And the race against time to get my financial act together goes on...
At least I got my mileage claim for work in on time this month so hopeful of it appearing in pay end of July.
Have loads of stuff to do this weekend....fence painting/ new wardrobe filling/ ebay photographing/ jam making..etc
But right now pyjamas and beddybyes sounds about right. Another day at the treadmill of life ahead tomoz xx0 -
Well that was a weekend that was. Have been at an evening do last night and needed shoes to go with the dress I was wearing. Cue pix arriving in a department store and spotting a gorgeous pair of pink ones reduced from £60 to £14...bargain. Except that the also had them in purple and blue with matching bags which weren't so cheap...total bill £175!!!! Oh dear. Well at least I put it on the CC and will get Te**o points. As I pay off the card every month in full I may have to dip into the savings pot but prob not cos my salary increase will cover a chunk of it. Ah well... getting concerned about the bruising I get every time the wagon tips but hey ho

I need to make a real effort to get on here more often cos that will get me back on the straight road to MFW
Hope all of you had a better MSE weekend than me xx0 -
Three pairs of shoes PLUS three handbags for £175 is pretty good going Pix.....when you break it down it works out at less than £30 a piece, which is, realistically not so bad
February13 - £74990 (or thereabouts)
MND - Let's go for 2020 'cos it's got a nice ring to it:D
C'mon nattypants:cool:0 -
Count a pair of shoes as two items and it brings the cost down even furthernattypants wrote: »Three pairs of shoes PLUS three handbags for £175 is pretty good going Pix.....when you break it down it works out at less than £30 a piece, which is, realistically not so bad
. A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
Mortgage Balance = £0

Thanks both of you cos that makes it seem not so drastic
Phew!
I'm off work for a week now so hoping to get on here a bit more with no overtime distractions to bug me. Tried to log in yesterday morning all set to catch up on everyone's diary I subscribe to and the forums were down..on the upside of that I started spring cleaning. Have blitzed the house over the last 2 days and now it's me time..yessss!!!
Managed to finish this month with £46 in the black so well chuffed with that. Going to try to make it £100 next month. Well you never know.
Right, off to do a diary catch up. Have a lovely Sunday

Oh dear
I started to read diaries on here and 2 mns later a friend came to the door and we had a 3 hour cuppa and catch up. Just about to go do dinner now so diaries will have to wait again.
Rain coming down heavily here so no need to water the tomatoes or flowers tonight. I have 2 tomatoes turning orange and one all red...that's part of tomorrow's tea sorted
Talking of food.....veg needs peeling....0 -
Oh dear oh my... a month's gone by without logging in on here. Been major stuff going on though in fairness that's knocked me and my family sideways and kinked all my mfw plans right out of the window. Both kids have had medical needs present themselves since my last diary entry but at last I think the status quo might be getting back again. However, by taking my eye off the financial ball I'm not in a brilliant place but it couldbe a lot worse. Being in the red at the beginning of the month is never a good thing. Have just done my money balance and was absolutely terriified to do it, but pushed myself to cos pretending all's well is never a good thing. Will have to dip into my tiny savings pot for holiday spends but as we're going all inclusive there won't be much needed thank goodness!
I need to retrace my steps a penny at a time now so I gotta plan... gonna count up my £2 coins (about £30 worth i think), have a tootle around the MSE website, read diaries on here and get as many coupons as I can printed out. The printing will have to wait till tomorrow as I'm puppy sitting until tomorrow for daughter and if he chews the printer wire i'm goosed
Ok, off I go.... wish me luck cos I think I'm going to need lots of that!!!0 -
Gloom and Doom Alert!!!!! Read at your own risk!
Guess what? Another month has gone past and I've achieved.... precisely nought, zilch, nada on the MSE/ MFW front!! Oh well I have...managed to increase the amount I'm overdrawn at the bank. Gas and electricity supplier have increased my DD payment by £50 a month, all other bills except the mortgage and car loan have increased over the past few months and I'm seriously wondering how on earth I'll manage to do any mortgage overpayments never mind break even in my bank balance this side of Christmas. I could take the amount out my savings but as they are making some interest (not much but something) and my overdraft agreement means I pay a fraction of that equivalent there doesn't seem a need to at the moment.
However, on the up side, I have enough food in the house to not need to do a food shop for a couple of weeks, apart from bread, milk and fresh veg/ fruit. And because i forgot the pin number of the CC I use to pay my fuel that has a zero balance (one reason why the bank is in the red).
I just don't know how long I can go on playing the optimism card. I need to cut back on of frivolous spending and get a much tighter grip on the purse strings.
If anyone reads my diary any more, and not abandoned it due to nothing going on, I would be very very grateful for any inspiration and support cos I need all the help I can get. I'm not in serious debt but it could easily get that way.0
