Topcashback - ripped off by the AA!

I don't use TopCashBack and as such I can't understand the OP's problem. If the contract was with TCB then its clearly the fault of TCB.
I assume that the AA membership is valid and they are getting the required service from the AA, so how is the AA at fault?
The problem is, AA are getting custom by affiliating themselves with TCB. They need to pay up at some point.
By your logic, a company could promise the earth via a cashback site, get loads of business, then not pay out and tell them to take it up with the cashback website.
For now, MSE says not to rely on the cashback. But this is one of those areas where the law will be catching up very quickly with the way business is moving. One benefit of this credit crunch and ensuing increased regulation is that the law seems to be quicker in turning what is morally wrong into something that is legally wrong.0 -

I don't think Top Cash Back's position is morally wrong. They make the process very clear as well as the pitfalls. Technology gets in the way, such as tracking cookies not working. Users also get in the way by turning cookies off and expecting miracles to happen.
They are a commission driven business and I suspect the margins would be too low to pay out a claim if the principal in the transaction did not pay them. Remember, they are agent not principle and therefore have no obligation.
Legislation here is not needed and the wrong type of legislation could see good companies like TCB which benefit consumers close or offer much reduced benefits.0 -
I wasn't saying that TCB was in the wrong - quite the opposite. If there's lots of anecdotal evidence that AA are failing to pay the promised referral monies to TCB, I was saying the AA are in the wrong. I was sticking up for TCB's business model from the previous poster saying only TCB could be at fault.0

I took out AA membership with TCB about 18 months ago and had no problems getting the cash back. I think membership was around £100 and there was a £60 rebate.
Almost a year later I got the renewal notices from the AA.... quoting me in excess of £172..... needless to say I didn't bother!0 -
My home insurance cashback as just gone from confirmed £38 to £0.
Yet another company that as realised they can just not pay cashback users - and there is nothing we can do.0 -
I submitted a couple of support tickets to TBC Customer Service, they have indeed replied saying that they are waiting for the money from the AA to be able to pay cashback to their customers. However, I had a look at the AA reviews on TCB (starting with the lowest rating ones) and many, many people have the same problem... AA just doesn't pay up
( Not TCB's fault but I still feel ripped off...

I just had my claim rof £42 ejected by the AA. I too feel ripped off. TCB must take some action against the AA and either warn them or dont promote them. Shambles. Will try the RAC when time for renewel.0

I note there are several concerns here in regard to receiving cashback payments. If you would like to contact the AA to discuss specific issues we would welcome your call to our Member Relations team. They can be contacted on 0844 209 0556.“Official Company Representative
I am the official company representative of The AA. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"0 -

What would be an even better idea would be you lot actually getting your act together and doing the work of investigating why its taking so long for you to pay the cashback rather then expecting your customers to do the chasing up for you .
Thats a terrible bit of customer service and you should hang your heads in shame."If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0
