    HI Cardew

How can this be right? What about the Triple Value Guarantee? Does this mean that the comparison sites are incorrect, or does it mean......

Hopefully, if you check tomorrow they will have shot up the table (a bit).

On a serious note, the TVG does get realigned tomorrow and, as far as I can tell, they will be cheaper than BG for Gas and the "Big 6" for Electricity, subject to all the T&C's.

Is this the practice of using terms and conditions to rule out all the tariffs which will be cheaper than UW?

It would still mean them taking advantage of gullible punters.

If anyone wants to use prepayment cards, then there are genuine discount shopping schemes where you can get the same "discount" offered by the uw card. The difference is the discount is off the shopping.

So people don't need to "waste" their uw card "discount" just to get their utilities back into the ballpark of prices. Just have the cheaper prices from normal suppliers, and then get the money off their shopping. (And use a bank/building society card rather than the risky uw one).

Its a free country, every business loves a rich (or poor) idiot. Unless they have a medical condition makes them vulnerable, they can make as many daft decisions as they like.

I would like to read detailed figures of how many UW customers have used their card enough to match a cheaper alternative tariff from a different supplier.

Despite what we have now seen from your ho about the TVG being nothing but a sales tool, you still seem to be saying it has some sort of legal standing??

I wish the reps on here can just say, 'yes we are damn expensive, but with thought and little hard work its possible to be cheaper than traditional utility suppliers'.

Can we agree on the last statement?

Where uw take advantage is getting their reps to bring their nearest and dearest in with them.

eg It's tough to realise (or spot) your enthusiastic and earnest relative is conning you into thinking you'll get the best deal on all your utilities - "guaranteed"!

You mean of course, only wanting what you think they should want and not what they might want for themselves?

    No I don't.

That quote as you show it is out of context.

    I said:

    Hi jimexbox

No, I can't agree with the last statement as you would expect. :D

    What I can say is....

    1. For your gas, UW guarantee their prices will always be cheaper than British Gas, wherever you live in the UK.

    2. For your electricity, UW guarantee their prices will always be cheaper than the prices charged by the regional electricity supplier for the area where you live.

    3. And for your complete peace of mind UW guarantee their prices will always remain competitive compared to the cheapest standard tariffs available from the "Big 6" suppliers

Subject to the caveats previously mentioned ad nauseam

and with their range of other award winning and great value products and services they represent a credible alternative in todays market.

Can we all agree on this statement? :grouphug:

Interesting clip, so online and dual fuel prices are excluded. If recommended by UW to transfer gas and electric, you are effectively dual fuel. Which their amazing 'triple guarantee' price comparison specifically excludes. Slightly confusing, any rep care to elaborate.....
