Back from first WI and lost 2lbs, I wasn't too impressed at first because whenever I've done WW or done a diet myself at home I tend to lose 6 - 7lbs in the first week but then I remembered the food I've been eating this week, not starving myself, not counting calories and not burning a sweat either. So yes I am happy, very happy in fact. My daughter lost 2.5lbs and she is also over the moon.

You guys have definitely helped me this week. We didn't stay for our WI because our consultant is a bit........erm.....disorganised :o and we would still be sat there at half past nine tonight, so gave it a miss this week, and I am so hungry and could eat a horse. Going to be a teeeny bit naughty tonight but will do a couple of express days to make up for it.

Very well done on your first loss, give yourself a pat on the back. :A
It's certainly not easy but you will soon get into the swing of things. Next week may be better, having said that 2lb is a good loss.
And if you are going to eat a horse, make it a scabby one! ha ha :)

Total loss = 5 stone 12.5 lbs. / But now GAINED 1 STONE 1.5 LBS!!

    46 weeks!

KFC chicken in the oven(used skinless chicken drums, spices, eggs and wheetabix) and as I felt 'on the go' I thought I will experiment with some SW ice cream :D it's in the freezer now and I hope it will be lovely tomorrow... planning to make some SW meringue nests to go with it(plus some berries) for a lovely and almost syn free dessert :D

Blackberry-rum.. I don’t really make two different pies. I make the base –eg mince onions peppers peas altogether but I put them into two individual dishes (like pub ones) and add celery tomato green beans to mine. At beginning of the week I cook a load of different veg and pop them into or on everything. I have some potatoes too but try not to have too many. Def an Irish thing – potatoes, scone bread, sodas etc. – my downfall!! (oh wine and gin too:o)
As well OH does not like carrots, green beans, mushy peas, tomatoes, celery etc etc. I love them so all my life I have cooked extra veg for myself and children. (the children are now 30+)
    .
ooh this is how I sneak hated carrots into my own food - zap 'em in the blender then I can tell myself they aren't there. It might work for your OH if you fancy making him healthier ;););)

anyone has any nice Easter dishes ideas?

I tried to think of something SW and so far I have:

-eggs stuffed with smoked salmon, quark&chives
-roast duck breast(no skin) with chips/wedges and veg
-salmon fillet with creamy spinach&mushrooms(using some fromage frais?)

and now I'm stuck... was thinking I'd like a nice soup and maybe a salad but can't find any nice recipes :/
I've just had a lovely supper, all in one dish in microwave:

handful of asparagus stalks, sprinkled with butterbuds
large field mushroom sliced on top of them
large piece of smoked haddock on top of the lot, spray of olive oil, sprinkle of pepper, cover, cook on high until you can smell it done (took 4 mins in mine) - fit for a king, and you could add potatoes or rice or something to it.

How about a lovely fresh springlike watercress soup? Any soup is basically "fry" up some onion and garlic, add the vegetables and a little liquid and steam them, add stock cube if necessary, then liquidise. On watercress soup a dollop of fat free plain yog stirred into a whirly shape would look very nice.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

Our group is the same as yours Fluff - we get a bag of fruit if people remember to bring stuff, one lady has hens so she always puts half a dozen eggs in the bag which is lovely but usually you can tell which fruit has been on special offer in Tesco - this week there were about 10 kiwi fruits in the bag along with a couple of apples and an orange.
Once when I won (years ago!) it was mostly very battered packs of Ainsley's couscous - I brought them all back the next week and when we checked the labels they were nearly all out of date anyway! This week I myself bought a load of kiwis as they on special offer in sainsburys and I have peeled and chopped and frozen them. I can either shove a few lumps into a yoghurt to make "ice cream" or add to other frozen fruit for extra fibre. PS we have quite good SOTW baskets these days, I think the people who brought their old bashed up ready made cous cous have moved on :rotfl:
After losing 4 lbs on my first WI last week it was WI number 2 this morning and I stayed the same! I was so disappointed...

I have been so good - no cheats at all and sticking to a maximum of about 8 syns a day.

I'm not going to let it de-rail me though. I know that sometimes people have a disappointing week but then have a very good week the week after so I'm hoping the weight loss I felt I deserved this week will catch up and show on the scales next week. :)

I'm determined not to get obsessed by numbers but it is hard not to be disappointed - I shall shake it off now though before I let it tempt me into a 'why bother... may as well steal one of my daughter's Easter Eggs!'

Fortunately I'm going to Zumba this evening so won't feel like stuffing myself after that.
I feel for you, we all have weeks like that and it's almost better to get it out of the way early on. I remember a member of our group who was ...well... pretty overweight, and she ALWAYS lost week after week and tended to be quite patronising to those of us who gained a little or lost very little ... then one week she had a gain, WELL! She was devastated. It really brought her down to earth and the patronising manner certainly changed!:rotfl:

I made this moussaka tonight. It was LUSH. I encourage you all to try it. Made the topping with less stuff as I only had a few bits and pieces but it was amazing. A really different meal from our usual SW stuff and it's gone straight on our favourites list.

Obviously, people bringing stuff for the SoW basket is an instruction from SW. At my group it's always a bit thin on the ground. I think the way the economy's going people feel they're spending enough and there's the raffle as well.

I generally put a can of diet lemonade/coke in the basket (or recycle a pack of Pasta'n'Sauce or something else I don't like:o).

Have a good Easter everyone. Avoid the chocolate eggs!!!

well im happy :) i lost 1.5lb, but having said that ive probably put it back on as mum surprised me with an impromptu meal out with friends that we havent seen in about 2 years? they were only over for yesterday and today and are flying back at 5am in the morning, so today was the only day to see them.

i have to say though (so far) i havent regretted what i had, though no doubt it was high in syns - probably over, but i dont care lol i enjoyed every bite. and im gonna try the fish thing tomorrow or else the express way, but i just gotta go shopping first lol. need soup veg and brocolli :)
I'd rather try and fail, than not try and never know

On the wagon again I go.... royally fell off.... 4.5st (63lb) by June 2016.... LET'S DO THIS!!!!!!!:grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin:

    Good Morning People,

It's a beautiful morning here on the pond

I was feeling "wobbly" yesterday whilst watching the Tadpoles and Mr Frog break into some Easter Eggs, and I nearly gave up. So I thought it might be a good idea to hop on the scales this morning to see if I'd lost anymore....

    and I've gone from 20st 1lb on May 5th 2011 to...
    13 st exactly :D

    Which means I've lost 7st 1lb :D

and am quite pleased with that ;) and my BMI has gone from 46.8 down to 29.4. Yipee

Can't wait to be 12st something! It's given me the encouragement I need not to be a greedy fat frog this weekend and stay with the plan.

"The book" says I should be 9st ideally as I'm 5ft 5" (it says anywhere between 8st and 10st) but in reality that's another 4 stone and I think I'd be way too skinny. I'm a size 12 jeans now and some of my tops are a 10 (well, alright, one of them, but one of them is a 10!!).

Anyway hope everyone has a good Easter, I'm really enjoying reading all the posts on here as they keep me going even if I don't post back every week.

    xxx

    WOW:T:T:eek: Frogga! :eek::T:TGO YOU!

With all these inspiring people on this thread how can any of us not loose focus of our end target!

With an attempt to have something other than milk and cereal for my health extra, I'm having vanilla mullerlight and fruit for breakfast. I keep telling myself it will be worth it to go without my milky tea for the day, in favour of the grilled cheese sarnie tonight...
But I'd love a slice of toast right now! I suppose i could burn 5 syns on one....:D But then I had bread last week... and it showed on my loss.
    mmm..big loss vs yummy toast...:rotfl:
    Have a lovely Easter

    Good morning.

Well done frogga, wow....what an amazing weight loss in less than a year! :T:T:T

    And well done fluff :T:T:T

Well, I was a naughty girl last night, I will not bore you with the details but lets just say I felt like a big fat greedy piggy afterwards! :o

    But back on it today....

Planning on making a Simnel cake this morning, but none for me, more for the family over Easter and I'm going to make a roast lamb dinner, I know tradition is fish on Good Friday but were not fish lovers :o I usually stick my leg of lamb in a large pot, with red wine and herbs and let it cook slowly all day but not sure if this is such a good idea what with all the fat on it because I make the gravy from the stock in the pot? Should I remove the fat first?

I also want to try and follow an express day today........so for my lamb I will cut back on meat and go heavy on the veg. Does that sound ok?

When we have a roast day that's my only meal of the day but going to force myself to have a yoghurt and some fruit for breakfast...
