I've got 2 boxes of em and plenty of good intentions. But intentions don't fill them full of jam/pickle/chutney. I keep saying "on my next week off i will use them".... and the week ends .... and it's off to the shop to buy the ready made variety :(

    One day Tilly, one day......

3rd attempt to put a diary entry in here. Using OH's laptop and it keeps losing all the message after about 3 lines worth so now using word document to write then will paste into the forum.
Basically I'm slacking on the MSE front cos I'm not keeping track of my money balance. So...jobs for this week include:

    * doing said money balance..scary cos I know i've overspent but I'm due 2 months of travel allowance, and also 2 months of increased salary thanks to promotion so hopefully that will be sorted on the 27th (pay day).
    * counting up all loose change, including £1 and £2 coins (I think it's about £20 in the jar).
    * photographing a few items ready for fleabay free listing weekend.
Wardrobe news: I have had to change my order cos I mis-measured and the one I ordered is too tall for the bedroom. So went for a smaller one...and because it's a non-stock item I've had to pay £80 more. It will also take about a month longer to deliver. But being philosophical about things, I now can have the pale wood that I wanted, instead of the darker wood that is the stock item and at least it will be useable as opposed to having a wardrobe that won't fit!
Ok..so that's my not so MSE news. And on the upbeat, 5 things I am grateful for today:

    - My daughter beat over 100 applicants for a job she wanted. Now has a permanent job instead of a temp one :)
    - Sunshine. She and I sat in the garden yesterday for a few hours and now have a healthy glow....ok ok...a bit of a reddy glow but it's still colour ;) No it's not a hot flush. I'm not of "that age" quite yet!
    - Salad. I made a lovely salad with all sorts of colours in it today for work lunch and it tasted lush.
    - My OH, who made a lovely dinner tonight without me lifting a finger as it was sorted as I came in the door.

Hmmmm...that's only 4, and the first 2 were from the weekend. Will dig more out next time :)

Jeez...a whole month since I've been on here!!!
    Helloooo....... :)

And as a result of my lapse in getting on here, the wagon has tipped me off beam and I fell off it good style. I have no idea where my bank balance is up to so that's a job for Thursday when I get paid. I can't face it until then cos, yeah I'm scared stiff of just how much overdrawn I am. Hopefully I will get my 3 months overdue mileage money in this month's pay. Been spending far too much on food and booked a holiday..so that's scuppered a big chunk of savings too. ah well. Something nice to look forward to and gives some meaning into getting up for the daily grind of work I guess.

On a sunnier note, my wardrobes arrived yesterday and they're absolutely gorgeous. The delivery men took half an hour to construct it. Would have taken OH and I all day lol

Also, I bought some really lovely strawberries the other day and am going to make jam with them to give as pressies for birthdays. I also want to do some type of marmalade or chutney to be given with them depending on what gets reduced in the shops. So it's not all bad news hey?

Off to hull and halve the strawberries and will then try to catch up on the month work of diary entries. Happy days.

Well I did my money balancing act tonight and it's not as bad as I thought! Hopefully if I get the backdated expenses from work on the 27th I'll be in the black again :) Onward and upward....
5 things I am grateful for today:
    * My hairdresser...rescued me from an overgrown fringe..and I can see again!
    * Reasonably healthy bank balance
    * Climbing back on the mortgage free wagon
    * My savings, allowing me to pay for my holiday :)

    I got the backdated expenses...woohoo!!
The jam was a bit too firm so with the advice of a jam expert work colleague i figured I need to marinate the fruit for a shorter time in the sugar. Am off to Lake**nd tomorrow for a jam funner and nice jars to use in preserve presents. The ones I have are used and nice for home or family store cupboard use but as my plan is to make a lot of my birthday and christmas gifts home-made it seems right to buy new jars.

Found a local sewing class that runs in the evening so plan to get involved in that. OH and DD have been asking when I can take their curtains up so need to learn properly, especially as I want to make my curtains too :)

Off to drink Gin....just cos I can. Have a lovely weekend xx
