Apologies to Plushchris for stating he doesn't harness the power of his retail spending when he clearly does. And i also accept that the specific deal he has gone for would appear to be genuinely 4x times value in deals. But these deals are rare nowadays. Like I have said before, I am a fan of Tesco points...but I only ever use them if I can take advantage of a c.ock up and gain a ridiculous amount of points for a very small spend. We use them mainly for weekends away, usually at a Hilton Hotel or some suchlike, but on every occasion we have booked at the 'proper' price there has been opportunity, if paying cash, to pay considerably less so we know they are nowhere near 4x times value. Don't mind as the shopping we did to get them has cost next to nowt.
Today is a case in point - we are planning to go to our local Bella Italia for lunch and use Tesco vouchers. Only problem is today we could get 2 main meals for the price of one if paying by cash so effectively the vouchers (today) are only worth 2x value. So do we go tomorrow instead when the offer doesn't apply in order to get 4x value? We can't go tomorrow, lol!
To jimexbox, nice one, lol. Very good. I just find it hypocritical you are on here spouting when in actual fact most of the stuff you are spouting about you don't practice yourself. Your annual grocery/fuel spend would appear to be in the region of £6,500 per year. Are you seriously admitting (as a so-called committed money saver) you don't derive ANY extra benefit from that? That would seem frankly daft for anyone but for someone like you who attempts to put people right all the time on here it's rather embarrassing.
You also berate people for, as you claim, paying too much for their gas and electric but all the time a very simple way for you to save over 300 spodoolics a year on one of YOUR utilities is actually staring you in the face. And still you don't go for it.
PS My wife was intially reluctant to order online from Sainsburys (not a shop she had any experience of previously) but we talked about the potential savings and she agreed to try it. She's not exactly a door mat, I assure you, far far from it  but I talked her round. Have you explained to Mrs jimexbox that one small-ish change to your shopping habits (that would save you both a load of time) could result in free phone line/brodband and she's still not interested?Call me Carmine....

So why do you waste the discount on expensive energy?
You could get totally free phone line rental/unlimited up to 24mb broadband but choose not to. Why waste your money paying BT and Be Broadband £24.75 per month instead?Surely you can see the irony in this?

Can you read?
Marriage is a partnership, would you agree? (will you answer such an innocuous question;)) I cannot force my wife to do something against her will, such as shop for food online. Is that easy enough to understand?
How about explaining why UW folk seem happy to waste their discount on very expensive energy? When they could use it far more effectively (as I've repeatedly pointed out) against other more competitive UW products. Just a straightforward unambiguous response will do.....0 -

LOL. Have you thought that maybe the UW punters you berate on here have partners that just won't go near online energy tariffs? :rolleyes:Call me Carmine....

I like the convenience of a single bill each month, one point of contact for all my utilities and using the UK based call centre that lets you know how long a the wait will be until the call will be answered.
Does anyone here ever refer to the business deals that UW offer or just the residential offering?A Utility Warehouse Distributor0 -
My wife won't go near online tariffs any more. She's forbidden me to switch. End of story.Call me Carmine....

What quantitative difference is there buying energy online or via the phone? I don't believe you can pop into Sainsburys yet to choose your gas and electricity...0 -

Similar question to you and grocery shopping? Anyway, my wife just won't let me have an online energy tariff any more. Loves those paper bills, you see. We are a partnership, I can't force her to have an online deal, can I? I like arguing in your style, it's fun, I can basically say anything that comes into my head to back up my argument. :rotfl:Call me Carmine....

Do Sainburys charge for delivery? As my average weekly shop is about £100, my UW ( future ;-/ ) discount card saves 5% towards any UW products. So what is the delivery cost?0
-
£100 spend at Sainsburys would get you TOTALLY FREE delivery any time midweek.
Delivery Information
