:T That's good to hear, thank you Steve.
Got some number crunching to do now... lol0 -
Great news for you, Perelandra (and all of us with the UW card, I suppose). If you shop at the designated stores (and they aren't niche retailers by any means) the cash back card is a fantastic idea and can make your UW bill look very appealing indeed!
The card definitely works with regard to making you check out the designated stores first if you wish to make a purchase as well. Argos wouldn't be at the top of my list for bargains, for instance, but there are bargains to be had (our recent purchase of the Dyson DC14 All Floors for £190 with a £50 Argos credit voucher card thrown in is a great example. Only one other online retailer cheaper at £183 but no £9.50 off the UW bill and no £50 to spend at Argos! A no-brainer).Call me Carmine....

My UW bill- well the gas part at least- already looks very appealing. ;P But that's my consumption really... I only use £60 of gas a year. :rotfl:
I spend a lot at JS though... so I wonder... could I get my power usage down to the point where I paid nothing at all throughout the year for my utilities, given that I already shop at JS. I think that's about a 40% reduction.
I reckon I could do that, you know...0 -

Fabulous news for you. Don't be frightened to ask anything else Perelandra. You may not be a customer of any UW distributor here but that doesn't matter to us. Our business is about recommending and helping even when we don't benefit from people directly. I have benefited because I've found out something I didn't know. I can let other IDs and potentials club members know the news as I am sure there are probably other people who have the same thoughts as you.
Good luck to you.
Just a note - I see the AUWF have gone all quiet. Is this awful (but funny) thread finally died. Somehow I don't think so. What do you think Carmine?

Could it have something to do with Avenger's post regarding the customers who have received bills in negative figures? After all, you can't get cheaper than that, can you?'The only thing that helps me keep my slender grip on reality is the friendship I have with my collection of singing potatoes'

I have noticed that since Avenger's post certain other notable members of the AUWF have posted very little here and when they have it's just been the same old rubbish.
As an aside I went to see a potential customer last night. As it turned out, joining the club wouldn't benefit him at the moment but he very much liked the concept so wants to be kept up to date as things do change. During our conversation we got round to talking about energy and I told him quite straight that we are not the cheapest for energy but the company try their best to put members on the right tariff but even though we may not be the cheapest that's not what the club is about - it's about offering something of tangible value. I hesitate to expand as I'm sure I'll be accused of spamming and God forbid that should be even when the arch anti spammer has been doing just that, and for a while it seems.
Anyway, to cut a long story short, my contact told me quite bluntly that he found what I had to say about energy very refreshing. He had only in the past 2 weeks 3 different energy salesman telling him they were the cheapest. He collared the last one and asked him how they can be the cheapest when the other 2 said they were. Not sure what about the reply. People are fed up with this now. UW offers them something completely different which isn't perfect but is trying hard to help people both save money and make money (and at the same time if they want).

ps - forgot to add that he was impressed by the fact that we are UK based and that it takes very little time to get through - 15 secs on average. My contact had been on the phone to Sky last week trying to get through for an hour and half and they are UK based.0 -
Just in case any newcomer is baffled by the last few pages of contributions from those with a strong vested interest in promoting UW, all you really need to know is that UW have just about the highest gas and electricity prices in UK, and if a a relative/friend tries to tell you otherwise - do not believe them.
If you want confirmation that this is an absolute fact go to any comparison website - see those recommended by Martin on MSE.0 -

Whether you think it is true or not is no longer relevant.
Do the words CashBack Card & Negative bill ring any bells by any chance?:beer:0 -

Firstly it is not what I think - it is absolute fact that UW gas and electricity prices are just about the highest available in UK.
Of course it is relevant to any new reader of this thread who might be fooled into thinking otherwise.
P.S.
Isn't it about time for you to stop contributing to this thread for the ???th time(I have lost count).0
