Are you suggesting TP are operating a pyramid selling scheme ?

    Article here on MLM/Pyramid selling:

This extract does sound like the way uw works as shown in their martini presentation
A pyramid presentation may take many forms, but there is one thing that they all have in common, they will draw charts showing vast wealth in short time, from, it would appear, quite modest numbers of people in your downline.

Are you actually saying that Utility Warehouse are operating an unlawful business? Or just trying to insinuate it by careful use of "hints"?

I think you find I said 'resembled'.

To my knowledge a pyramid selling scheme involves selling a service or product to another, where in turn you recieve a commission from any future sales they make, not sales you directly make yourself. Its the last segment of the video which as I said called it 'senior executive gold'.

And please reps dont get all defensive and agitated. Ive simply watched video presentation reputedly showing how UW recruits its distributors and I passed comment, and asked other for their opinion.

Oh dear, I was afraid that would be your definition. Don't feel bad because I reckon that would be most people's definition.

Just wondering what it is specifically that people don't like about MLM?

Is it that they think people get money for just for recruiting others.

In UW, distributors don't get paid for just for recruiting others as a distributor. It's not until those new distributors get 12 customers in their first 90 days that a Team Building Bonus is paid. That person will need help to achieve that as well at the start. The new person will earn a lot more than the team building bonus as well. The reason it is done that way is to get people to help their new distributor to get started. Just recruiting people who don't get help will not build a successful team. You have to be willing to help lots of people in your team in order to build a successful team. You do your work and you earn your money.

MLM is regulated by the office of fair trading. It is actually against the regulations to have a network marketing/MLM company have a system where people just get paid for recruiting.

I would not want to be part of a business where people just get paid for recruiting people and earn off their work. Actually a recruitment agency works exactly like that but people don't complain and call it funny names.

The videos do give some clues.

That uw martini presentation did mention getting £1000 bonus for just recruiting 3 people. The "contact" was lead down the martini pathway in a few minutes from getting a fiver for finding a new customer to sign up for gas and electricity to supplying 3 names to join his team to get the grand!

The affiliate scheme that the price comparison sites use has a pyramid structure.

Any large business in the western world has a pyramid structure. People tend to start at the bottom and work their way up. The people get paid more at the top, and the work is done by people at the bottom.
