    Welcome back!

All your previous posts seem to have been deleted, presumably because you cannot resist making personal attacks.

Now whilst this quoted post is not an attack, it adds nothing to the forum. Why can you not address some UW issues and stop making silly posts.

Actually not, I deleted them myself. UW have decided to take action against certain individuals on the forum for misrepresentation. I did warn you about these. I just don't take misrepresentation seriously myself.

I suggest taking down any messages that could be deemed slander in any way.

You are saying that there are no discounts, apart from the various call packages. Therefore, surely this means there are savings (discounts) by taking more services. Also, could you explain to me the phrase "if you take their (expensive) phone rental" - The phone rental is currently £8.99 - this doesn't sound excessively expensive to me for a "BT" line.

There are no discounts at all (ie the services don't get any cheaper the more you have).

Your only concession comes if people take the phone line as well.

In that case, there is "discount" on the phone line, just some free calls depending on the time of day you call and how many other services taken. You easily pay for your "free" calls by way of the extra cost of the other services.

When you say the phone line is £8.99, you don't tell the full story.

In fact there is a minimum £1 charge for calls on top of the rental (not seen with your competitors!). This takes it to £10. You must pay by dd, otherwise its another 10% (£11). If the phone is all you take, then you have to add on the monthly membership fee too - then its costs go up another £1.73 a month!

For £10.72 you can get line rental from the post office with unlimited free calls every evening and all weekend, free calls to mobiles all weekend, free international calls (20 destinations) all weekend all included, as well as 24/7 free calls to other post office customers, and pay by any means you like without surcharge.

I don't respond normally to any of 'Carmine's' posts. However as this has been posted several times, I will make an exception.

All of the savings are of course dependant on spending £6000 in other shops on a cashcard.

    So a better deal?

Just get phone rental from UW and the cashcard.

Get gas, electricity, broadband from cheap suppliers.

:j :j :j He's no longer pretending to ignore me. Progress. What about free 24/7 inclusive calls by taking out the gas & electric also? No min. contract (just £50 exit fee if you leave in the first 12 months). Up to 24mb BB? Your package with BT would give me circa £180 a year to 'play' with. Even if I didn't use the cashback card once I'd get the cheapest deal for me on the market. Fact.

    3. I doubt you will get anyone on here to explain the guarantee, as it would appear to be meaningless.

It is if you are thinking about it as a "guarantee".

But not meaningless for the uw. Their explanation is it is a "sales tool" thought up to "make getting energy customers easier"

I make a lot of local calls during the day, Quentin. Any idea how much PO Phone charge per minute for these? *** And why don't they do a 24/7 deal?

*** 3.915p per minute plus 5.75p per call connection charge. Not good. A 10 minute call to a friend across the city would cost a total of 44.9p!! One 10 min local call! Times that by 30 days-worth...

Getting phone rental from uw would be like buying any other service - expensive! Though you could at least get some cashback once you earned enough via the card to clear the phone bill - the card ts + cs say any credit remaining on the uw bill gets refunded to your bank.

Or get a proper cashcard if you want to get discounts off shopping at Sainsbury's etc. This type of discount scheme the reps go on about isn't a unique benefit from the uw! Better to have a bank/building society prepay card with discount schemes than get the uw one with its attached risks.

By the time the dust settles UW will have 300,000 customers. A good result today

Please name the rogue reps that you refer to in order that something can be done about the situation.

Once before you naively posted that you don't see these posts from rogue reps.

It was pointed out to you that they get deleted, and you apologised to me for the inference you were making that no uw reps mislead.

I wrote without thinking it through. I am not on here all the time and obviously miss posts that have been deleted before I see them. I've apologised to PlushChris, so the least I can do is say sorry to you too. Sorry.

Here's one rogue (pretending not to be a uw rep, giving misleading info, using the forum to advertise, posting their phone number, etc) still on view:

It does not have to be unique as long as it works for those who choose it. I chose to pay the least for my utilities by buying from Utility Warehouse and using the pre payment card to best advantage. I am happy with my decision. You did not choose it and appear to be unhappy with the fact that others do choose the company. I live with the fact that many people choose British Gas, Eon, nPower, Southern Electric etc. You're going to have to live with the fact many people are different to you and would be happy to choose Utility Warehouse.
