  • Let's not get personal folks, even in jest.

This forum is strangely addictive. Most users have some really valid points and can put them forward eloquently, regardless of what 'side' they take. The frustration comes because it feels so 'one way'. A negative view of UW is put forward, someone addresses it. A counter-argument in favour of UW is put forward, but it seems that it's okay for that to be ignored?

Seeing as we spend so much time with each other, who is organising the Xmas do?

That's a lovely poem vinnyph. Never heard that although I'm a bit of a philistine when it comes to poetry.

We are a poetry club as well. Anyone else?

That was an original composition from the known poet, vinnyph.

A little ditty to lighten the mood,
fun with a pun, not being rude.

My youngest son seems to have a leaning for poetry as well. He submitted one recently to a local writing competition. I prefer writing articles and screenplays.

Have you ever had your poetry published?

There was a wierdo on a forum,
Who thought he would argue and score 'em,
The fact is, no-one fell for his patter,
Turned out to be mad as a hatter.

    Boom! Boom!

Now now Maz. Who could you be referring to. I hope it's not me although I can be a bit daft at times. So my son tells me.

Good poem though. I can see where this leading. Anyone know a good book

Not referring to anybody specifically. tbh, this thread is sheer lunacy most of the time so it could apply equally to any poster! :D

A fellow writer. I've had a number of articles publsihed mostly relating to a hobby of mine - for payment of course. I'm also in the process of writing a couple of screen plays which I hope to sell at some point. Doing Telecom plus will eventually free up more of my time so I can devote it to my writing. It will also enable me to travel without worrying about income.

Incidentally, I got a phone call yesterday off someone who saw a leaflet I dropped through his letterbox over the weekend. Had a lovely chat with him today. He quite bluntly told me that if UW can benefit him then he wants to join. Hopefully there will be sufficient benefits for him to say yes. But that is for him to decide. It's nice helping people isn't it?
