Have taken the day off work today cos of the predicted snow and planning to do a batch cook/ freeze session. I'm planning to make chilli con carne, spag bol, lamb stew, spanish chicken and soup.
Slow cooker is ready to roll as are all my large pans.
Then i'll do a stock take of the freezer and put the list on the fridge door.
Other plans over this weekend are to do the coin sorting and do my online banking that I didn't do the other night. Decided because of the weather I'm not going to start the decorating I hoped to do. Even with preparation and sanding I like to keep the front door open to reduce the dust and smell of wood primer. No chance of that the way the snow's coming down here!
Right, cuppa time and then get started. Really looking forward to the batch cook. Should be fun. :j0 -
Right the chilli, bolognaise sauce and spanish chicken are all cooling in their tubs and the lamb casserole is in the slow cooker. I think we'll have that for tea tonight cos by the time I've played foodie tetris with the tubs and freezer I'm gonna struggle to squeeze any more in, even when I take out the sunday roast to defrost.
having a choccy milkshake (yeh really!) before tackling the coin sorting. Still in pj's and i might just stay that way today. Snow really thick here and still coming down. No plans to go anywhere till Monday now. Nice0 -
Its an easy peasy recipe Calfuray. Put pan fried chicken pieces with a chopped onion, 4 crushed garlic cloves, tin of tomatoes, 2 tablespoons mixed herbs and a pint of chicken stock. All popped in a casserole pot and hob cooked for half an hour
I then thicken it with a bit of cornflour.

Penny pot update: It's official..I've lost the plot according to my nearest n' dearest. Well, i guess it must look a bit desperate what i've been doing the past hour. Been scouring drawers, handbags and coat pockets for loose change. Sympathetic looks came in thick and fast as Pix went round the house with a few of those ickle plastic money bags. BUT... I've now got £10 to put into the OP pot, plus the £24 in £2 coins (see siggy below). Remortgage hasn't been finalised yet so I'm going to sit on the money till it is , then wham!
Told OH this morning that I plan to clear my mortgage in 7 years. He told me I was bonkers (well, what he actually said was "it's not doable") which only spurred me on to make it doable! Even if the goal isn't achieved, you gotta be in the race to win it, right?
Using the last of my frozen puff pastry to do puffy pizza's tonight. I need space in the freezer for all the batch cook tubs that are crammed in the fridge. Not even space for wine in there right now. That's serious! So puffy pizza it is.
Right, off to check my ebay stuff and clear some of my spare room. It's a right tip but until I can get some storage in there I can't really do much but there's a load of carp in there that needs sorting and putting in the loft so wish me luck.0 -

I was standing in a queue in a shop the other week, and say a penny on the ground that I really wanted, however I ended up leaving it as stupid pride got in the way:cool:
I did find a penny on my garden path yesterday and picked THAT one up, however it didn't have the same feeling of smug satisfaction as was probably mine in the first place:(
