Utility Warehouse (Telecom Plus) Discussion

You seem to misunderstand.
The videos plastered by the uw all over the net are intended for you to watch and learn from!
No-one suggested your customers are "forced" to join. But there is no doubt you are taught to deceive friends and relatives, as we see in the Shazza video:
http://www.networkerplus.co.uk/videos/practice-appointment-shannon-griffin.html
But there is evidence you are trained to avoid going into the details, which make a tremendous difference.
As in your "survey" which suggests a saving of £600, the many reps who come here and get their posts deleted following attempts to mislead with their claims, (and their reticence to ever mention the membership fee)!
We are not taught to deceive anyone and take personal effront to that statement. I take my job as a distributor with the Utility Warehouse (a reputable, plc listed company) seriously.
I use a survey as a means to find out whether people would be interested in trying out the services. Nothing more. Nothing less. It is NOT some strange new way of twisting people's arms up therer backs to get them to sign up for something they don't want. The choice is theirs. They are given the facts straight in as simple a manner as can be made. We don't talk about rates because rates are meaningless to most people. They may be important to you Quentin but what matters to most people is: decent reputation, good service, legal, and whether they will benefit. I fo do not think they will benefit I tell them. If they do not think they will benefit I accept it.
I recommend something I find beneficial for me and my family. It's the fact that I get a small remuneration from my customers that you can't stand. But customers have the chance to get that remuneration for themselves. They alsdo have the chance to get a little more remuneration for telling their friends. There is NOTHING wrong with that. But to you you would think that we wre all evil incarnate. The people on those videos are ordinary people and you have attacked them. Despicable.

I sincerely believe that do take your role with UW very seriously, you obviously wouldn't post so much if you didn't. However, if I were senior management within UW, I wouldn't be particularly happy that you were associating the 'good' name of UW with posts such as the following. i.e. You demand an apology because of the way someone has made reference to you / your wife and then go on to abuse Cardew telling him to take his head out of, well, somewhere not very pleasant.
The reason for posting this is that I love reading this thread; however I'm mindful that some people may be relying on the income they receive from their UW work. Obviously the merits of that work are discussed in great deal and how they obtain business. I guess it would just be disappointing if there was any fallout simply because things got a little heated during the debate on this thread.I take great offence at
(a) The sarcastic and irresponsible firts comment
and
(b) Bringing my wife into any discussion on this site.
How dare you. I expect an apology forthwith.
As for the rest of the post - it's worthless garbage. Stating how much this organisation will save you or that organisation will save you is not proof of anything. That includes UW. Only by trying something new will anyone find out whether it is is worth it. I repear you know the price of everything and the value of nothing.
Thankfully most people are prepared to try new things with an open mind. Even Cardew (if he got his head out of ****) might find things a bit different if he tried things instead og pontificating from a standpoint of thinking he knows it all.

We are not taught to deceive anyone ....I use a survey as a means to find out whether people would be interested in trying out the services. Nothing more. Nothing less....... The people on those videos are ordinary people ......
The introduction to the "shameless" video where uw reps are taught how to make "practice" appointments by using their friends good nature to help them out seems to differ. What else does it teach but deception is the norm for the uw:Here's another video that demonstrates Group Director, Shannon Griffin booking a 'practice appointment', no doubt with a view to signing up a multi-service customer for at least four services, because that's what the top distributors do.
http://www.networkerplus.co.uk/videos/practice-appointment-shannon-griffin.html
By saying "I use a survey as a means....." just demonstrates how deceitful you are but don't realise it. The TPS says you must not make cold calls to sell, so you make cold calls, but pretend you are carrying out a survey! (And cannot say here what happens to the result of the worthless survey)
The gullibles on the training videos are no doubt ordinary people (the uw insists they are, no doubt to show you all how easy it is to get gullibles to sign up without ever going into any detail), but the trainers aren't ordinary at all - they all seem to be uw directors!0 -
My wife who is a shareholder likes the dividend she got today.......
@ keggs
See who first brought Mrs Keggs into this thread?
And it's about time she started to pull her weight - where does she think all that divvi comes from?
(For more on the net about her, get her to www.google.co.uk for "keggs wife uw" if you dare)0 -

I accept what you say up to a point and do apologise to Cardew for any insult I may have inadvertently made to him. Telecom plus the Utility Warehouse has been around a long time and is a great and reputable company. It takes seriously what its distributors do. I have no wish to say anything that will jeapardise this.
The same however cannot be said for another individual who not only denigrates the company but anyone associated with it. His hatred (which he has not elaborated on ....why not?) for UW seems to have no bounds and has now (with his misuse of information he finds on another site) brought other people into the discussions one of whom just happens to be a shareholder (a decision she made herself). That comment was made a very long time ago I seem to remember but has now been brought up again. Why?
UW disttributors do not deceive and to say so is an insult to the thousands of members of the club (whether distributors or not).
Quentin. Doing a survey is not a cold call in the sense of the word you are trying to use. Surveys are done all the time by many organisations. Some knock on doors. Others telephone. It is a legitimate way of getting information.
As per normal it is pure mischief making on your part.

Yes it is.
But it is against the TPS rules as well as deceitful to use a survey as an excuse to cold call people, when the worthless "survey" is just a means to get selling!
And the "UW Authorised Distributor Survey" is pretty transparent! What do you do with the data gained?Authorised Distributor Survey
My name is ______________________. I am conducting a survey on behalf of the Utility Warehouse Discount club.
Can you spare a couple of minutes to answer a few questions?
Do you use a telephone at home? .................................................................................
Are you with BT or NTL/Cable? ....................................(Your current monthly call expenditure?)
If BT, do you pay the bill quarterly or monthly? Do you pay for your calls to another telephone provider?...........................................................................................................
Do you use a mobile telephone? .........................(How much do you normally pay each month?)
Are you PAYG or in contract?…….(Your current network? Tariff? When does your contract expire)
Do you use the Internet? (Dial Up or Broadband?)(Your current supplier? Expiry date? How much per month?)
Do you think you would benefit from having the Best VALUE domestic gas and electricity in the UK?....................................................(who are your current suppliers?)
Would it be beneficial to you to have all these services on one convenient monthly bill?
The Utility Warehouse can save the average household £600 per year on all their utilities. What would you use that £600 for?
Car Insurance :Car Tax : Holiday Fund : Clothes Shopping : Weekend with family : Give to Charity
Other......................................................................................................................
Would you like information of how you could benefit from FREE utilities every month?.....................................................................
Do you know any one person that would like to earn some extra money part time?......................................(Offer What’s It all about DVD)0 -
Sorry Quentin. You are wrong. If it was as you state it is then I wouldn't get calls from a wide variety of companies asking me to do a survey over the phone. I don't do them because they ask me personal information which I will not divulge over the phone.
Nor would companies spend millions using survey companies. I know they do because someone I know quite well regularly goes out to canvass people for the likes of Cadbury, Car manufacturer etc. It's her job and the job the people she manages.
If it was not legal, the Utility Warehouse would not have approved the survey produced by one of out distributors. You might think that T+ is some flyby nighnt company but the Stock Exchange dosen't. As a member is it supposed to (and does) abide by its strict regulations.
You're clutching at straws once again Quentin to try and show the company as something it isn't. It doesn't deceive. Distributors don't deceive. Distributors are not taught to deceive. The only person that is deceived is you.

You ask "Why" I quote your post?
Hope this helps answer your "outraged" question. It's another quote from you when you expressed great offence about your wife being brought into "any" discussion here:

You are confusing genuine market surveys with your bogus survey used purely to allow you to get selling.
This is from the TPS site:TPS registration only prevents marketing calls, organisations will still be able to call you for the purposes of genuine market research.
Are you claiming your bogus survey is genuine market research?0 -
It can be interpreted that way. But what difference does it make to you whether or not it is genuine market research or a means of finding out possible interest. Who are you to decide what I and other distributors should do or not do. Your worry is very touching but I doubt is well meant and hearfelt. Nothing you ever say has any real genuineness about it. Your only interest is trying to get as much ammunition to try and do down UW and anyone associated with it.
Why? Quentin. What has the Utility Warehouse ever done to you. Your hatred is out of all proportion? Unless you can answer that then why should I or anyone else take your opinions seriously.
