Hi, keep a spending diary for a month - it makes a real difference when you see the numbers in black and white (or red)
Tilly x x2004 £387k 29 years - MF March 2033:eek:
2011 £309k 10 years - MF March 2021.
Achieved Goal: 28/08/15 :j0 -
Thanks Tilly. I tried a half hearted attempt at one a while back but will try again0

Ok...I spent tonight reading diaries and firing up the rusty cylinders, so....positives are:
* Today I have asked CC company to send me a new pin so will use that with a £0 start balance to buy petrol again instead of my current account, so will pay when I get my fuel expenses from work paid..a month late. (I clear the CC monthly)
* I also failed to get into my mortgage account online so have asked for a new access code to be sent. Will update siggy when I get the balance, for motivation.
* Tilly sent me a really good meal planner spreadsheet and that will help loads in my motivation and organising. Thanks again Tilly x
* Have discovered Amazon sell dried beans in bulk packs so my stews, casseroles and soups will be cheaper..all good !
It's all a positive restart.0 -

"scuttles off to check prices" :rotfl:A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Yep they do..eg cannellini beans at a fraction of the price in the shops, tinned too0

Been a busy Pix today so far... did a cupboard and freezer stock check and meal planned for next week. Thanks to Tilly dinner is looking good! I could and will really get into this habit
Going to get DS into eating beany bulked stews and casseroles more often methinx. Mr Pix already loves them so it's all good.
Had a lovely message this morning from another forumite on here with some inspiration to get me thinking. All in all, i'm feeling tons more positive about all things MSE and MFW.
When I get back into my mortgage site online I'll post an update siggy too. Will be probably next weekend but that will also help with the drive to keep up the positivity eh?
Have a lovely weekend all :wave:0 -
Evening
This weekend has not been a MFW weekend in the least, owing to being invited out to a party last night (taxi and drinks doesn't half bust the budget!) and today, slightly the worst for wear, we decided that fresh air was a good game plan, so we took ourselves to a National Trust place (we have membership) and then found ourselves making very good friends with cream scones and the best of Yorkshire's tea£9 lighter we got home and Mr Pix made a lovely roast pork dinner for us, Mr P's DS and his parental.
Sooo, meal plan starts tomorrow and, as I'm at Mr Pix's house tonight I plan to do my first official Tilly Tidy when I get back to mine after work tomorrow evening. I spotted some loose change kicking around the house the other day so that's being bagged and counted...watch this space.
Mr P always takes sandwiches to work and makes me some when I'm here so I'm hoping it will be a NSD tomorrow. Going to update my siggy in a min to include NSD's in October. Not got any to record yet though0 -
Evening
oohhh... i had my 1st October NSD today.
and my first successful meal planny thing!
but by the time I got home from work and did dinner etc I didn't do the Tilly tidy. But hey, 2 outa 3 ain't bad (sorry meatloaf, I tried to sing it and failed painfully)
And now I'm flumped doing couch spud in pj's watching catch up carp, and enjoying every min
Fingers crossed for NSD 2 tomorrow.0 -
Ooooh NSD 2/31
Well pleased0 -
2 more NSD's to update the siggy. I needed to spend yesterday as it was DD's birthday and was planning a birthday tea for her and a cake. No time to do a cake from scratch as between working all week and decorating time was tight.
I've had my mortgage online account info sent through so tomorrow i'll update my siggy with the NSD's and mortgage balance.
That's it really. Need to do that Tilly tidy too that I mentioned earlier. Aiming for tomorrow too with that. Gonna be a busy day methinx0
