So you will be telling all your customersThe mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.

I have been approached about joining Utility Warehouse as a customer & distributor. It seems as though there are arguments for & against on here. I did wonder if it's too good to be true but also wondered why Which have it as a Best Buy. If anyone can provide for & against this I would appreciate your feedback.Titch0

I'm not convinced this is the best place to ask such a question, lol . It will just lead to yet more scratching and b.itching again. I believe there's a 100% money back guarantee with the starter pack so no real worries
. However, personally I think the most realistic (and honest) approach would be to sign up as a customer first and see if you were happy enough to recommend to others? I genuinely don't believe 'non sales people' can sell something they don't totally believe in, so maybe check it out as a customer first? Certainly the gas and electric (unusually these days) have no exit fees so you would be free to leave after 28 days if you weren't impressed etc. Just a thought...

Have a read through the thread, and check out the videos showing how they operate.
If you see yourself selling expensive gas and electricity like they do to their friends, parking your car so that you can stick cards on the cars on either side saying "thank you for not parking too close, pto", stopping strangers in the street and pretending to be lost so you can reward them with your card when they help you etc etc, then it may be the life for you!
eg: http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews-all-87791.html
Which don't say they are the best buy, but had a survey of customers from energy companies, very few responded from uw, but those that did praised it highly.
We have worked out on average each rep has around 10 customers, so you can see the respondents may have been biased.
If you look up uw reviews on the web you shouldn't have too much difficulty separating the customers reviews from the reps input!0 -

Is that right? Which, did not say that they were a best buy?Dont you just love freshly congealed pigs blood, with a bit of fat in0 -
Hi Shaznmark
I no longer post Here beacuse of the vitrolic attacks by one person in particular. He or she has his own personal agenda so his or her arguments are unbalanced. But as you have asked a genuine question I felt it only right of me to answer. Make you own mind about it. If the company were as bad as some here like to pretend it to be it would have closed down years ago wouldn't it? It operates differently from the so called traditional way of doing business (which in reality isn't traditional at all). That doesn't make it any less of a business does it?
The main antagonist here is contantly accusing Which of somehow twisting everything. Do you really believe an organsation like that would 'deceive' its readers?
Carmine is right - try the services first then see if you would like to recommend them to other people. Also ask yourself 2 questions:
1. You are obviously looking for something extra in your life. Is UW the right vehicle for you.
2. If it is would you enjoy getting involved.
If the answer is yes to those 2 questions the UW is for you. Ignore the negative people and decide for yourself.
Hope that helps
Steve
ps To Miss Moppett - thank you inviting me back on this sad forum. I am not going to post much now but will do so for soneone like shaznmark

I note the shares have gone a bit 'mad' today (up 7% on the day). Year end results tomorrow?
More or less totally off topic, of course, but what's new in this thread?Call me Carmine....

UW were not awarded a 'best buy' for their energy services, they simply scored the highest result in the customer satisfaction survey and were described as 'best energy supplier'. The Broadcall phone and internet package did receive the best buy award.
Hope that clears things up a little.

No-one has accused Which of deception have they?
(Though from what we have learned, deception does seem involved when it comes to uw reps selling techniques - eg pretend to your friends you need their help when really you intend signing them up to multiple utilities, and Keggs car parking plan to "reward" considerate parkers with his business card stuck on their cars!)
The which survey uw use to promote their company (itself against the which rules) involved customers of the various energy suppliers completing a survey.
Only 90 (out of a total of 6088) responses were from uw. (Compared with 1288 for BG, 1278 for SSE). And each fuel got a separate form (so it could be just 45 uw customers completing 2 surveys each, one for gas and one for electricity)
And what proportion of those 90 (or 45?) had a vested/financial/family interest?0 -

Hi Quentin
As a proportion of total responses, UW had less than 1.5%, which would equate to something near their market presence, so no problem there.
As to the proportion of those that had a vested interest, my calculations are in the range of 0% to 100% - anybody else have any more specific numbers?
We can all dis surveys and statistics, however UW consistently do well in this type of "measure". If we are not careful, people might start to believe that there is something about UW that isn't always bad - now there's a worrying thought.Personally I'm always ready to learn, although I do not always like being taught - Sir Winston Churchill0
