you never properly gave us your figures/location so that we could test what you were telling us.
As posted 19/1/09 at 6:17pm by me:-
I worked out my usage for a month as shown in a previous message.
UW Gas 90p Subscription Monthly Charge £1.52 and 3.616p per kWh £19.40
Ebico 472 kWh £17.79
Difference Ebico is £1.61 cheaper
UW Electricity 90p Subscription £4.73 monthly charge Day rate 15.21p £38.84
Night rate 3.657p
British Gas first 41.66 kWh 28.403p then 10.375p Day rate £ 32.19
Night Rate 4.590p
195-41.66= 153.34 x 10.375= £15.91
41.66 x 28.403 = £11.83
97 x 4.590 = £4.45
Difference British Gas is £6.64 cheaper
£6.64 + 1.61 = £8.25 Total cheaper.
Cashback off my utilities by using the Debit Card is £12.59 That minus £8.25 deficit = £4.65 better off with UW.
This of course does not take into account the fact that I have six services from UW and that would reduce the Subscription for these two a little. I also took off (from £13.59) £1 for the monthly card fee (there is a one off £10 set up fee too), although there is then no fee for the first six months. All spending happened to be in Sainsbury where I do most of my grocery shopping. I do also occasionally shop in Boots and Argos. When I want fuel, I wait until I am going to spend £50 in Sainsbury and then fill up getting 5% off the cost of my diesel. I can manage this because I walk to work and only generally use the car for longer journeys.
I am happy that I have a reasonable deal on my landlines, broadband and my wife's old mobile phone. Nitpickers will pick on the card's £10 set up fee but I am not concerned because I will still be well ahead over the course of time. The mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.

The "experts" here cannot help you until you tell us where you are (as you know, there are different prices for energy from the suppliers dependent on your location).
But as you admit that your uw energy isn't the cheapest, is there any point continuing the comparisons?
You choose to spend at Sainsbury's to save on your electricity via the risky cashcard. Why not get cheaper electricity in the first place and make savings with a normal safe cashback credit card?0 -

I think I'm experiencing deja vu here. :rotfl: I'm assuming all those who shop at Sainsburys are idiots according to Quentin?.
Quentin, its' now been DEMONSTRATED by myself and Nigel that UW is the cheapest energy supplier for both of us, and would also be the cheapest energy supplier for millions of others if they wanted to go for it. CHEAPEST, not 'they give you 12 paper bills a year and all the services on one bill and one DD, plus their CS is 100% UK-based, you can recommend people and get a discount off your bill etc etc so they are worth considering. No. The CHEAPEST. CHEAPER than any other supplier. For us. Please stop talking rot in a desparate attempt to mask the fact that you've absolutely and utterly lost the battle on this one. Maybe UW brought the card out to personally embarrass you?'Cos, fact is, in one move they have taken away your one, all-pervading argument and at the same time deflated that Hugh Jeego of yours. Any company that can do that desrves my custom.

Again and again you post here and break the rules imposed on here for uw reps.
You recently touted for business via the pm system which isn't allowed.
Now you again post without declaring your interest.

Again and again you post here and break the rules imposed on here for uw reps. Do I? So, why are you getting your knickers in a twist about it? Do you work for a competitor? I won't hold my breath for your honest answer to this one! Seems to me you've got an unhealthy hatred obsession going on here.
You recently touted for business via the pm system which isn't allowed. No, I didn't. Prove it.
Now you again post without declaring your interest. I was merely agreeing with another poster, what's the biggie?
