Some would say that as far as a "guarantee" goes, from what you tell us this seems about as worthless as they come.
Some would say all sorts of things. Doesn't make 'em true though.
Some might say your tendency to utterly ignore the entire point of a post and simply focus on one sentence you feel you can turn against UW, or your tendency to issue highly offensive, unsupportable, accusations againt those that disagree with you would tend to indicate you are something of a cretin.

Name calling is childish and unwarranted.
I entirely agree.
If you look closely, I didn't call anybody any names.

Ah, you've been on the UW semantic language course too I see.
lol, no I'm afraid I'm not aware of any such course. I have however been closely watching Quentin's posting tactics in UW related thread and I do not consider it unfair to respond to him in somewhat harsher terms than i might to, say, yourself or Cardew, on the grounds that he seems to think it's ok to issue false accusations against me (and others) and basically assume I am scum simply because I agreed to become a UW rep about 6 months ago.
Hope that clears things up a little.

Just thought I'd put this here for anyone to refer to, should any reference to current pricing be used against UW
Sorry Cardew, can't resist.

LOL. Just seen that one myself - kudos to whoever resurrected that really old Ebico thread.Let's see that one again:

I get the impression that BG are the first to start a round of price increases. The others hold on until enough new customers have joined them and then they have similar or greater increases.
I have lost count of how many of the utility companies have been a 'best buy' for me in the past couple of years - although many held that position for only a couple of weeks.
So, by my reckoning, and based on Cardew's informed opinion, to guarantee that they were paying the lowest price for their gas and electric at any point in time a punter would have to switch up to 26 times per year. LMAO.Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -

Not sure if this is what you are after, but a couple of years ago there was an article (somewhere) that said that only in a few of the old electric regions had the host supplier lost more than 50%. (I remember Norweb->TXU->Eon). British Gas has less than 50% of the gas market, so that's similar.
Of these customers, some will be on fixed/cappad tariffs (at varying prices), some will be on internet tariffs and some will be on socail tariffs.0 -
Thanks for that, SJ. So, effectively, it's entirely probable that many millions of punters are still on their incumbent suppliers' standard tariffs? I suppose that in part explains why UW have been so successful (relative to their resources).Call me Carmine....

My goodness, researching my posts back nearly 4 years to try and find some 'dirt' to throw at me. You have learnt from Carmine! - who you note has quickly jumped on the bandwagon.
Well that post of mine was completely correct, in context and stands the test of time. It was during the round of price rises in 2005 where prices from the various companies were changing every few weeks.
However it is correct that that statement doesn't apply to UW as they remain consistently a 'worst buy' with just about the highest price gas and electricity on the market.
In fact the only relevance is how far down the league UW will appear and their much anticipated price cut in the latest round of - wait for it - 2%(even Carmine conceded was 'a little disappointing') did nothing to raise them from about 60th cheapest tariff in UK.
The bottom line is that UW prices are very very expensive and no amount of obfuscation can alter that fact0 -

Come now Cardew, that thread has been on the front page pretty much all day, do you really think I had to research your posting history to find it?
And as for dirt, on the contrary, I completely agree with that post.:beer:Well that post of mine was completely correct, in context and stands the test of time. It was during the round of price rises in 2005 where prices from the various companies were changing every few weeks.
Fair enough. I have nothing to add here, just including for completeness. However it is correct that that statement doesn't apply to UW as they remain consistently a 'worst buy' with just about the highest price gas and electricity on the market.

I believe there is a campaign stickied at the top of this forum regarding energy companies tarrif games. I believe a figure of approx 4000 tariffs is mentioned in there. At 60th position you have a very strange idea of worst buy,The bottom line is that UW prices are very very expensive and no amount of obfuscation can alter that fact
The bottom line is that a customer in the right circumstances (which i'd suggest is not uncommon) who can take advantage of the additional benefits of UW membership can pay less overall than with any other supplier or combination of suppliers. No amount of obfuscation can alter this.:p
