But our "teacher" now has people joining in with slogans (you know, like, "Nice to see you .... (and all join in) to see you nice" but not that obviously, SW slogans)

:rotfl:whatever will they think of next! My consultant has suddenly become efficient. We seem to have posters and stickers everywhere and not a week goes by without some email of something she's thought up. I'm not sure whether she's been got at by SW's quality control people or whether she's angling for promotion or more classes so she can give up her day job.

Was Med Mum about to move back to Britain, or come back for a holiday or something? I can't remember. I just envied the fact that she could get persimmons all year round it seemed, I love them.

No. mm's been visiting in Britain and gone back to Israel. I seem to remember she was going on holiday to celebrate her DH's big birthday. She promised to do lots of exercise.;)
  • I think my least favorite bit is the group meetings, which I really can't get into. Is the online membership worth considering? Quite honestly, I was thinking of not bothering to re-join when my 12 weeks are up, but I'm not sure whether I'll be able to stick to it, without the motivation of not showing myself up at WI each week.

Ask yourself these questions; (a)Do you find yourself saying oh im not eating that because im getting weighed in a few days. (b)Do you go off plan when you know you cant attend class the next week. (c)Whats the longest time you have succesfully dieted on your own in the past. If your answers are (a)yes (b)yes and (c)not long or never then i think you should stay to class. If none of the above apply then you may well have the motivation and all you need is the internet and forums such as this one. :)

I only ask because slimming clubs are full of people who thought they could go it alone and im one of them. I stopped going to class cos i didnt always enjoy them and it did not take me long to slip into old habits and i even had that mentality of oh i know i can do it now so its ok i can eat this and then get back on track. Well here i am 5 years later having to do it all again.
So you're Red John? I have to say I'm a little disappointed.

Wi this morning and lost .8lb so nearly the 2lb gained last week. Today and possibly tomorrow will be written off as Birthday celebrations [don't like Birthdays to be honest] more for everyone elses benefit than mine. There will be no card from my Dad and that is cutting me up :( but hey will have to get over it [its my Birthday and I'll cry if I want to :p]
Hubby & son have got me Amazon vouchers so can get some decent books for my kindle instead of all the freebies that I have been getting [and not reading :rotfl:]
Have a good day all and to coin a phrase 'keep the faith' [nabbed from MrsM's blog :D]
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T
    Keep the Faith All

    Heartbroken 12.12.13

This bl00dy wii is going to have me in the nut house - tonight it says I have LOST 4lb! The damn thing. I think I am going to ignore the body test part and just do the exercise bit instead then I will be in blissful ignorance until a Monday morning at class.

and then I'll go out on the lash with my pals and get rubbered on Gin :)

i was just about to suggest that...dont bother with the WI part of the Wii...it will put you off your rocker!!! i only weigh in at class....i dont own a set of scales....and theres no point getting weighed on a regular basis anywhere else....last time i got weighed at the hospital, i was OVER A STONE lighter there than i was at SW.

yipppppeeeee:rotfl::rotfl: glad you decided to stick with the Gin Day!!! never mind green day!!!:rotfl:
  • Thanks Repeatoffender!

I think my answers are no, no and haven't really tried much. I'm feeling fairly motivated, but I've only dieted once before, for my wedding 25 years ago. That was successful and I kept it off for a few years until I had DD, when I piled on the pounds (and stones!). However there's no 'occasion' to diet for now, which is why I'm wondering whether I can go it alone or not. Perhaps I'll do another 12 weeks then see how I feel.

BTW, can anyone recommend a sweetener I can use in cooking, that doesn't leave an aftertaste?

    Thanks!

    Thanks!

i think, IMO, its a very bad thing to diet for an "occasion"...i have done it myself, but its the wrong thing to do i think

once the occasion has passed....its like a golden ticket to put the weight back on, or even at very best, to just stop the diet,

for me...SW is for life...i am not depriving myself... i bought myself Walkers Frazzles (bacon fries) in my shopping this week, 5.5syns per bag, biscuits etc, every Sat night i get my chinese takeaway, i have a treat every night, so theres no reason how or why i cant stick to this for the rest of my life,

it will of course mean going to class for the rest of my days, but hay......i WILL get to target, and i WILL b free :j

    morning loosers! :D

I woke up early again... my fist week off is almost over and I didn't have a single lie in! That's because I'm the best girfriend in the world and wake up with bf to make him sandwiches for lunch  (bf is slim and fit and even tho I cook SW meals and we eat together I buy and add extras for him like mayo, choc bars, croissants , butter, cheese, etc. so I need twice as much willpower  :rotfl:)

Luckily I have two more weeks off to enjoy my SW experience to the full :j I think I am getting it now and to be honest I like all the food.
I have no major cravings for ready meals/take aways but I do crave chocolate :( I try to tell myself I'll have it later/tomorrow or cheat with coffee and alpen light but it's not really the same... I will stick to the plan until tomorrow tho to see if/how much I lost and I might have a flexi day tomorrow after that :o Well, the only things I'd love is some proper coffee(that's with whole milk for me) and some nice chocs to go with it plus 2-3 bottles of cider later in the evening :o All other meals would be SW and I'll see how it goes :o

    Right, today's menu:
    bowl of melon and pinapple
3 scrambled eggs, 2 slices smokes salmon, lettuce, tomato, redish, chives
lunch will be prawn and pasta stirfry
and dinner will be fish, veg and potato quiche
some fruit for snacks and maybe some Mikado sticks with coffee if I really, really want them

I'm feeling really lazy today and still in my PJs
was considering going to the gym earlier but might just do some cleaning and go for a walk instead

BTW, can anyone recommend a sweetener I can use in cooking, that doesn't leave an aftertaste?

    Thanks!

I use T own brand suracolose based one(as I'm not sure if the aspartame talk is true or not), didn't really bake with it(yet!) but I used it for smoothies before SW and they tasted nice :)

Btw. I was thinking of making some meringue nests today, is it just egg whites with sweetner and put in the oven? :o

does that mean I can do a flexi syn day every week??? :D I was told that before by someone who does SW and lost some good lbs and she said I can get away with a 'blow out' once a week after my WI
