It is a BT credit card with a pretty poor discount off your telephone bill.

    0.5% for the first £250 then 1% I believe - I don't have one.

    PS £43, LOL!

    .

So how much do you make it?

While you are at it, how much extra for your gas and electricity?

    and your membership fee?

200 texts and 350 wi fi minutes against an 'unobtainable' 24mb

If 20gb is insufficient you can pay an extra £4 monthly for unlimited with BT bringing the total to £35.73.

Incidentally did I see in the T&Cs that there is a penalty for ending UW broadband inside 12 months?

We agree on something :money: By my reckoning, you would need to spend in excess of £12,000 to get that maximum allowed £75 off your BT bill. I'm assuming, being as you are so interested in saving money, you use some sort of cashback card to maximise the returns on your monthly expenditure, though? The AMEX card for grocery/fuel shopping etc?

£45.47* for 99.9999999999% of the GBP  This really is pathetic, I've issued a challenge and so far we have had one stating the way to beat the price is to make personal calls at work and now we have you quoting a figure for phone/BB/calls that is not commercially available to everybody. Just ridiculous. I've even foregone the massive discount I would get with the UW cashback card to try and make it fairer to you lot (because i was genuinely feeling sorry for you in particular, no matter what I think of you as a person I'm a compassionate soul at heart) and STILL you can't do it. It's a bit of a scream, TBH. Perhaps you could highlight one part of my proposed UW deal that is a 'special offer' or 'loyalty incentive' and therefore not available to every potential customer? No, didn't think so...

You've already stated UW not only have amongst the highest gas and leccy prices but ALSO amongst the highest priced telecoms package. I've crazily put them together and asked you get me a cheaper deal and this is all you can come up with? Surely this challenge should be easy peasy given your claims? I'm sure the deal price I've quoted has come as a bit of a shock to you, given the ridiculous claims you previously made about the non-competitive UW products and are now still reeling from the realisation that you can't beat my deal but that's hardly my fault, is it? :p

    * Including the £4.89 per month for the international calls inclusive package.

I'll be charitable and suggest we forget the £4.89 per month needed to upgrade the BT package to inclusive international calls in return for foregoing the WiFi mins, texts and '5gb digital vault' and EVEN INCLUDE the price you allegedly pay that I obviously couldn't get (my deal would be £36.74 and I really don't think even you could query that one. But who knows these days?).

I suppose to keep you on an even keel we must also ignore the fact that you are on a min 18 month contract and effectively tied in on penance of a potentially HUGE 'fine' should you experience the dire level of service the majority of the almost 3,000 users suggest is the case here

That still adds up to £140.88 per year MORE than the phone line/bb/calls element of my proposed deal with UW. Enerhyhelpline tells me on my usage that the cheapest deal is E.on Fixed Blah Balh Blah, with an annual saving of £138 (but of course a fixed tariff until Jun 2010 with a £30 exit fee).

Even allowing all the concessions I have (whch are frankly ridiculous but I don't want to be responsible for you blowing a gasket) and even totally disregarding the huge cashback I would get, my deal is STILL cheaper. Include the projected £433 cashback and it gets a really crazy deal. I know it's hard to believe as I was amazed when I first did the sums but there you are. 12 paper bills a year as well plus the option to reduce the bill further by recommending people who would benefit like I will by taking them up on the deal. It's just one of those twists of fate, I suppose. Get over it. :D

Edit: And take care with those included 350 WiFi minutes, if you're not careful someone might steal them off you.

    my deal would be £36.74

I think we are getting somewhere:beer:

Rather than discuss the pros and cons of each package now(delighted to do so later) can we firstly please establish what your £36.74 covers.
That still adds up to £140.88 per year MORE than the phone line/bb/calls element of my proposed deal with UW.

Secondly, how do you arrive at a figure of £140.88 per year extra?

That is £11.74 a month, which added to your £36.74 is £48.48.

The full BT package for Option3(unlimited), line rental, and unlimited daytime phonecalls is £40.66.

I have just contacted BT and if you sign up for an 18 month contract the first 3 months cost £16.20 saving £73.28 that spread over 18 months, reduces the price by £4.07 to £36.69.

Now of course any money saver should know that BT offer retention deals to existing customers, which is why I get my Option 2 package with all the bells and whistles for £31.73 and to get the Option 3 package would be £35.73.

However initially can you please elaborate on how you reach the figure of £140.88 per year more.

The annual extra cost of £135 for Gas and electricity from UW was noted incidentally but I thought it better to concentrate on the Telecoms package.

I know we have a bit of banter on here and there's a bit of macho posturing going on on both sides etc, but I'm going to be entirely serious now when I say I'm really worried about your state of mind currently, Cardew. I'm not joking or indeed trying to score points either.

Read my post again (and again if you need to) and come back when you are more capable of reasoned argument.

Hint: check out my previous posts and see if this £36.74 figure was mentioned previously.

Further hint: walk away from your PC and watch some TV with your family or summat. Chill out. Seriously. I genuinely feel guilty about winding you up to this state :o

Which is of course your way of not answering the questions I posed when you have realised that you are mistaken; and of course the normal disingenuous line that we have come to associate with your contributions.

Look of we are to discuss this rationally, let us take it one step at a time(as footballers would say) so why not give your reasons for suggesting that the BT package is £140.88 more than your package?
