Topcashback - ripped off by the AA!

Took out both car insurance and breakdown cover last year, expecting it to be payable in January (total 76GBP of cashback). It's the end of March, still no cashback, just wanted to warn you all - think twice before taking insurance/ breakdown cover with this retailer.

I now do not regard the AA as a reputable organisation.

Why don't you open up a claim with TCB?

I'm still waiting for cashback from dorothy perkins on something I purchased in March 2011. I've now realised i'm probably never going to see it as 'payable' in my account.
  • had same problem with tcb and the aa, took ages to pay out - took about 4 months. prob was with aa not paying the affiliate network who then pay tcb. classic case of a big company (owned by centrica who own british gas) waiting until the last seconds before paying out.

I had the same problem a couple of years ago with the AA via Quidco. AA are indeed unreputable rogues!

Obviously the standard caveat applies that one should never count on receiving cash-back as it's never guaranteed; also, have you raised this with TCB? I have found their customer service to be very good.

Unfortunately it is not unusual to have to wait a long time to receive cash-back. It recently took me 11 months to get my cash-back from Kwik Fit - the policy was only 12 months long! It took ages but with TCB's help I now have the money.

How are the AA at fault if the casback sites are the ones responsible for paying up?

...because they should give Quidco the money to pass on to the customer as per their agreement with Quidco perhaps?

The deal with cashback sites is that they pay you after the retailer has paid them.
