Evil - that should help hopefully. Sounds like a good plan :)

Beanie - i'm really sorry to hear that. You have two choices .

You can try and get it in control again , or you can give yourself a break if other things are taking over in life. Life just does get in the way sometimes. You could decide to be back on plan by X date and build up to it but don't put yourself under unecessary stress and try your best not to feel guilty for it. It will eat you up.

Emotional/stress eating is a very hard cycle to break. It's something i often wish they covered in class but never have. As children, when we fall and hurt ourselves, we are "rewarded" with food to comfort us. I think it starts there and continues on through life. At one point, I would have eaten my way through every emotion I can think of. I don't know how i've stopped it really - i just stop myself and try to reason and think - ok , is it really going to help me feel any better? Just because i Haven't done it in a year, i don't believe i'm necessary "cured"

The truth is comfort/stress eating usually makes us feel worse as there is then guilt associated with the bad choices.

Sorry, i don't know if im helping. I'm just thinking out loud. My best friend is very much a comfort eater and hasn't been able to break the cycle. She isn't able to reason with herself, and half the time she "shovels" the food, so she doesn't even really taste it.

I wish i had a solution for you - but just don't be so hard on yourself chum. xxx:grouphug: Maybe this dodgy hug will cheer you up :p

  • Welcome Gilly - menus look good to me.

Beanie - I know exactly where you're coming from girl - just keep coming on here everyday and eventually you'll get yourself back in the right frame of mind. As you know I've been hovering for months and I'm glad I did because it could have been so much worse if I didn't.

Maman - sweet potatoes are great baked or roasted - to roast them I cut them up and mix with freshly ground sea salt, freshly ground black pepper, a drizzle of honey and spray some oil - then mix them all together in a bowl before spreading them out on the baking sheet. Sometimes cut up an onion into quarters and throw that in with them too.

I've had a good weekend and seem to be back on track finally. Been on the dreadmill two days running - planned 15 mins each time but actually did 20 mins - not much but I need to build it up again.

I'm still waiting to hear when the personal trainer is going to start the bootcamp but I've registered so watch this space!

  • Quick question if anyone is online at the moment. I'm meeting a friend for lunch at IKEA (cheap and cheerful). Do I have the salmon, green beans and potatoes or the sushi?

  • Personally not a fish lover... so "None" would be my advice :D Meatballs! Tough I know the Salmon is likely to be more SW friendly - some use OIL to get the sushi to stick to shape.

Hope everyone is having a fab weekend.

Probably too late now but I'd have gone for the salmon. I always think sushi's more of a snack than a meal.

I'm no expert on red and green but I thought balsamic was free or is it a dressing rather than the basic vinegar?
