keggs, you say that by (wrongly) assuming your advice was to put the cards under motorists wipers I lied, twisted and slanted what you said!
How does this assumption alter the meaning of what you wrote in any way?
And still no comment on the real concern of whether or not you are in fact a uw rep, - apart from the uw parking "trick" you teach, (which you must agree did not specify wiper OR wing mirror), you are involved in motivating disheartened colleagues, accusing a disenchanted colleague for "not believing enough", and broadcasting that uw has allowed you to "build a future for myself and family").0 -
HeHe. I do get sceptical about how this thread keeps getting dredged up again. Fact is, this forum, without this thread, is almost dead. This thread was happily making its way onto page 2 until yet another first time poster who'd apparently been reading it for some time without feeling the need to contribute suddenly took it upon her/himself (i've long since given up on taking usernames on the web as an indication of gender) to drag it back up to the top again with a potentially incendiary post. You don't have to be much of a conspiarcy theorist to smell a rat the size of Rik Waller here. Well, do you?
Anyway, UW is an interesting alternative to the Big 6, it's demonstrably the cheapest for me and my circumstances. Whether it is cheapest for others will entirely depend on their circumstances, of course. There you go, the defnitive statement regarding UW (unfortunately contained on page 135 of a thread full of !!!!!ing and scratching).
Back to Colm Wilkinson and 'Bring Him Home'. Recommended to any of you getting stressed by this thread.Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -
So instead of all the gnashing of teeth by UW representatives, why can we not have a rational discussion purely on UW pricing?
The goal posts do tend to move quite frequently don't they?
When we were discussing the UWs Broadcall phone/internet package being considerably cheaper than your BT package, as well as including some nice bonuses (higher max speed, larger monthly allowance, various additional member benefits) then suddenly BTs inclusive texts & wifi minutes became 'must haves'

Coatesoutlet, your sentence beginning, “How dare you tell me ....” looks like outrage to me. If I am wrong, please explain.
For the record, in my first post I said, “The UW reps have on far too many occasions allowed their posts to be sarcastic and even downright abusive”. I did not specifically call you “an abusive Distributor for Utility Warehouse”. If you are going to quote someone, please quote him or her correctly or not at all. Please read my posts before replying to me in future.
Each side has their point of view on this thread, but most people want to know what the savings and or benefits etc actually are, so in future please put something constructive on the post about UW. People want facts – simple as that, they can then make up their minds whether they wish to join UW. How can people judge when many of the posts aren’t giving any detailed responses. All this discourtesy etc only gets in the way.
As I said before, and whether you like it or not, UW distributors are doing their company harm in responding in such a manner. I am so glad that Decado23 has taken my comments on board and also taken the trouble to give me a detailed and courteous response.
As for Carmine, I will respond to you in due course.0 -
Keggs,
Do you not see the irony in a UW representative - of Triple Value Guarantee fame -getting irate about whether cards are placed under the windscreen wiper or in the wing mirror.0 -

Hi Miss Moppet
Welcome to the forum.
You're aspirations are very valid, but the chances of having such an opportunity to be constructive about UW are very limited on this forum. Most attempts to respond to requests for information are very quickly quashed by other members of the forum. Obviously, overt advertising is not allowed, but if you post a question you will get a response (from both sides).
All the best
Mike

Before I finish for good (and please do not try to provoke a further response because it will be ignored), I will give you a definitive response to your 'concern.'
I am not a representative of the utility warehouse discounted in the normal accepted sense of the word. I am an independent distributor which means I am self employed. I am considered by the company to be a business partner. I am not employeed by them. I cannot speak for them on their behalf. I cannot offer deals or do anything that affects the terms of the contractual agreement I made wth the company when I joined.
My job as a business partner with the company is to talk to people about what the company offers them. I am not forced to take any of their services or to recommend any of their services. I do not represent them in any way, shape or form.
As a business partner with the utility warehouse discount club my only 'job' is to recommend services to other people but to do so effectively I believe I can only do so by using their services. I can the speak with my authority based on my own experience. If people I speak with think they will benefit then I have the authority to fill in a form and post it off. From then on it is up to the customer whether they wish to continue using the services.
As the company has over a quarter of a million members in their club then these customers despite what you and others try to say are apparently happy with what the company offers them. If they weren't they would leave.
Much has been made (particularly by Cardew) of how disgraceful it is that IDs should be paid to recommend something to their friends and neighbours. As network marketing is a huge international business model worth billions then Cardew's point of view is likely to be in a minority. Just because he doesn't like they way companies such as UW operate it doesn't make it unethical, illegal or immoral. It is not a pyramid scheme as some here try to imply. That is illegal. The recent court case involving Amway UK settled that matter. But people who spout this rubbish usually have no real idea what a pyramid scheme is when asked. They have a vague idea but that's all - usually based on hearsay or or soome uneducated guesswork.
Now you obviously will want to provoke me further into responding but I repeat what I said at the beginning of this post - I am out of this now and while I will enjoy reading the nonsense posted on this forum diguised as 'fact' I will not post again. So please do me the courtesy of accepting this.
But will you? Somehow I doubt it. Ce la vie.

My contention was, and is, that for the majority of people, the BT package is better value.
To have wireless, second phone, call waiting etc etc which are all extra charge with UW and bring it up to, or exceeds, BT's price.
The additional (no charge)items on BT's package - wi-fi mins, texts, security package etc are far more use for most people than an unachievable 24mb and a Prospero magazine etc0 -

Illegal it may not be, but it certainly is unethical by my standards.
Of course it depends on your definition of 'unethical'.
However to knowingly sell high priced gas and electricty to people who trust you, might I suggest be considered unethical by the 'man on the Clapham omnibus'!0 -
Apparently doctors advise taking the prescriptions as directed: Some posters appear to have forgotten to take their little helpers...
Sigh!
Heh hoh, care-in-the-community lives at MSE!!
