Irrelevant, however at the moment it would be 2% which is more than you get off your grocery shopping using the UW card
DMD said he/she gets 5% off in those shops using the UW discount card, thats just not true.
So when you do your online shopping for Sainsburys do you get 5% taken off the final bill when you put your UW card number in for payment? No you get 5% "cashback" to go towards the overpriced gas and electricity you are buying from UWMissing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

I get 5% off the UW bill commensurate with spend. In my case this is currently averaging £40 a month. Take off the £1 monthly fee and the 35p loading fee and it's still £38.65. Which represents an approx 50% off current total utility monthly spend (this includes telephony/broadband). And the 2% you would get off groceries at Tesco is not actually irrelevant just fairly embarrassing. But of course, you only get points by shopping at Tesco, I get discount off my UW bill by shopping at 29 other establishments as well. Horses for course, PC.
PS How many points for £50-worth of fuel?Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -
It is irrelevant because you dont get ANY money off of your grocery bill using the UW card. So I fail to see where the "money off your grocery shopping" becomes part of the arguement.
You choose to use your cashback against overpriced gas and electricity and phone/BB (actually no you dont, you dont have a choice where to use the "cashback" just the choice of using it or not)
I have PROVEN that I get 8% using the clubcard deals tokens how I see fit (against holidays that arent overpriced) if I did decide to use them against my grocery shopping then I would get 2%, I dont do this as I know its worth more elsewhere, you dont even get that choice of where to spend your "cashback" so yes its irrelevent.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
Why was i wrong to let the UW rep explain the T & C to me?
They are trained to use the worthless guarantee as a sales aid, so what guarantee did you have he explained all those ts + cs honestly?
eg How did he explain their condition to your satisfaction that they store for ever your credit/debit card details, so that they can use them to get paid (even if you stopped the dd payment because of a dispute)?0 -

But by the same token you only get points for your Tesco shopping. UW punters get discount off their bill by shopping at approx 30 High Street names that basically covers the whole gamut of things a household needs/wants. Discount off the bill still means it's money I'm not spending on utilities, therefore cash in my pocket to spend on what I want. Yes? No?Call me Carmine....

To be honest this was over 7 years ago, i can't remember the exact words he used! I do know he wasn't pushy (unlike npower who knock on my door every couple of months!) He gave me all the information and told me to read through and make a decision. I can't imagine one of the big 6 reps doing this, they expect people to sign up on their doorsteps having had no time to read any other the information properly.:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

I would get £2.50 discount off my UW bill. That's cash, effectively. No searching for deals to spend it on etc. Easy peasy.Call me Carmine....

I would get £2 worth of deals and the petrol at my local tescos was 2p a litre cheaper than Sainsburys last time I looked so I would probably save around 90p on my fuel purchase simply by buying it at Tescos rather than Sainsburys
£2 worth of deals and 90p worth of extra fuel for my £50 means that I would be better off doing what I'm doing than using the UW card to get £2.50 off overpriced gas and electricity.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

Which for some inexplicable reason (as you refuse to answer questions) you spend your discount on a very expensive energy tariff. When the sensible approach would be spend the discount on the UW phone and broadband package and take your energy from another supplier.
You claim to be independent, so why not take the approach I've outlined above? This would maximise your savings on BB/phone and energy. How will you respond to this fair and reasonable question carmine?
a, Ignore me
b, Insult me
c, Ask a question in return
We shall see.....0
