    Carmine.

How much cheaper could you get your gas and electricity rather than obtaining it from UW?

How much would my BT package cost from UK?

    UK?

Matey, we still haven't managed to establish what the TRUE cost of your BT package is yet. I ask you again, how much does £20.54 plus £11.25 plus £4.95 show as on your calculator?

    PS Welcome back.

I still don't understand why he would need the £4.95 unlimited calls package. He only claims to have free evening and weekend calls.

Thank you for your correction of my typo; that is by a long way the most constructive post you have made on this thread!

The cost of the BT package doesn't matter - if you want to believe it is £xxx so be it. All I am asking is what UW would charge for a similar package.

Plus of course how much extra you will be paying UW for your gas and electricity?

That really is a pathetic riposte. You are clearly rattled, you very rarely make typos. So, now the cost of your BT package doesn't matter?:confused: You've been found out AGAIN (the last time was your ridiculous claim that French & Saunders were advertising UW on the TV most nights which you had to retract and apologise for because it was an untruth). Seriously, how you can then accuse me of having no credibility is frankly worrying.

    Mark,

Is that referring to my BT package? If so the free evening and weekend calls are on my second telephone line. I get unlimited calls on my main line.

    I pay £31.73 a month(including VAT) to BT for:

    line rental,

    all geographic calls free 24/7,

200 free texts a month, Sent from phone or PC

Wireless Broadband hub with 20gb monthly,

free McAfee comprehensive security package, - firewall, anti-virus etc

    call minder,

    caller display

    Free 0870/0845 telephone Nos

    5gb digital vault

a second(internet) phone line with a separate telephone number(calls to many countries abroad 1.25p/min and evening/weekend domestic calls free),

350 minutes a month free internet access on BT Openzone for a laptop(for all my family).

The ability to interrogate BT call minder from abroad.

    Freephone help line.

In addition I get the occasional discounts like reduced rental for 3 months etc.

If 20gb is insufficient I can get unlimited downloads plus unlimited wi-fi minutes for laptops in hot spots for an extra £4 monthly.

It is this package that I am trying to get Carmine or any of the many UW reps to price.

I bet you they know the cost would be huge and I doubt that many of the features on the BT package are available.

I would estimate the cost for the BT package from UW at around £45.

Plus of course a huge amount extra for gas and electricity.

anyone who has a clue about prices knows, that UW are very very expensive and it is only that they sell such an overpriced product to unsuspecting friends and family that lets them keep up this charade that UW have competitive prices.

The problem for uw reps is once they have exhausted their friends and relatives, they have to try other means.

They have hit on the idea of using youtube to advertise their wares.

Needless to say they do this in the usual misleading way they post here. The great thing for the uw is the ASA doesn't have any jurisdictiction over false advertising on the net.

    eg: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpB0rbgWWSc&NR=1

Note the downright lies, and the conspicuous lack of mention of having to join a club and pay a monthly fee for that on top of everything else.

    Lies include:

    1) We guarantee you will pay less than BG and your local electricity supplier

    2) Other companies may seem cheaper, that's because what they do is give you a good offer for 6/12 months but tie you in to a 3 year deal which is very expensive for the remaining 2 years.

    3) No minimum contract for energy (in fact in their ts + cs they insist on 28 days written notice if you want to leave)

    4) If you cancel your broadband within 12 months you must pay £50 for the router - in fact you must return the router whenever you cancel, and pay £50 as well if you cancel within 12 months.

    5) BT line rental is around £4 more than uw charge.

Additionally the Which report is used (against which's rules) to show uw as the "best buy", and following on from the great gary telling us their monthly billing system is the only one in Europe (which we have seen is hopelessly wrong anyway), this guy goes further, and tells us it's the only company in the world able to produce a single bill each month!

I really am happy for you to use an abacus or a calculator.

If you simply post the additional price for all the extras we will add them up for you.

    e.g.
    Wireless = £5
    call minder = £2
    caller display = £2
    Additional phone = £2
    200 texts = ???
    350 wi-fi minutes = ???
Comprehensive McAfee security package = ???
    5gb digital vault = ???

Would you agree £45 would be about correct?

From memory I think we established that UW will charge you approx £150 extra for your gas and electricity - but as you so rightly point out it might cost you a £30 penalty to leave some of the cheap tariffs.
