Did most of the weekly shop at Mr S last night. Came in at £51.51 so I will have to see how long I can go before buying the meat and extra fruit. Struggling with fruit at the moment as we are between seasons. Store cupboards are full so lots of baking and pulses coming up!

    Good luck everyone! :j

No plans to go to the shop today so I safe in saying I came in under budget by a good quarter in March. That said I am running out of nearly everything including dog and cat food, plus we have five visitors for a couple of days over Easter which will be expensive.

I am going to budget £50 extra for that weekend, and aim for £400 for everything else. Keeping track via my signature. Thanks for the thread and the support.

H&B have sharwoods stir fry sachets at 10p each (same ones are £1.99/12 on approved foods) and blue dragon miso soup at 29p. Also Lidl for the £1.39/300g pork medallions.

Hi all, i'm back to this for April as we have a lot of stuff to pay out for (including 5 children managing to kill their school shoes all at the same time!) this month and the challenge keeps me focussed, so for 2 adults (1 doing slimming world so tons of fruit and veg), a veggie 16 yr old, sports mad hollow legged 12 yr old and 4 other children aged 7-10 I am aiming for

    £400 MAX

Usually have seven lunchboxes to sort but with schools off for a fortnight that should help although this lot eat as if it were an olympic sport.....

Got the lidl pork medallions in today to start off April. The weekend offers are always superb:T

Spiced rice for tea with a side salad. Will add more chick peas n veg to it though.
I'm not a traditionalist. We have roast dinners when suitable whoopsies turn up, not because it's Sunday!!

Feel chuffed that I am cutting down on our meat consumption. As I have done the bulk of cooking this week, oh had no choice but to eat my veggie meals :D

Only spent £26 out of my £30 budget last week do feel that it was a cracking introduction to prepare for Aprils challenge of £130!!!

All the best guys. An loving the meal pictures too. Keep em coming!!!:T

  • Thanks for the welcomes and advice (sorry, don't know how to do multiquotes).

This weekend has been totally no spend so that's a good start. Will need some bread tomorrow and have to have a think about how to deal with work lunches.
  • Was all set to head off to Mr T, armed with the £5 off £40 MOC DM sent me yesterday and my £10 moneycard (complaint) ..... and realised the MOC doesn't start until tomorrow!

So .... popped to Mr A instead for a few bits and came in at £17.25 so not too bad. Few bits of YS veg so will be chopping & freezing later one.
