  • Welcome aboard Joyfuljoy. I'm thinking of ditching the group myself. Mostly because the consultant that was running it has now left... and there is as much support if not more here - for alot less!

My mood can be summed up neatly with

    meh

Fighting with my 17 month old to get her to eat something...Isn't it weird, we are brought up to eat everything put in front of us. The minute we become logically rational thinking things we are told not to.

Done some thinking as to what would cause such a difference in weight loss (being a logical, science based gal:D ) only 6 weeks in, I knew I'd flatten out at some point - but expected it to be gradual.

good luck tonight Lalamb - I know people that have lost over 7lb in their first week, and gained over 5lb... so don't worry either way.
Czerniacha, kandfs mam, Fluff1987 - your group sounds very much like mine. SoW is a basket of 'seen better days' fruit. I think it is because there isn't an assigned consultant to the group as such.

Currently having to cook two lots of meals - sometimes three, thats really not working for me - I need the whole family to eat what I am or batch what I have and then cook for them seperately -not really what I want. *sigh* getting all forms of stressed out cause I spend all day cooking.
So for the past week I haven't been eating proper, and I think the body has gone into store it mode. Back to basics, I have the whole weekend to haul this reluctant household into order. Plan for the week not this itty bitty don't know where I am rubbish.

    Thanks for the encouragement! :)

I've found since doing this SW my family are more or less eating the same, barring one fussy little boy!!! But I am literally cooking from morning till night, I think I'm going to try and batch cook 1 or 2 days a week, a day when I'm really in the mood for it. If I'm not cooking I'm washing dishes.....seriously considering getting a dishwasher again but didn't have much luck with the last one and I actually prefer washing by hand most of the time but not at the minute because it's a never ending cycle! I must say though I'm feeling more organised at home since starting this...it's quite strange lol
  • PIGLET,
just had an idea ..... hear me out :rotfl:
How bout we both eat the same things this week and see what we can lose?
If your interested, then write me a list of what you will be having, what portion size etc and I will stick to it.
Then the day after I can suggest a menu , what do you think?
We both love spuds :rotfl: so thats high on the list,

Good luck for tonight, fingers crossed for you ;)

Total loss = 5 stone 12.5 lbs. / But now GAINED 1 STONE 1.5 LBS!!

    46 weeks!
  • After losing 4 lbs on my first WI last week it was WI number 2 this morning and I stayed the same! I was so disappointed...

I have been so good - no cheats at all and sticking to a maximum of about 8 syns a day.

I'm not going to let it de-rail me though. I know that sometimes people have a disappointing week but then have a very good week the week after so I'm hoping the weight loss I felt I deserved this week will catch up and show on the scales next week. :)

I'm determined not to get obsessed by numbers but it is hard not to be disappointed - I shall shake it off now though before I let it tempt me into a 'why bother... may as well steal one of my daughter's Easter Eggs!'

Fortunately I'm going to Zumba this evening so won't feel like stuffing myself after that.
If you're not scared, you're not paying attention
  • Now Minnie just keep on in there. I know exactly how you feel, just plod on regardless and by next thursday you will be laughing :rotfl:
Eat all 15 syns not just 8, drink more water, eat more melon and strawberries and you will feel the benefit. :)

Are you due on your period perhaps? I know I gain a couple of lbs right before. I'm due next week, with that and easter I'm dreading next weeks WI got plans for the weekend and it involves going out for a chinese meal on Monday :( Good for you for not letting it derail you though!

Do you think I should make a point of eating my syn allowance even if I don't particularly want it? I think I worry about using them during the day in case I need/want them later but often in the evening I'm not really bothered.

Actually I don't know. I had a Mirena coil fitted a couple of years ago so don't have 'visible' periods now. I'm not sure though if perhaps internally I still have the hormonal goings-on of a monthly cycle or not.

yes go for it, eat your maximum syns, they are there for a reason, to be enjoyed, I'm pretty sure u can squash a curly wurly in in the evenings :rotfl: or a pkt of crisps maybe ;)
It's better to get into the habit of using them all or at least 10 as when you get nearer to target and you slow down then is the time to drop the syn allowance, that's what my consultant says anyway. :)

Back from first WI and lost 2lbs, I wasn't too impressed at first because whenever I've done WW or done a diet myself at home I tend to lose 6 - 7lbs in the first week but then I remembered the food I've been eating this week, not starving myself, not counting calories and not burning a sweat either. So yes I am happy, very happy in fact. My daughter lost 2.5lbs and she is also over the moon.

You guys have definitely helped me this week. We didn't stay for our WI because our consultant is a bit........erm.....disorganised :o and we would still be sat there at half past nine tonight, so gave it a miss this week, and I am so hungry and could eat a horse. Going to be a teeeny bit naughty tonight but will do a couple of express days to make up for it.

Well done lalamb.... remember that 2lb is 4 blocks of butter!

My food diary for the day:
    B - mullerlight, pear
L - homemade tattie & leek soup; tangerine, pear; alpen light bar (1/2 HEB)
S - 1/2 pkt pom bears (3syns); bacon medaliions (no fat)
d - SW bacon & mushroom quiche, rice salad (boiled rice, spring onions, peas, peppers); pear, pomegranate

Might have a couple of ryvita (1/2 HEB) with light laughing cow (HEA) later if I'm hungry.

Drinks have been black coffee, flavoured sparkling water & NAS squash

    Will probably have
    Mortgage Aug 22 £280,000
    Current mortgage  £28,000
