kandfs mam - some people think that your weight loss can lag a week behind what you ate/did so to speak - just a warning that the week you've just had ;) may come back to haunt you!

Hope you have a great week!

Thanks cyclingyorkie - aye, my intention is to stick to plan 100% with limited syns and try to do some exercise as well this week to hopefully ward off any "catch up" weight! :)

Just check that there's no sugar in the flavoured water - other than that it's free to drink. Plain water also makes me sick sometimes; other times it gives me terrible heartburn so I know what you're talking about!

hoping to lose 50lb by February 2013! 2st lost so far :j
  • med mum,
its aqueo sparkling flavoured water from aldi, cheepie stuff, no sugar just sweeteners in, says 1kcal per 100ml, I was just wondering cos its sweetener is it ok or not?
I dont want to go overboard on the stuff if it may be negative.
I am getting pretty paranoid now about anything I want to eat or drink, see if there is anything hidden that I dont know about. ( as per my pineapples )

  • Just googled it and this is what I came up with:

    SUGAR SUBSTITUTES
Even fruit-flavored water with sugar substitutes, instead of sugar, might counteract your diet goals. Some artificial sweeteners contain calories, while others seem to cause weight gain, although more research is determined to figure out the reason. Your best bet is to choose drinks that only contain water or carbonated water with flavoring, or make your own sugar-free fruit-flavored water at home.

the main problem with sweeteners is that when you taste "sweet" your body releases enzymes and prepares for a load of sugar to hit your system. then when it doesn't because there was no proper sugar there in the first place, you can get cravings for sweet foods later on because your body wonders where on earth all the sugar went.

wasn't aspartame supposed to be the biggie to avoid? i remember reading somewhere that its the worst of the lot and has question marks over it but i cant remember why exactly :o
  • I dont know anything about asparatime or any other sweeteners, I am just thick :rotfl: thats why I need to know if I am doing the right thing by drinking lots of this stuff.
Maybe there are others thats more knowledgeable than me :rotfl:on this subject, ie, has anyone tried to drink lots of it, or any other sweetened drink, without any negative affects on their losses?
I know I am paranoid but really need the answers :)

Cranny slimming world is full of fabulous things to eat. I had a gorgeous syn free carbonara for dinner, check out www.slimmingeats.com for loads of great recipes, my dinner was from her site.
Thanks for that - looks a fantastic site.
Today I made the Bengali kofta curry out of the last magazine.

It was FAB!!! I would heartily recommend it!
Thanks for this - I've been wanting a good curry recepe - I try making one every so often and have no had a sucess yet (non SW) so I'll give this one a go.

3rd WI tomorrow morning. Everything crossed that the small loss on home scales translate to a small loss on the sw scales.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
