Firstly it is not what I think - it is absolute fact that UW gas and electricity prices are just about the highest available in UK.
Of course it is relevant to any new reader of this thread who might be fooled into thinking otherwise.
P.S.
Isn't it about time for you to stop contributing to this thread for the ???th time(I have lost count).
Weird how you don't point this out in threads devoted to Big 6 suppliers. For instance, how about you making sure new readers know that if they switch away from Eon their final bill will be minus the very hefty discount that the prices shown on the switching sites include? Or how about npower's annual discount of £105 paid ONLY when you have stayed with them (and paid on time) for 12 months? That's so buried in the T&Cs even arch T&C'er (and Quidco hugger) Quentin embarrassed himself with that one.
As has been stated on here many times by the distributors, UW is certainly not for everybody (what company is?) but if you are in a position to take advantage of the initiatives that no other energy supplier offer, then it can work out the absolute cheapest on the market (not taking into account all the other advantages like monthly paper billing that none of the Big 6 could hope to offer). In my case, by taking advantage of the incentives on offer, I pay far far less for my utilities with UW than I would with any other supplier. Fact.
PS Many utility suppliers tend to give you their best prices for committing to them for a certain length of time. Your deal for telecoms with BT, for instance, commits you for a min of 18 months. You got £5/mth discount for this. Your energy deal commits you for 5 years. I have taken 4 services with UW (gas, electric, phone and broadband). My only financial commitment/'risk' during the first 12 months in total here is £50 if I leave the phone/BB within that time. Should you wish to leave your BT deal after 12 months and 1 day I believe the charge would be approx £220. A definite downside, I hope you agree.
PPS Incidentally, which cash back card do you use for your shopping?Call me Carmine....

This is a thread about UW.
It is swamped by people with a vested interest in promoting UW and it needs someone to point out the realities of UW gas and electricity prices.0 -

I think you need a bit of a reality check yourself Cardew. Very convenient for you to ignore everything that you are told by satisfied customers. It's what customers think that matter at the end of the day and as far as satisfied ones have said they are very happy (me included) irrespective of what 'facts' you choose to state and what facts you choose to ignore.
I think people are getting bored now with the same mantra.
As for me I said I would comment if I felt the need to - I stick by that. If you choose to bring me in to your discussions then I choose to contribute. Do you have a problem with that.
Isn't it noticeable that you suddenly popped up again after I mde a comment that prominent members of the AUWF have gone all quiet. You took the bait then. Will the others like to take the bait or do the words CashBack card and Negative bill embarrass you?
Best wishes

Well spotted. You often berate me (IN THIS THREAD) for being critical of the Big 6 so not quite sure what your point is?Do you suffer from bad memory or are there 2 different contributors connected to your username?

Just in case any newcomer is baffled by the last few pages of contributions from those with a strong vested interest in promoting UW, all you really need to know is that UW have just about the highest gas and electricity prices in UK, and if a a relative/friend tries to tell you otherwise - do not believe them.
If you want confirmation that this is an absolute fact go to any comparison website - see those recommended by Martin on MSE.
We were in Focus yesterday and was given UW details to bring home and digest before the chap gives us a call. Having never heard of them before I was intrigued to find out more. The chap assumed we were with BT and British gas which maybe compared to them they are cheaper. He mentioned about Sainburys, we don't have one in our town so that wouldn't be any good. Was thinking of seeing him but not sure whether to bother now having read through a lot of these posts. Plus the fact I'm already in contracts until next year with my current suppliers.0 -
Carmine, whilst perusing your posts I notice you're rather fond of anagrams? (As in the Van diesel comment in your signature)
Bashing the brain a bit, I came up with an anagrammatical result which I think is rather appropriate -
Carmine stocky - Antics mockery!'The only thing that helps me keep my slender grip on reality is the friendship I have with my collection of singing potatoes'

There are a number of people on this tread who for whatever reason dislike the utility warehouse. They rarely say why (in fact one well known poster has for some inexplicable reason being carrying out a vociferous campaign against the company for the last three years).
While I do have a vested interest in the company because I am both a customer and distributor you really should make your mind up about how YOU feel you could benefit from what the company can offer. And not based not biased opinions on either side.
The anti uw faction on here have one purpose and one purpose only - to denigrate the company and anyone associated with it. They misuse facts to try and influence then when a utility warehouse ID comes here to defend either the company itself or one of its customers these same people accuse them of spamming.
The fact is emilyjade the company regularly receives constant accolades from many different quarters from the Which to TV programes. They are a well run company with just one aim - to provide great value services to its club members. They treat their members fairly and honestly even if mistakes are made from time to time which is no different from any other company. They are not perfect.
The UW is not for everyone - I went to see someone yesterday who contacted me. I told him quite straight that at this moment in time he is better staying where he is and not joining the UW.
Unless you allow the ID who spoke to you to have a proper honest chat about the club and all its benefits then and only then can you make an informed judgement as to whether it will benefit you.
I have only one piece of advice to make - either get back to the person who spoke to you (if you have a contact number) or allow the person to pop round for a chat. He isn't a saleman in the sense that you or some here would think he is - he is simply someone who is a club member himself and wants to help. The operative word is help. If he or she is honest then they will tell you straight that the club isn't for you if they think it isn't. But if it is for you and you take the advice of people whose only interest here is to vilify then you could be missing out.
Do you want to miss out or are other people's biased opinions more important to you. Only you can answer that.
As you are in contracts then the likelihood you will not be able to join but do yourself a favour and find out everything for yourself - ask proper questions and you will get proper answers. The same can never be said when dealing with energy salespeople who have one goal - get a sale. The energy people who visit this site will not like that being said - but from my own personal experience they try very hard to get it even when told no.
Don't be surprised emilyjade that since I have replied to you there will be flurry of comments from the AUWF trying their level best to persuade you that joining UW is a bad idea.
MAKE UP YOUR OWN MIND
Best wishes

Thanks Steve, the man does live locally to me, and had his own bills there to show me so I believe him to be genuine enough. Its just awkward with the contracts finishing at varying times of year for me. Might be worth hearing him out though.0

Like I said before, one of the advantages of UW for me is no min. contracts on gas/electric/phone or broadband (subject to £50 penalty if you leave the phone/broadband within the first 12 months). Nothing worse than being tied in to something like utilities IMO as it severely limits your options. And the example of BT and its rolling contracts where they leave it up to the punter to specifically cancel or it rolls over into another 12 month min contract is a frightening precedent IMO.
PS the nearest Sainsburys to us is 10 miles away - we order online. Great service.Call me Carmine....

Is he not manning a stand in Focus paid for by the Utility Warehouse, to attract new customers, and will he not get commission if he signs people up.0
