Thanks. :) Genuinely interested in knowing the answer to this one, as it could potentially save me a bundle.
  • I'm paying far less for my utilities with UW than I would with any other company/tariff so care to explain how that can be? No idea who you are with for energy/telecoms but I'm assuming from your stance on such matters that they make zero profit from you being their customer?

The biggest pyramid/ponzi scheme has just about every adult in the UK as a member - can you guess what it is?

I'm assuming UW offer 50MB broadband?
Your savings comparisions are based on what? From what I've read it's far cheaper to go direct to the actual supplier than pay UW their cut on top?

Of course my supplier makes a profit on me, but the difference being they don't have to make a profit to split three different ways.
  • Hi Barney

It appears that given your above quote and your earlier one which mentioned 'pyramids', you may have an antiquated view/misunderstood the UW/T+ business model - you can get your questions answered here:

With due respect to you but you seem to forget that the salaries paid to your suppliers employees are paid out of the profits they make off you. The other third is paid to shareholders.

Some of the profits made by UW and any other NM company are paid to employees (very few in reality compared to say a company like British Gas); shareholders (as mentioned above) and finally distributors. I have no idea how much in the case of UW but in general it's an average of around 75% in most normal networking schemes. Except for rare things such as the French & Saunders video clips which you mentioned, the company don't advertise in the traditional manner. We distributors are walking, talking adverts. That's our job - simple as that, whatever others hers try to infer.

    Useful article isn'tAvenger.

Btw I don't think you are going to get an answer to your questions from Quentin. If he does before you go on holiday it could be a turning point. But I wouldn't hold my breath.

Have a good holiday. Going anywhere nice? My family and I are going on a Norwegian cruise at the end of August. Never been on a cruise before.

I'm assuming you are with Virgin Media? If so, please don't embarrass yourself by trying to tell me how to save money, lol.

From what you've read? Brilliant research. Well, get on your reading glasses and get me a cheaper deal than this:

    Gas 15000 per year
    Leccy 4800 per year
    Up to 24mb broadband
Free Netgear wireless modem and wifi USB adapter
    Umlimited downloads
100% UK-based call centre (crucially based in same building as head honchos let alone same country!)
    Phone Line Rental
    Inclusive 24/7 calls to 01, 02, 03, 0845, 0870 and 10 Intl. destinations.
    Silver membership
    £10,000 accidental death insurance
Free calls to UW CS, BB helpline, cash back card top-up line etc
    12 monthly PAPER bills
Option to pay for exactly what I use each month (monthly in arrears) thereby no need for debit/credit balances on my account.
    Prospero exclusive membership benefits
UW pre-paid cash back card (gives discount on UW bill, more of this later)

Taking into account the (conservatively calculated) projected cash back for using the UW card I get all this for a net £1,000 per year.

    Over to you.:p

HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??
