New prices make the deal for me (Gas and Leccy only) £70.37 per month. Just £2.26 more per month than if I was on Cardew's super duper 2010 BG Fix....that he's been paying since 2005. Makes you think, doesn't it? ;)

Adding in broadband/phone/24/7 calls incl 0845/0870/free CS calls etc etc brings it up to £90.36 per month. LESS than I would be paying on the very cheapest online tariff for gas and electricity only. Again, makes you think, doesn't it? ;)

    More in his inimitable style!

Of course if he were on my 'super duper april 2010 fix' he would be paying £453.01 less than he will be paying with UW's latest prices.

According to Energylinx(the one UW use) someone using 6000/15000kWh for elec/gas in Yorkshire would be paying £817.87 on the BG tariff against £1270.88(£105.91 not £70.37) using UW latest prices.

Presumably he is using the discount from the £6,000 he has to spend in designated shops with the UW card to fudge the figures. even then £6000 @5% is £300 less paying for card and top up fees will be less than £300

Someone really ought to show him that he can still get cheap gas and electricity from the Big 6 and get his beloved card by taking only Phone and Broadband from UW - it is obviously an inferior product and he will pay more than other suppliers, but it will be a lot better than having to have all 4 services from UW.

he answered the question he was asked, not the sub-text.

    Another attempt to mislead.

I have reproduced the question and answer in full (see post #1858)

So where is the "sub-text" you now refer to?

    Dearest dearest Quentin

Is this what you are referring to:
Question to NigeWick of the uw:
    Quote:
You are a uw rep who presumably gets staff deals and discounts on their bills that ordinary joes cannot.
    Quote:

Now please tell me where you asked about anything other than "staff deals and discounts on their bills"

The answer is, in spite of your repeated posts - Nope. Distributors pay the same for their services that other customers do.

    Or, to rephrase it differently.........

The bill I receive from UW is the same as the bill I would receive if I wasn't a distributor. I do not get staff deals and discounts on my bill. Is that clearer?

The sub-text is you thinking that we can mind-meld with you and answer the question that you never asked.

    Very best wishes

Getting answers to uw questions from the reps who post here is nigh on impossible.

But now we have an insight into their training, maybe that's the culture of uw.

We read this on the worthless guarantee training webpage:

    http://www.networkerplus.co.uk/videos/triple-value-guarantee-wayne-coupland.html
To market our energy services effectively, it is highly recommended that we avoid getting into the details...

    And this invitation:
If you get this right, our energy services sell themselves. Having watched this video, take a moment to evaluate No Detail Required

No Detail Required trains reps on the uw method of how reps should deal with any questions:

    Really.

So the reductions are between zero and 9%?

Care to give examples of the 9%/

I have seen a couple of zero percentage reductions.

What would you consider 'average' 2%?

I have put in several geographic areas and they all seem pretty consistent.

I have also been told verbally by a UW rep that 2% is about average for dual fuel.

I suppose we will have a headline from UW of 'reductions up to 9%'

Carmine will be thrilled with up to 9% - it is almost as much as the BG reductions he was so upset about.

    P.S.
A 74 year old 'on your team' and is near executive director level, So what is your position?

A high electricity user in swalec region would have priced reduced about 9%. and also similar in northern region ofr high user as well. Its seems they forgot about yorkshire though for electric reduction but it was the lower there already.

saying between 0 and 9% would be about accurate because it depends on where you are and your usage. I bet if you looked at BG reductions there will be places places in country where its more of a reduction than others.

It will be in line with the the guarantee to be competitive compared against standard rates though.

The 74 year old distributor wants to be a Marketing Director, he just told me. I won't stop him. Lets hope he lives to 100 to enjoy his income on top of his pension. The average age is about 50 for distributors I guess. People tend to think of us as being young reps like the door to door knockers the big 6 send out. A lot of the successful ones are now approaching retirement age. People do it to top up their pension for when they retire. We should call it OAPW I guess. There are younger people doing it as well but at express day there seems an awful lot around 50 or so.

Got to go out again now.

Yes. You confirm exactly what I said. uw reps mislead us with their posts.

Your "rephrase" puts an entirely different slant on the answer originally given.

There was no ambiguity. This is what he posted:
Distributors pay the same for their services that other customers do

To anyone (but you it seems), the answer (to my suggestion there may be discounts/special prices for reps which ordinary customers cannot get) encompasses all reps.

    .

The BG announcements are in this format:
An average annual gas fuel bill will fall by 10% to £793*

    Notes

*Based on average annual consumption of 20,500 kWh, is a rounded average across all regions and an average across the Monthly Direct Debit, Pay as You Go Energy and Prompt Quarterly Cash or Cheque methods of payment on our standard tariff prices

So for UW it presumably be fair to say that 2% would be your average?

I would imagine there will also be people who have made simply disastrous stock market investments in the last couple of years who would be looking to top up their income as well, vinnyph. 3,100 new distributors on-board in the last 3 months is an extraordinary figure, isn't it?

Yes just think of all those pensioners telling people about UW, how can UW fail. The country won't have to pay so much pension credit as a result either.

Actually quite seriously there is a pension defecit looming. Unless something is done or people sort a pension out for themsleves the Financial Services Association (reglator) have said that 70% of pensioners will be living below the breadline when they retire in 30 years.

I see UW as another opportunity of a pension for people. I am getting off topic though.

You forget we saw you all and learnt what went on at express day in big al's talk to you all on mind manipulation on how to deal with any contact who doesn't believe what you tell them.

    http://www.networkerplus.co.uk/videos/rejection-free-presentation-big-al.html

How do you actually express yourself? The reps just seem to sit and listen to the "motivational" claptrap. (And laugh when big al said things about "prospects" like "so what we need to do is learn how to manipulate their minds...make them say whatever we want them to - they're not using their mind anyway, somebody needs to use it")

    From big al's web page:
Control their mind and freeze their brain with four words..."I just found out...", "there are two types of people in the world", "if you are willing to fill out a simple one page form then, you could get a disscount on all of your utilities",
