Morning all - happy new thread!!

I've having a bit of a funny week. I've started doing a wee bit more exercise - tried the jogging on wii fit and nearly died after 5 mins! - but the damn wii fit tells me I have put on 2lb:(

    Hi,
This is whats happened to me!
After getting my 5 stone award things stopped suddenly.
So my wii exercise got out of control, bordering on the obsessive.
Wii scales said +1 or +2 then -1 or whatever, I knew I was being more than good with the food, so when it said I had put on and I knew I had not cheated I stopped eating, just having the bare minimum, I had -1.5 then 2 weeks STS then +1.5 so by then I was desperate. I was ready to throw in the towel, I was so upset, so
I took the advice from all you lovely ladies and since yesterday I have started back on the plan with the full monty, eating everything I should and hopefully come next week I will be back on track.
I will still go on the wii but not at every opportunity. The parade is good fun as you get better at it and also the hula hoop.
    Downwards may I now go.:D

  • Just got to say I made the scan bran cakes yesterday and they tasted disgusting.

Maybe I am doing something wrong. I did the banana one with 4 scan bran a weetabix sweetener 3 eggs and a bit of mixed spice. I cooked them in the oven but the middles tasted slimy although they were cooked through. never again!

. I have started the diet plan already but its green and red days and i just dont understand this extra easy that ive read about and also i like my 2 HB & HA. Anyhow hopefully i will get inspiration from this board as i always used to stay to class and got some great tips but the inane clapping drives me bonkers :D

I'm another who hates the happy clappy but I've met some lovely people at SW and the plan works for me so I just put up with it as a necessary evil! I do minimum clapping but mutter something (positive;)) instead. EE is just that when you get used to it but lots of people are more used to red and green, don't worry they still exist if that's what you prefer.

That can be a problem lamarsi, our consultant is always telling us to go for variety. I think it's two things: your body can get used to same old but also you can get bored so are more likely to give up.

:Tgettingthere, I think you're much better off sticking to the plan (along with the syns and some exercise). I know we can get desperate at times but if you can be happy plodding along on a healthy plan you can keep it up indefinitely.

Thank you BR for the lovely new thread, you are a star :A.

Mimi try rescue remedy, works wonders for nerves. Good luck with the test, son has driving lesson Friday too.

Scan Bran - yes only H&B sell them apart from group that is.

Bum, forgot who I was going to ask a question to - Your menu mentions chocolates with a ? for syns or you guesstimated 1 each, was wondering which chocs you were having. Most chocs like celebrations/roses etc are about 2.5 each and I think a square from a bar is about the same too.

My week has gone t*ts up, was sent on a school trip unexpectedly so spent the day dressed as a Victorian at a Victorian school. Had to have bread/cheese for lunch so had 3 small wm rolls with cheese/salad cream [couldn't eat them dry] so have had too many HEbs today. Its my Birthday tomorrow so there WILL be cake of some sort and probably a curry for tea so will have to knuckle down proper next week.

My thoughts on weighing with the wii - I'm not sure they are 100% accurate so would stick with sw scales.

Forgot to say a BIG well done to all you losers this week, you are :A
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

This bl00dy wii is going to have me in the nut house - tonight it says I have LOST 4lb! The damn thing. I think I am going to ignore the body test part and just do the exercise bit instead then I will be in blissful ignorance until a Monday morning at class.
I need my head read but I have allowed my DD to talk me into trying to jog a mile for Sport Relief - 5 mins on the jogging on the wii kills me so I think I may be a stretcher case on a real life actual jog. We measured out our route in the car tonight and I have to say a mile is further than I expected! We're going to do it early on saturday morning when there's no one about to witness my red blubbery sweating being ... and then I'll go out on the lash with my pals and get rubbered on Gin :)

Czerniaka, you should get given a number or something at your group so that you can get onto the SW website and you'll find syns on there. Googling sometimes works. You need to ask on Saturday.

Thanks for starting the new thread b-r. I'm not going to SW tomorrow as I'm busy but I think the fish and chip supper I had tonight (with batter:o) should have got me firmly back in target range!!

I meant to mention that to Czerniacha (right?) too; it IS a faff, the website. Because I rejoined last week I was given a fresh PIN so went to register online when I got home. I got in there but didn't bother completing their many pages of questions, they are just too slow, too dull, too inquisitive - and when I want to know something from the website it takes me 20 minutes to track it down

Seeing as it's a shiny new thread, I can't help but hop on and say hi

Hello Frogga, what a lovely post, I think it's interesting to hear of different ways of approaching SW - setting yourself a target of "seeing how much you lose by x date" is a good idea. Ewww the classes. I do plan to stay each week for a few weeks but I am cringing all the time. The clapping I can cope with because genuinely I am pleased when someone has lost even half a pound. But our "teacher" now has people joining in with slogans (you know, like, "Nice to see you .... (and all join in) to see you nice" but not that obviously, SW slogans)

I have read with interest a lot of you restrict bananas in your diet - I eat loads of bananas and pears as they are easy to take in the car with me for work and aren't a lot of faff to get into like oranges or grapefruit. Apples don't do much for me other than hurt my teeth.

Any hoo, here's to a fab journey towards a slimmer summer with my new found cyber friends. x

PS Any sign of Med Mum - not seen her for ages

Was Med Mum about to move back to Britain, or come back for a holiday or something? I can't remember. I just envied the fact that she could get persimmons all year round it seemed, I love them.
re Bananas, as long as it's not slowing down your weight loss you might as well carry on I would think. Just some people stop losing and it turns out they are going through half a dozen bananas a day (truly a lady I used to sit with at class was ONLY eating bananas all day)

well I've been good all day, had my crunchie as a treat; but as usual I've realised the HEB has been missed again. I eat loads of fruit and vegetables so I'm sure I'm getting my fibre. I suppose at a push I could wait until later and make a BLT.

Takeiteasy I agree about weighing on the wii. It can vary within minutes so isn't very reliable. Because I don't have a group nearby I do SW online and WI at the hospital using their scales but even then they can vary. Two weeks ago we had to use a different room and we had all lost 4 lbs while using the same scales. We knew it was totally wrong so didn't record our new weight much as we wan't to.
maman, I think I need more variety in my diet but my budget doesn't allow it ATM. I can't wait until I have salad greens and tomatoes growing again.

Scan bran is a "love it or hate it" thing I believe, whatever you do to disguise it. I hate it. I tried some of the cake out of politeness at class one time,, yuck. A friend brought round some SW swiss roll (I think the recipe is on the recipe thread, but it's not called swiss roll I'll have a look) and that was nice, we had it for pud after a SW-style meal.
Hi im going to join SW this week, my GP referred me after i lost almost 6 stone about 5 years ago with SW and it has crept up and up so i have put over 4 back on :(. I have started the diet plan already but its green and red days and i just dont understand this extra easy that ive read about and also i like my 2 HB & HA. Anyhow hopefully i will get inspiration from this board as i always used to stay to class and got some great tips but the inane clapping drives me bonkers :D

Hello, the same friend as mentioned above has always done red/green (mind, she doesn't take it too seriously - in three years she's lost and gained and is now exactly where she started :rotfl: she gets out more than I do though) and recently has begun to copy me with EE and did finally admit the other day that it IS easy. See I'm not keen on bread or cereals so I find it difficult to have even one HEB, so two would be wasted on me. On EE a lot of the things that are HEB on red and green are free anyway. It's mostly the bread and cereals that aren't.
