Thanks Stef, I do drink a huge amount of tea but i bought some peppermint bags and camomile bags today so i intend to have every other cup as caffeine free to see if that helps. My mum drinks the caffeine free PG tips but i don;t the after taste and would rather not have it.

I've drunk lots of water as well today and am going to keep a bottle on my desk at work and try and drink it ad fill it up and drink it again - not sure how i will fit toilet breaks into my day with all this fluid!

I've really enjoyed this week and have realised that i need to plan and i secretly enjoy the planning side of it.

If you take a look on the Joe's sausages website it also mentions the removal of the accreditation on there.

Morning ladies! Weigh in for me this morning and I am hoping for a loss this week after last weeks staying the same. I have been on plan 100%, really upped my super frees and i've been walking lots so I really want to see the scales go in the right direction.
Then i'm off school shoe shopping for 4 kids, don't know what's worse :rotfl:.

    Well a good start to the day here - I've been for a 4 mile stomp and did it in 59 mins, I even managed 12 x 1min jogging intervals in that. 732 calories burnt :j;
That means I've walked over 12 miles this week as an extra over and above normal activity - I will be gutted if I dont lose on the scales tomorrow.

That's great, and well done on your loss! Must say you're making me feel guilty for my laziness recently! :o I'm off work tomorrow so if the people I'm waiting in for come at a reasonable hour I pledge to walk for at least an hour!

There seems to have been a lot of publicity recently about diet coke encouraging a craving for sweet stuff. I dont suppose an occasional drink on special occasions would matter but it's something to be aware of. Yet another test of will power!!

I've heard that, that the sweeteners make your body expect sugar so when it doesn't get it it makes you hungry for some of the real stuff. Not really a fan of diet coke (unlike OH, who even has it with breakfast if he is having a bacon sandwich, ugh!) but as I always seem to be designated driver I tend to drink pints of it in the pub. Mind you, saying that there are sweeteners in pretty much everything - think mullerlights and the light cereal bars are pretty bad :(

I had the area manager in group last thursday and we were all told NO butcher has the right to advertise their goods as SW friendly as all endorsements were taken away after too many disputes when recipes changed and SW werent contacted to have the items approved. This was explained to us in depth that originally any butchers/bakers etc originally paid a fee to SW, who in turn sent of items from the ranges for testing to show they were within the ranges accepted. Then improvements were made to products and SW werent informed so it changed the make up of the items leaving very few within the acceptable ranges so SW took away all accreditations from all sources. Went onto say that even the items given in the handbooks should always be monitored for new improved ranges as they may no longer have the same syn values.
For a butcher to claim their products are EL they have to show proof that theres less than 5% fat otherwise you take your chances. From what we were told one woman tried to sue SW after gaining weight following the plan and using an approved supplier who had not informed SW of changes in produce this is what sparked off the removal of approval.

There was a similar item on FB lately where a lady set up a page as Slimming world cake lady. She altered recipes to be SW friendly, broke down ingredients to work out syn values etc and posted an online recipe ebook that several subscribers paid for. Within a couple of days SW intervened and forced her to close down threatening court action for using the SW trademark and trying to associate herself with them.

I think SW are taking it a bit far in some cases. Fair enough, they don't want to get sued but I think in the case of the cake lady, as you say, it was SW not wanting someone else to make money out of their name rather than concern for their members. Of course, they are a business not a charity but to me it is a little Big Brotherish... :(

I still use Joe's products - they give the NVs and invite you to use the SW syn calculator to work out that they are free, and they say their recipes haven't changed since they got accreditation so that's good enough for me. It is a bit of a minefield though- I suppose we are just taking people's word for it with claims for any product. We only have Joe's about once a fornight anyway though so even if they were a bit out it shouldn't make too much difference.

Lost 1.5 at WI last night :) Was pleased as struggled a little and felt hungrier than usual, but got through it. Need to make more effort this week as going out for a meal and (lots of) drinks on Friday for a friend's leaving do, so going to stick to 5 or fewer syns a day for the rest of the week. Also need to up the exercise as I said above - feel a bit lethargic but i know not doing any will make me feel worse, so need to get out of this vicious circle!

Had the breakfast rice pudding yesterday and today - very nice. Didn't have any yogurt so had an Options indulgence winter spice sachet in it. Will be good for EE days so I don't use all HEs at breakfast. BTW does anyone know where you can get cheap mullerlight style yogs? Seem to remember a conversation on here about aldi or lidl but they had changed and were now syns?? Went to get some in asda but unless I wanted 8 they were 59p each!

Anyway, enough yabbering - green today:
B: Choc rice pudding (1.5), banana, milk (A)
    L: Chicken mugshot, nectarine
T: Dunno but quite fancy soya mince chilli & rice, pitta bread (B)
    S: Shape yogurt, 2 x alpen light (B), choc mousse (3.5)

Have a good day all :)

  • Well survived two weddings last night. Didn't get there in time for the reception so didn't have that temptation in the way and ate first course of salmon and salad. Did eat a bit too much bread (always my downfall) but then didn't eat main course as I was full! Drank a lot of diet coke which didn't make me hungrier but actually made me thirstier!

Lots of body magic on the dance floor and we left before dessert was served.

It was then an hour's drive to the next one (closer to home) and we got there after main course had been served so no food there. Got straight on to the dance floor for an hour's boogy, ignored the dessert buffet and drank some orange squash (probably sugar laden but all that was available).

Could have been so much worse and I came home desperate for some ice cold water.

hoping to lose 50lb by February 2013! 2st lost so far :j

Thank you for all the yogurt tips, my bf loves the shape crumble yogurts. He puts them in the freezer after putting a lolly stick in and eats them like an ice cream. I am definately going to be meal planning next week. I mean, I always meal plan but lately I have noticed more and more packet sauces creeping in like the blue dragon shots which have syns. They are just so easy but there is something really satisfying in eating a meal you have cooked from scratch and knowing you can eat as much of it as you like.
I also really like the skinny cow ice creams. They are 4.5 syns each and I think they are worth it. They do a chocolate one, mint choc chip (yum) and a honeycomb.
I had a bad day Sunday, we did a car boot and I got sun stroke. They were selling hot donuts there (I had 2) and then I went home and slept feeling really rough and when I woke up we had chip shop chips, chocolate (first chocolate in 10 weeks) fig rolls and a twister. I felt dreadful but I am trying to convince myself that it is not too bad. I havent had a takeaway for 3 months or so so one cone of chips is fine. I do wish I hadn't had them though. I felt ill from the oil. Its amazing how you get used to not having something. There was a time I would of eating a whole portion to myself.
