actually witness you using this smilie

jimexbox, I'm simply adopting your style of answering. It IS annoying, isn't it?
PS Why would you be in the slightest bit interested in learning anything new about UW?They are no good for you in your situation as your wife won't let you order groceries online. End of story.

I suffer from hay fever so not advisable. I see Sainsburys are now offering 5p off a litre of petrol if you spend £50 in-store. Pay with the UW card and it's effectively over 10p a litre discount. Sort of takes the honours at the moment.Call me Carmine....

Though I try and answer all your questions mate, you have failed to answer a single question I've put to you, embarrassing to say the least. One might presume you have something to hide.
I will ask you again....
Why don't you take your broadband/phone package with UW, then by heavily using your discount card, receive these virtually free (if not totally). Then choose a cheap online tariff for your energy? Even better, any discount not used will be credited back to you. So you could even offset this against the cheaper online energy tariff. Does this make sense?
Do you consider this a leading question? Seems more than fair to me. If anyone else from UW would like to answer as carmine has lost the power to type, feel free to answer....0
