Think I'm going to have to agree with keggs & carmine here.
Although he didn't use the words Triple Value Guarentee, I think we can assume his words meant
"I don't trust any marketing bumf provided by UW*, including the triple value guarentee"
SwanJon, that reply is like asking a person what they thought of the 6 Day War, and receiving the answer, 'I don't like war'. Yes, I know Carmine wrote he doesn't trust any claims made by any supplier including UW. I wanted his specific thoughts on their triple guarantee, not a broad catch all sentence. Why is it such a problem? Ask me for an opinion on my own supplier, and I will do my best to help.
Oh well, I shan't ask again.0 -
There's two things I'm interested in knowing at the moment... maybe I'm just being greedy.
I'm like to know jimexbox's annual kwh uses for both fuels, and the region he lives in.
I'd also be interested in knowing carmine's specific thoughts on the Triple Value Guarantee.
But I guess that's the crux of yesterday's tennis match.0 -

Ive already given you screenshots showing my predicted annual usage, which shows that UW are 19% more expensive than my current tarrif. The UW folk around here do not believe me, so how would giving them my kWh usage figures for both fuels help? I will only be accused of making them up.
Im afraid I'm in a lose lose situation, like many UW customers....0 -
Perhaps, but it wouldn't do any harm, and then you'd have the moral high-ground as well in your own requests.
It also adds considerable weight to your argument if you don't appear to be hiding anything, which is what is being suggested at the moment.0 -

How would it add considerable weight to my argument? I will simply be accused of making the figures up, lying in other words. If the UW folk dont believe me now, they will not believe me then. Ive given indisputable evidence via my supplied screenshots that UW are 19% more expensive than my current tarrif (which isn't even the cheapest), this cannot be disputed, which has been received with deafening silence....0 -
LOL. I was going to ask what jimexbox thinks about Eon's policy of not granting discount on the final bill but as he doesn't know about it (WHAT, did Eon not draw his attention to this very important T&C when he signed up?) that could prove even more difficult to get out of him than his usage figs, lol, He also apears to believe the discount is granted annually when in fact according to Eon themselves it's granted on each billing run (currently quarterly but who knows if they will change to bi annually like some suppliers?) so either he's not actually with Eon (sounds more like npower to me) or he has got it all wrong. Very embarrassing when you are attempting to dissect the TCs of a rival supplier, I would suggest.Call me Carmine....

Just to clarify for stupid me. Are you saying that if for instance I leave Eon after receiving my annual 12 month discount, which has been accrued during the previous year. Eon will persue me through the British legal system for return of the received discount? Thanks.0 -

It adds weight, because the people you're arguing with feel that by not giving this information (which costs you nothing), you are trying to hide something- so it gives them an argument to ignore the information you have presented with your screenshot. (Evidence which can be replicated by anyone is convincing evidence indeed).
For completeness, though, I'll add that if Carmine were to give his thoughts on the Triple Value Guarantee specifically, then it would give him the moral high-ground when asking for jimexbox's annual units usage.
Note to self: how not to make friends with two people at the same time! :rotfl:0 -
PS, [Generic UW ID] stroke of genius to bring up a comment about a switching site from 3 1/2 years ago. Oh and the videos were made when UW's tariff prices were cheap.
Stuck in a time warp?
So, what makes you think the comparison sites are inaccurate now?
If you provide an annual kWh with unit prices and standing charge, we can all go and check, then do the maths ourseles and compare - or would that spoil your dream?
Simple swanjon. When the annual price is calculated based on usage, UW separates the Gas and Electricity usage profiles to have Low, Standard and High to each energy service. The commission paid switching sites combine the gas and electricity profiles onto a duel fuel profile. So a High gas user and low electricity UW user would be profiled to a combined standard user on the switching sites. This is not how a UW customer is profiled. Also the switching sites count the membership fee twice.
As a result when I calculate the energy price based on how it would be for the UW customer it is lower than the figure quoted by the price comparison site.
The prices are there for anyone to see on the UW site. Whichever is the lowest tariff on low, standard and High, separately for Gas and Electricity is the tariff the customer will be put on.
Are you going to try to suggest to people I don't know what I am doing in regards to calculations now swanjon? I am a qualified Physicist, I studied Mathematical Physics. I am also qualified in Financial Services. I also have been with UW for many years.Quentin's Cashback Card?

Oh dear. How much more simple can I make this? You will receive NO DISCOUNT on your final bill. Switch away AT ANY TIME (even in 20 year's time) and your final bill will be based on the Eon price shown on the switching site LESS THE HUGE DISCOUNT THAT PUTS IT NEAR THE TOP. Time this wrong and that could equate to a quarter in the coldest months and be sizeable. I'm genuinely shocked you didn't know this, jimexbox. Just shows how sneaky ALL the companies are, eh?Call me Carmine....
