Um, exactly why do you think you can tell someone else how to shop? If Nigewick is happy with UW then what's it to you?
Why so aggressive?
My comments are purely humanitarian.
I would say the same thing to the spanish teachers who were mislead into thinking they were saving a fortune signing up to the UW, as well as any other gullibles who have been mislead!0 -
Why so aggressive?
why not? I'm still waiting for that apology by the way.My comments are purely humanitarian.
Where this thread is concerned, I find that highly unlikely based on your posting style (see post 2682 for details).

Simple, Utility Warehouse does not suit you, so stay with your current supplier(s). However, I shop at Sainsbury's because it is on my way home from work and they are best value for certain items that *I* want. So much so that I buy about £250 per month of their products. When necessary, I spend the £50 required in order to get the 5% cash back for fuel taken from my utility bill as well. Because of my spending habits, I pay less for my utilities than with any other company. I also still get my Nectar points too.
I think that all the people who support Utility Warehouse admit that the company will not suit everybody. However, the few detractors on this thread keep trying to say that it will suit nobody and that is obviously wrong.
My nearest Sainsburys is miles away but we tried them online entirely due to the cashback card, just to see if it was a viable way to reduce one's utility bill. Really nice thing about the internet is you can compare these stores without leaving your abode and certainly without shelling out any of your hard-earned! We then discovered that, for our shop, Sainsburys were always much cheaper than eiethr Asda or Tesco (the other supermarkets on mysupermarket if we disregard the ludicrous Ocado!)...and often by a good 20%! Very surprising but there you are. I suppose our experience is exactly why these retailers decide to add themselves to these 'consumer incentive' schemes such as cashback sites and UWs cashback card - it's just another (probably more effective) form of advertising. We would NEVER have considred Sainsburys online without the 'incentive'.
This is all documented (by me and others) on the Food and Shopping Forum, a cusory glance of which will confirm to you that SERIOUS MONEYSAVERS are now defecting to Sainsburys (again, their latest accounts published this week is further evidence of this). We used to do the rounds of the supermarkets and get the best possible price but never took into account petrol costs and even more importantly TIME. We now have our groceries delivered to us at a time convenient to us, no !!!!!!ing about traipsing round the soulless aircarft hangars masquerading as hypermarkets any more.
PS Stangely enough, my wife drives past a Sainsburys petrol station on her way to work every day so that's not a problem filling up there (this would prove difficult online!). She just takes her car one day then my car the next. Job done.Call me Carmine....

Forgot to say in my earlier post, if I add the phone line/bb/24/7 free calls to 01, 02, 03, 0845/0870/free cs/bb support, £10,000 accidental death insurance and 10 international destinations package to the net £804 for Gas and Electric, my total UW yearly liability for all that would be precisely £1044. Can't see that being too easy to beat. In other words, just £69 more per year than I would be paying for just my gas and electric with the very cheapest online tariff with the £60 exit fee (BG Websaver 3). Just £33 more than the cheapest paper billing tariff.

When you take "the high ground", and resort to personal jibes you should remember that you are the uw rep who has been exposed trying to use this forum to run a so called charity event by suggesting MSE members join UW to "save" (though, of course, how they were to "save" was not specified), and get their joining up commission passed on to the charity.
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=966
You neglected to say if (or how) you would benefit from MSE joining uw.
When challenged by a Mod over breaking the rules of the forum, and asked to provide a non referral link, you refused to do so, saying you would withdraw your promise of a charity donation if made to.
As a result of your posts, the thread was locked, and UW reps were "banished" here as the only place they are allowed to discuss their business!0 -
Has Quentin ever revealed his 'package'?
I mean, maybe he has and I just missed it. He's clearly going to have the very cheapest utilities package on the market (one would hope) so what is it? I'm sure that would help the 'gullible ones' in being swayed away from signing up with UW. A positive step for him to take, in other words...

NigeWick, thank you very much for having the integrity of admitting that UW is not for me, that goes a long way in my book.
Decado23, thank you also, I merely used Carmine’s gas and electric annual consumption figures from his post because he offered them up for this purpose but it seems fair to say that whatever the annual consumption amounts taken as an example, you would be saying exactly the same thing, that UW is not for me.
I say this because the real problem is the UW cash back card at 5%, which can be so easily beaten simply by careful shopping, as I mentioned in my previous post, and possibly the fact that recently I purchased a Dyson vac and got an incredible deal at nearly half the list price.
When you couple that with the fact that UW’s gas and electric is significantly higher than you find on comparison websites, you then have the added problem that some of your cash back is in effect drawn off to compensate for the extra energy cost. With all that in mind I find myself wondering, just who should actually sign up to UW.
Please don’t think I’m being awkward. I certainly have no wish to upset the various UW reps who have kindly responded to my requests for courtesy and politeness. Equally, I’ve no wish to upset the applecart in this matter so I do sincerely hope someone can show me where I am going wrong. Who makes an ideal UW customer?
Carmine, it may be different now, but last time I shopped online with Sainsburys I found that the in store discounts at Sainsburys didn’t all appear on their website. On one afternoon alone, I found I could save £12 on in store deals as compared with buying online (and I wasn’t buying all that much). It might pay you to check this out too.0
