So you are willing to pay vastly more, which is of course your choice, for a monthly bill? Having an online account couldn't be easier, you can check billing, account credit/debit anytime you wish in real time rather than waiting for a paper bill.

Each to his own, but £257 a year extra it would cost for monthly billing is ridiculous.

I don't consider 9.00 more a month to be a vast figure! And my reason wasn't just for a monthly bill, you seem to be forgetting my other reasons. I LIKE paying for my energy monthly and just for my useage.

Doing online shopping couldn't be easier, so why don't you? Each to their own!

Plus i don't think that online tariffs are easy to understand, they have so much small print and terms and conditions, its designed to confuse people. There are numerous threads discussing this very point on this forum.

So why are you happy with the uw ts + cs which you have agreed to?

    They are 31 pages long.

Have you suddenly been transported back in time? I've already explained in very simple language that there is no suitable size Sainburys in my area, and no petrol station. My wife will not shop for food online, end of story, even you should be able to understand this.

Now please answer my above point re. using any discount wisely , i.e. not on gas and electricity, to achieve the best saving. You simply ignore this salient point......

Try a new tactic - inform her that her refusal to even try it is causing you to lose face on MSE. :D Jeez, and I thought i was henpecked....;)

Answer what point?? I'll 'channel' your style and simply tell you that my wife simply won't go near online fuel tariffs. End of story.

PPS Fact is there could be someone living next door to you, using exactly the same gas & leccy, spending exactly the same amount on groceries/fuel but signed up to UW...and paying considerably less than you for their utilities. Fact. And rather embarrassing for you, who's trying to influence strangers to make a change that you can't even get your missus to even try once.

Will you ever answer any of my question mate? No matter how fair or reasonable you just ignore me. I've tried to help you, why not return the favour and answer this fair and reasonable question? Really carmine a first time reader would wonder what you have to hide.
  • I'm answering you in your style - introducing into the argument the family member who refuses to go with the flow. Same as the reason for the sudden huge surge in your consumption - 'personal reasons'. What goes around comes around.

Me hiding? You won't even tell us your consumption figures!! As you have said in the past, do me a favour,lol..

I am happy with the Terms and Conditions because i had an actual person explain them to me (UW rep) i'm not tied in nor would i face a penalty if i left.

Do you think that online tariffs, comparasion web-sites etc are easy to use and understand? The amount of problems you read on this forum would suggest they are not. I have had NO problems with my bills using UW for 7 years, this peace of mind alone is worth 9.00 per month. Plus i am use to paying for my exact useage monthly and would not like going back to estimated bills every quarter (if lucky!)

Why not just use your discount against UW phone and broadband products, rather than their expensive energy? This you point black refuse to answer. Embarrassing beyond belief.

If any other UW folk would care to answer this question which carmine embarrassingly wont answer I would appreciate it.
  • Would you like me to try and persuade your missus to save over £300 a year on your utilities? You're clearly not making a strong enough case. Tell her that's the equivalent of a free 32" LCD tv each year, summat like that. Won't she even TRY it once?

Do you mind if I ask how important this part of the deal is to you? If other companies started doing accurate monthly bills as well, would that be enough of a change to make you consider one of the others?

How many different products do these T&Cs cover? And surely it would be the word count that would be the more accurate argument here. UWs T&Cs are in an unfashionably large font :D
