No it isn't.
Read up on just what they say.
Then realise it's just a scam "guarantee".
It doesn't guarantee anything at all, but if you tell all your friends and relatives you are giving them a guarantee to be the cheapest are they going to expect you to lie to them?0 -
I'm not going to.
My general pitch to g&e customers is "i know you get everyman and his dog knocking at your door, talking to you about saving money on gas and electric, but I dont know whether I can or not, all i can do is try, who is your current supplier"
Its the honest approach, can have a laugh and a joke with people and to be honest i dont know whether i can.
As i said, EVERY provider claims to give savings, so y not be a bit different and say, "i dont know whether I can or not!"

Maybe i used the wrong word guarentee in my first post (but UW website does say guarentees savings under gas and electric).
And by putting in low usage examples they do seem to be cheaper than medium and high rate users.NatWest Loan - £12,090.06 Mum/Dad - £14,750 TOTAL £26,840.06As of 01/01/2010 - DFW Date - 01/12/2014 59 MONTHS TO GO0 -

Trouble is you are going to have to knock on a lot of doors if you want to find only people who will save on their gas and electric with uw.
Even their most hardened reps have admitted on here it can't be done!
All you need to do to see this is do some virtual quotes in any switching site to see how far down the page of results you have to look to find the uw!0 -

If that is true, then they are just doing more false advertising (nothing new there!). (Though I doubt it is true. We are told by their reps that the company take a dim view on any reps coming onto websites and bringing them into disrepute by making false and misleading claims like this)0 -

This really is nonsense. You seem to assume that the vast majority of the public are like the regulars on here - they aren't! I reckon you could walk down every street in the land and save the majority of people money with UW (same if you were selling the products of any other Big 6 company). Reason being most people have been on their (normally ridiculously expensive) tariffs for years and years and haven't even been bothered to even look into changing let alone take the plunge. What sort of %tage of the GBP do you reckon are paying not a penny more for their gas and electricity than they have to? 0.5%? 0.05%?Call me Carmine....

Its one of those trial and errors.
I need 36 leads for the utility warehouse, whether that be phone, bb, mobile, gas or electric. This will pay for my training course, give me a laptop from the brokerage and also pay for my first month broker fee.
After this point i will be doing finiacial reviews within mortgage interviews. Obv using uw to look at the utilities too!NatWest Loan - £12,090.06 Mum/Dad - £14,750 TOTAL £26,840.06As of 01/01/2010 - DFW Date - 01/12/2014 59 MONTHS TO GO0 -

Why not be very different and point them in the direction of comparison sites
Alright, maybe not that different - Ebico already appears to suggest potential customers do just that
http://www.ebico.co.uk/html/e_cheapelectric.php
http://www.ebico.co.uk/html/g_cheapgas.php
Then allow a potential customer to really find out who will be their cheapest supplier "Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Because I need to earn money, if i cant help them with the product I am selling then I do suggest going to a comparison website.NatWest Loan - £12,090.06 Mum/Dad - £14,750 TOTAL £26,840.06As of 01/01/2010 - DFW Date - 01/12/2014 59 MONTHS TO GO0

How far do Ebico actually take this 'ethical' stance, though? For instance, if I signed up with them today on my usage (15000 gas, 6000 leccy), requesting to pay by monthly DD, don't have pre-payment meters and it's absolutely clear, for people 'in the know' (i.e. approx .005% of the GBP) that I would be much better off financially elsewhere (including, funnily enough, UW even without making use of the cashback card)...would they ring me and advise me to not go ahead with the move?Call me Carmine....
