Would you like to expand on that?0

Dear Miss M.
.
I completely agree: My post, #2660, included
"
I wouldn't touch UW with a very long bargepole, and would advise anyone else likewise.
"
I saw a pitch from some distributor for UW at a Landlord's seminar & he came over as "too good to be true" and we know the old saying - if it's too good to be true it probably is.. His numbers and assertions struck me as implausible and likely to be regarded by many as possibly fraudulent. I may of course be wrong.
I've heard from people who have been involved with UW who have been bitterly disappointed - both customers & distributors. There may be other stories.
It operates in a manner similar to a pyramid scheme: I understand it is asserted not to be a pyramid scheme and entirely accept that assertion, albeit with some surprise.
Nope, I wouldn't touch UW with a very long bargepole, and would advise anyone else likewise.
Cheers!

Yes - you are wrong. I've only answered because no other distributor has. UW has been around 11 years. They are the top performing company in the UK. They are a plc company in the FTSE 250. If it wasn't leagl or ethical then it wouldn't be listed on the stock exchange. It wouldn't have major shareholders involved. It wouldn't have people working for them who are well respected business people.
Research the company then come back and tell us the company is fraudulent. Research the company yourself before taking advice from anyone including distributors such as myself. And before making assumptions based on a presentation. The mantra that you quote may be true but in the case of UW you are dead wrong
To Miss Moppet - I'll expand on Carmine. If you really think that the likes of Quentin are courteous people then I'd suggest that you read his posts again. This time with a question in your mind. What's his real agenda?
Now I'm out - anger has subsided.
Steve
Uw Distributor & Very Happy Customer0 -
As this is the only thread on the forum where UW can be discussed, could any UW customers please post their broadband speed test results achieved here. (Copy forum link and include in your reply)
Thanks:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
If it wasn't leagl or ethical then it wouldn't be listed on the stock exchange. .....It wouldn't have people working for them who are well respected business people.
Research the company then come back and tell us the company is fraudulent.
1) A stock exchange listing has nothing to do with whether or not a company is ethical.
In any case, we have seen lots of examples of the ethical way uw reps behave in their posts here (many of which end up quickly being deleted), and is employing Big Al to teach the reps how to manipulate the minds of gullible prospects the way ethical businesses operate:
http://www.networkerplus.co.uk/videos/rejection-free-presentation-big-al.html
2) We have seen in their videos how "respectable" their directors are.
eg: The director showing how easy it is to take advantage of your friends' good natures, and get appointments with them on the pretence that you want them to help you out on a presentation you need to "practice", when in fact the objective is to sign up your friends for multiple utilities - "at least 4 services".

Keggs, you yourself feigned outrage when your wife was mentioned here:keggs wrote:I take great offence at ... bringing my wife into any discussion on this site.
This in itself borders on the fraudulent, hardly ethical, and was of course hypocritical, as it was subsequently shown that it was you yourself who first introduced your wife to this thread (as you well know!)
And what are we to make of this (in the light of you simply continuing as if you never said it??):keggs wrote:Having thought long and hard, you will be glad to hear that I will no longer post here. I value the reputation of both myself and that of the Utility Warehouse too much ......I have no wish to tarnish that reputation by something I might inadvertently say which undermines it.
It is all very well telling us to go and research your company, when that is the very thing you are taught not to do in your presentations, where the mantra is "don't get into discussions on the detail".
Luckily, research wise, we have seen the way UW reps are taught to sell to gullible friends (or the friends of friends), without "going into detail", (apart from the detail of how the uw is badly let down by the "corrupt" comparison sites to explain why it might "appear" so expensive) and the lies happily broadcast via youtube videos by the uw to encourage new customers to sign up.
We already knew all about the worthless guarantee. Then you came here and advertised the "Savings Calculator" - yet cannot defend the worthless, fraudulent savings figures it gives out!0 -
I'll say this once and once only. After your recent disgusting posts including this last one I have no intention of debating anything with you Quentin. You have only replied because I decided to post one last time. You didn't have the courage to answer joeybaby.
Post your rubbish if you like but I for one will no longer get involved. This site is a joke and has been hijacked by people who have one single agenda. Instead of debating the merits of the Utility Warehouse it is about forcing UW distributors to defend themselves. I will no longer get involved and advise my fellow distributors to do the same.
Incidentally Quentin I have advised the owner of the networker plus site as to your misuse of information on his site. He is looking into it and will no doubt find a solution.

Hi Keggs
I am on your side, I joined up as a Distributor 2 days ago, its obvious to me that people on this forum do not like the savings that are on offer when you join Utility Warehouse. They are also planning on moving further up the stock market to the ftse 500.
Oh I will post in here again when I get my Utility Mini too.
Thanks

You have only replied because I decided to post one last time
Actually it was your second post since vowing never to darken the door again!
You flatter yourself if you feel I posted to take advantage of your "one last" post.
But this vitriolic reply of yours doesn't further the discussion at all.
It was of course you who introduced the idea that uw has "well respected business people working for them". If you bring a topic up, then expect some discussion on it! (And don't forget all those "respected" reps who come here and get their posts deleted!)
You seem to think that links to items posted and freely available on the web is a "misuse".
Or is it that you are embarassed by the so called "ethics" they reveal?
And the uw are clearly well aware that the ASA doesn't interfere with false and misleading advertising in on-line advertising, judging by the amount of misleading and false advertising we see in the you tube presentations from the uw advertising for customers:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpB0rbgWWSc&feature=channel
Note the downright lies in the presentation, and the conspicuous lack of mention of having to join a club and pay a monthly fee for that on top of everything else.
Lies include:
1) We guarantee you will pay less than BG and your local electricity supplier
2) Other companies may seem cheaper, that's because what they do is give you a good offer for 6/12 months but tie you in to a 3 year deal which is very expensive for the remaining 2 years.
3) No minimum contract for energy (in fact in their ts + cs they insist on 28 days written notice if you want to leave)
4) BT line rental is around £4 more than uw charge.
Additionally the Which report is used (against Which's rules) to show uw as the "best buy", and following on from the other video where the great gary telling us their monthly billing system is the only one in Europe (we have seen the bill is hopelessly wrong anyway), this guy goes further, and tells us it's the only company in the world able to produce a single bill each month!
the way we have seen the monthly membership fee seems never mentioned at all when you are signing up gullibles.
or: the way your colleagues happily tell downright lies which seem beneficial to the prospect, but won't come to pass (eg the free wireless router, which in fact is only on loan and must be returned when leaving) The video presentation blatantly lies about it, saying you give a free router, which if you leave during the initial 12 months the only penalty is a £50 payment to cover the router. In fact the £50 is an early termination fee, and the router must also be returned. etc etc0 -
Quentin
If you have a problem with the Utility Warehouse why not attend one of their meetings and talk to the people in the know.

No, this is a moneysaving website. It's for folk who like savings.
Which ones do you feel we are missing out on?0
