Hello everyone!
Ok this may have been put in the wrong place so if it is then sorry
As a customer and distributor I see you wanted to know the broadband speed for UW, well here is mine:
Sorry did try to do a link but it would not let me nor will it let me use the pic As you will see its
6.9Mb download
0.81 Mb upload
Now please dont jump dowm my neck here people as the following is my view only and nothing ells..
These speeds I am getting are great as it was confirmed by BT direct (can provide how you can check this) that my line would only get 5Mb on ADSL and 6Mb on ADSL 2, so given the fact I am getting almost 7Mb then I am over the moon with the results.
Regards
Jim

what does annoy me tho is how the DD payments they set you up with are way under what they should be, and by the time I changed them to more realistic figures we were £70 in debt with them, in under two months !!
I believe you can actually email them your monthly readings and they will then bill you for the exact amount the month after, which sort of negates this problem. It should also prevent the build up of large credits we read about on here from people with the Big 6. Have to say this is another of their innovations that really appeals to me. Not something that any of the Big 6 could do, either, as it sort of relies on sending out monthly paper bills (even the majority of the so-called paper billing tariffs with the Big 6 mean you get just TWO bills per year which is frankly pathetic IMO). Agreed about the annoying 'low' DDs to start with - every energy supplier I have signed up with (and there have been many!) has done this. I'm wise to it now, I more or less know how much it should be and just instruct them to change the DD accordingly.Call me Carmine....

Hi carminestocky
Yep that is right you can ask to be removed from the budget plan. Indeed this is a problem with all the gas and elec suppliers about having to call up, This however will be a thing of the past once smart meters start to be rolled out.. but lets now go there with smart meters!!

Welcome to the forum and thanks for posting your speed results. You can post your link as long as you don't post the complete url, just post the path after the www. e.g. speedtest.net/result/474791696.png
I am genuinely interested in the speeds achieved on UW broadband but none of the UW regulars have posted their results requested here, I wonder why?
:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

Yes that worked fine. The forum restriction on posting links is an attempt to prevent spammers advertising. Enjoy the forums many boards.

Your ASDL2+ broadband speed is limited by various factors, least of all who sends you the bill. You download speed is largely determined by your line attenuation figure, log into your router and the figure along with other data will be displayed. The higher the attenuation number, the lower your speed. Live further away from a BT exchange, and you attenuation numbers will rise. It has zero to do with UW, or another ASDL2+ ISP.
If anyone on 'normal' BB wishes to see an estimate of their predicted ASDL2+ speed with any providor, enter your attenuation number here..clicky.0 -
