    Hi

After being on SW a few times last year ( losing weight every time but just giving up!), I am now back on, with my daughter this time - we have lost 7lb & 6.5lb respectively in 2 weeks.

What I would like to ask anyone from Northern Ireland on here - can anyone find Asda Chickpea Dahl ( syn free) or the new Tesco Chickpea Dahl (1.5 syn) anywhere in Northern Ireland?? I have been to a few large stores & no luck.....

Why does N.I. always seem to be behind everywhere else......:(

Hi kaja - I am from Northern Ireland - Co Tyrone - I have bought their Chick Pea Dahl in my local store - I am in there later on today - I will tell you what ailse it was on - It took me a while to locate it - I was looking at the tinned bean, normal chickpea tin etc section!
  • Thank you Starfish1975

I'm from Belfast - is that the Asda one? Ive looked beside all the tinned curry etc, in fact - I have checked everywhere.....if I knew they had it somewhere, I might drive & stock up! lol

I dont think this is an issue just with NI but there seems to be a shortage of it over here too. One thing mentioned in our group Asda doesnt seem consistent as to where you can find this product. When i have purchased it i have found it in the aisle with products like meatballs, tinned currys, hotpots etc Other people reported finding it in the aisle with the tins of toms, chickpeas and other tinned veg. So it may be worth while looking in a different area. Saying that though one lady in my group has said as soon as she sees it on the shelf buys it likes it going out of fashion as she never knows how long it will be before she spots it again.

hey kaja, im more castlereagh direction. ive seen it once or twice in the knockbreda store, but having said that, i *THINK* ive seen it in the ards branch too. its available on their website at the minute apparently. (if i get something delivered from mr T, for some reason it comes from the lisburn branch)... does your store let you click and collect?

plan for yesterday went off my initial weekly plan, but i dont think it was TOO bad :S

    B: 1/4 watermelon
L: piece of smoked fish, green beans, 3 b.boiled potatoes and salad (2 syns for butter)
D: spaghetti bolognese (pasatta, tomatoes, mushrooms, onion, EL mince, HEA cheese for sprinkling), Garlic Bread slice ( W/M HEB - 2 syns - homemade)
    Snacks: grapes, melon, 3xnectarines
    total syns: 4?

today so far the weather is horrendous so feeling the need for soup/something hot and wholesome...had a handful of grapes so far (running out of fruit v.quickly... might have the other piece of fish with a few baby pots and green beans or maybe a baked potato with l/o chicken pizza sauce and salad? what you think?
I'd rather try and fail, than not try and never know

On the wagon again I go.... royally fell off.... 4.5st (63lb) by June 2016.... LET'S DO THIS!!!!!!!:grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin:

Does anyone on here follow a gluten free and diary free diet and do SW?

I have done SW in the past and done well but am now following the above for health reasons, am on Meds which make me want to eat all the time plus depressed too so all I want to do is eat! Have mobility problems so find it hard to exercise but know I must not put any, more weight on, or my health will get worse.

I am wheat free, not dairy free at the moment but one and off, take meds which make me want to eat and eat, mobility and pain problems. BUT I am losing weight after going back onto SW last Tuesday. I have little exercise but count walking around the house in my steps.

I do more green days that EE as it is easier to follow. As I can get wholemeal GF bread I find that helpful for lunches and buy GF pasta too. I have to admit I eat a lot of rice as my main carb.
business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

  • Also going to try to make ice cream - hear if you mix muller light with fromage frais (1 muller to half a large tub of ff) and sweetener that works well. Will let you know!

    :-)

Sorry it's taken a while to report back but here I am - ice cream was gorgeous and definitely worth doing. I made it with the strawberry muller. You just have to keep stirring as it freezes. One thing I would say is get it out about half an hour before you want to eat it as it went as solid as a brick! Lovely though!

Lost half a pound the week before last, sts last week.
Been good too - but stopped myself from going mad with disappointment - hope it pays off!

    Good luck all! :)
  • i went COMPLETELY off the rails at the weekend - had a stressful time with my relationship and also my ex hubby p*issed me off - so everything just rollercoastered!!

But.. putting it behind me - forgetting about my 48 hour binge!! and starting a fresh today - treating this week as my first week and planning 100%.

I have texted my SW leader and taking this week as a holiday - due to weigh in tomorrow - so hoping that by next week I will have undid the damage and get back on the road of getting to my target!!!

My salary has stopped now too and am just getting SMP - so think that is stressing me out too... need to get organised and plan a week's menu of good value products!! Off to look up online supermarkets for the best SW friendly bargains!!

Good luck to everyone for this week xx

You are in a very stressful time - baby & lack of sleep and hormones and now a money drop too. I remember this time all to well. Always yelling and stressing and worrying. My youngest was 16 months when I joined slimming world and it was the best thing for me, the food optimising led to food shopping optimising. I started to cook/make everything myself. Tonight it's chicken nuggets! (SYN FREE :D)
However I know that had I started SW when you have - I wouldn't have lasted 3 weeks! Well done for sticking at it!

Got a chicken from the Co-op yesterday for £2 reduced. So nuggets and wedges for tea tonight and Chicken pie & two potato mash for tomorrow nom nom. Probably soupystew with anythin thats left for lunch on wednesday.:T talk about stretching it out!

Fluff, i didn't realise you were so close to me:D:eek:

Well done to the losers :) Hugs to those having a hard time.

This is my first week at maintaining and im dreading weigh in tomo. I have kept plan exactly the same, only increased my syns. Ive had 90 compared to my normal 66 and it all feels a bit wrong. Sure, ill see what the scales say tomorrow. Drank two nights in a row for the first time in an age, so that used u p more syns than i normally would  PLus i was out for the first time in months so drank much more than usual. My body won't be used to a large alcohol intake.

Kandfs - well done on your 3.5, that's awesome :D

I'll be very interested to hear how you get on at WI zippy. I got to target using the vast majority of 105 syns a week so technically you could have lost more!!

Yes well done KandFsmum. Its a great feeling isn't it.

With regard to "staying at target" we're told not to increase syns but increase the healthy extras. I personally have a hunch that replacing the superfrees with just free things will help too. If you think about how SW advise that more SF increases the loss... but thats only my thoughts on that matter.
