Switch away AT ANY TIME (even in 20 year's time) and your final bill will be based on the Eon price shown on the switching site LESS THE HUGE DISCOUNT THAT PUTS IT NEAR THE TOP. Time this wrong and that could equate to a quarter in the coldest months and be sizeable. I'm genuinely shocked you didn't know this, jimexbox. Just shows how sneaky ALL the companies are, eh?
You must agree that you have to recieve the largest discount at some point? Yes? No? It cannot be a discount that you never recieve?
So if you leave after the largest discount, are you suggesting that Eon chase you through the courts? Thanks for you help.0 -
Ok so first up the rules state I must declare I am am an ID for Utility Warehouse. I have joined at the beginning of July after having been a satisfied customer for previous 9 months. ( the legal part done!)
Well guys, firstly let me tell you that reading 242 pages of this discussion has certainly been interesting and very time consuming, part has added a certain smile a day. I decided that I would like to do some research on UW before signing up as at the end of the day I have a very good reputation amoungst my friends and business contacts which I did not want to destroy by doing the wrong thing, this post has certainly made me see that for some reason a few people really have a dislike for UW, and I have no idea why.
Firstly to jump into an ongoing argument, my thoughts on the triple value guarentee are such, its a guarentee and its written down, more than most companies would offer, and yes its hyped up to seem better than it is, but for anyone with half a brain who wishes to read in quite clear font size right underneath the big words is the rules, which yes make it seem worthless but its still there and if as an ID you offer the correct side of it, it works. As is say I ahave been going for just over 30 days, I attended both training sessions within the first week and a half and in my 30 days have 11 customers signed up all of whom are saving money.
What i will state is that not a single one would save money as an energy only customer, but thats fine as we as a acompany are a multi service company and the benefits are when you become a mutil service cusotmer, with even more saving should you take the cash back card. I have recevied £12 of cashback myself this month on 2 trips to supermarket and purchasing some cloths from a shop which i needed anyway. How can you complain at that. I read that someone felt the cashback card was risky, how so, its been run my a company who run pre apid cards for many many people and they know what they are doing, if people feel it too risky dont load it up with 1000 but do it on a pay as you spend basis, what the risk then?
I have never used a switching site as I do not belive in them, they do not take everyone different circumstances into consideration and my day job is as a web developer and I can assure you now the person who could design a site takeing all these options would be a very devoted man / lady!. Also the sites are there to earn money, if we wish to belive that or not they are and therefore I am almost certain some companies who are favoured are for a particular reason!
Anyways, as I sai, I have tried not to get involved as I will now get drawn in, but all i can sya is my opinion, so far as a cusotmer no problems, as an ID, I am saving people money on a multi service level, not energy only and would not disagree that for those alone they are no where near the cheapest, but take all into one considered pot and people save money, is there a problem with people saving money these days?0 -

Maybe the fact that your mate on here actually discovered this sneaky T&C may convince you?

Yes, but my point is leave Eon after you have received you bill. Therefore you can leave without any penalty.0

Whilst I have gone the multi-service route, if i had just taken the gas and electric I would still be paying far less with UW than with any other supplier. That's the problem some of you have with UW, unlike all the other suppliers there's far more to it than the 'bald' figures on the switching sites but some of you get confuzzled when challenged to think outside the box.
UW is the only energy supplier that gives you the opportunity to reduce your tariff charge (in my case considerably) without reducing your usage. I think it's this unique offering that causes problems with some folk who can't quite grasp the concept on account of it being totally different to what they are used to experiencing.Call me Carmine....

Eh?
OK you recieve you bill with discount, then leave. Please explain how that would not work?
Your mate quentin even says in the last link you provide....
As the discount could be quite large, then it may be worth timing a switch so that it completes shortly after a bill is due to be produced.
Then the next and final bill will only cover a short period, with a corresponding loss of just a little discount.0
