Sorry another question (never made it to the butchers today either!) am going out for dinner tonight at Strada... any ideas as to what would be 'best'? I'm guessing a pasta dish of some sort. I could just say s0d it and eat whatever but as it's only my first week I want to do good!Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16

Hi psychopathbabble, sorry I didn't see your post earlier - you are probably awat by now. Hope you have a nice night.
We went to Brewers Fayre in the end so the kids could run off some energy in the soft play. The menu was lovely but horrendous on syns! i had a quick look online before we went - can you believe that a BBQ chicken baguette (comes with chips & coleslaw) is 65 syns!!!
In the end I went for lemon & thyme basted 1/2 chicken with new potates & salad. I asked for no dressing on the salad or butter on tatties and I cut all of the skin off the chicken. It was v nice and I think I chose as wisely as I could... AND I drove so I had a pint of soda water & 3 mugs of black coffee so I am now polishing my haloMortgage Aug 22 £280,000

Your dinner sounds lovely and SW friendly
I had cuttlefish black ink pasta with veg which seemed one of the least worst.... but unfortunately I consumed half a bottle of rose (with lemonade to water it down) and 3 other drinks. I did avoid dessert though which is a big plus point for me and starters when everyone else had one! Tomorrow is a new dayBecame Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

Hi everyone - back from my two days away. Started on Friday morning with breakfast in my DH's favourite cafe. I had an omelette and lots of Israeli salad with a little techina dressing. Also had a small bread roll. All of that was followed by a very long walk and up some really steep hills in 36 degree heat. We got to our hotel early afternoon and then went out to stroll through a heaving market and then had a long walk back to the hotel. Then swam a few lengths before chilling by the pool.
Dinner on Friday night was some kind of lentil and vegetable soup, chicken, rice and salad. Desserts looked very unappealing so had some watermelon.
Saturday morning breakfast was lots of salad, some mushroom quiche (no idea how many syns) and some melon.
Lunch was rice and a meat and vegetable stew (quite heavy in oil though) and some salad.
Ate far too many nuts over the weekend though but didn't have anything other than water to drink so guess overall it wasn't too bad
Back late last night and had a fried (Frylight) egg on toast as I hadn't eaten anything since lunch time.
So new week here and hoping to be back on track -
B - melon slices, cheese & onion omelette (A)
L - pasta with veg ragu sauce
D - vegetable soup, salad, homemade croutons (B)Mediterranean Mum
hoping to lose 50lb by February 2013! 2st lost so far :j0 -

I think the important thing is to enjoy yourself when outandabouting for what ever reason. Sounds like you did just that.
Today I am attempting a low syn coconut cream pie I shall let you know how I get on. Also using up the excess bananas making either sugarless banana muffins or/and banana bread. Mostly for the kids to eat. Slow weekend for me.0 -

Glad you enjoyed your little break mm, good that someone was waiting on you after all the hostessing you've done lately. Hotel menu doesn't look toooo bad although I thought stew for lunch was a bit odd in those temperatures! Good to see you're straight back on the wagon.
I ate very well on plan yesterday although had (planned) wine syns. Today I'm doing a Jamie Oliver pork recipe. It's yummy but I only do it when I'm at the bottom of target range as I haven't the willpower to resisit the crackling.:o We had a woman at my group who used to put chicken skin straight into her dog's bowl when she was carving to stop her eating it. She insisted it couldnt be a clean bowl or she'd not have trusted herself to take it back out!
My EE plan for today:
B: HEB Puffed Wheat with HEA milk and strawberries
L: not sure but maybe ham and melonPork roasted on celery, carrots and onions with SW parsnips & potatoes and cabbage.
Syns: gravy made with meat juices:drool: and usual weekend wine syns.0 -
Just been reading about the chocs etc. I never ate much but now I eat none at all. Went back to SW mid-May and nothing sweet has passed my lips since then - except on a Sunday when I have my Sunday dessert, which is a very small portion of something - today it is chocolate cheesecake. Another time it might be mousse or fresh fruit and meringue.
I also stopped having bread and am now totally used to never eating it and feel a lot better for it. I have lost 7" off my waist and my trousers are hanging off me. I just tell myself I'd rather feel like this than start eating sweet things and bread.
I know we're all different, but it works for me.:)0 -

The joys of air conditioning!
So far so good today and realised that it's actually a green day (I think) so can add extra A and B -
B - melon, cheese & onion omelette (A)
L - WM pasta with SW ragu, 45g mozzarella (A), salad
D - carrot, courgette & onion soup, WM croutons (B), salad
will probably use the other B for something on my saladMediterranean Mum
