    well done Karen & Stef

Been out for another stomp - same route as last night but tried a wee bit extra jogging tonight and knocked 3 mins off my time! 498 cals burnt tonight apparently :D Hoping for a good WI on Monday at this rate.

  • another 1.5lb off for me today and 1lb for my Becki....Im well pleased with that as we do have wine every night and a voddi or 2 that dont get synned :o  after all 1.5 lb a week is around 6st a year:T
I might be crazy but I'm not stupid....
  • Thanks for all your replies re the mince. Didn't expect it to be so varied! Trouble is, the nature of my job means I need things that are easily reheatable (think ready meals in foil trays type) and mince is the easiest and most versatile thing for me to use for dinners at work. I'll ask my consultant next week I suppose. I do already drain the mince, and grate lots of carrots and courgettes into it. Weirdly enough, I did notice recently that a huge packet of normal mince is the same price as a tiny portion of extra lean mince, I'd never noticed before!

Just back from WI armed with a new magazine fresh in this afternoon and another optimising book for 100 EE days and also 1lb lighter. My son who had a bad week and binged a couple of times i were out had gained 1.5lb and understands why so has offered his services to the consultant to help her deliver leaflets this week and he gets some extra body magic too.

Trying to think of ways to lose a little more next week as i seem to just be trugging along at 1- 1.5lb loses a week, i appreciate slow and steady could mean it stays off better but surely by now i could be further on :undecided
Stef.. 1.5 is a lot for some people. And know its frustrating when others are dropping 3 and 4 - but they might be gaining more weeks than losing.

Good Luck for weigh in. I went with the "I enjoyed it, and I will deal with it" attitude. Apparently the going back is the biggy... most don't. I was in a different State and a less "commericalised " one I think, and I think that had a lot to do with it. Do miss Dairy Queen though

zippychick Thank you for the links. I already dib in to the slowcooker one yes :D Turns out it's a grounding fault on the electricity ring - turns half the house off. Leccie man is here tomorrow.

Slightly off topic I am up at 2am. Money worries I think. (that and a wakingful toddler) Coming back to the UK I am so much more aware of how expensive everything has become. Despite having a budget for the holiday and staying within it the debt pile is now hugely daunting for me. Though not a massive amount to many, considering our income I just can't see clear of it. :o Especially as there is another income drop coming soon.
Can't decide whether to tax the car (declared sorn while we were away) or leave it off the road and save the 200 tax, plus 200 petrol and insurance till we clear it off. Sky is already on the got to go list.
The shopping bill was already shaved to 80 a week. Very glad that I am putting my £2.00 coins in a jar :D
I'm off to look for money threads on other threads now :A wish me luck!

Hubby has the same "reheat" issue. So we removed that from the equation, I bought 2 small thermos slightly larger than a grand coffee mug- there's a spoon in the lid. & lifetime guarunteed. He takes a pot of what ever for lunch ( pastas, rices, fried rice, stews and soups) and a different pot of other stuffs for snacks.
His lunch bill has dropped :)

well I lost 2 pounds so I've lost all my holiday weight. I'm one pound away from club 10 now so getting that is my aim for next week!

Shellie- I think I'd have been ok in an apartment and one of the less touristy areas. I could have at least controlled breakfast and more snacks everyday. as it was, all we had were what the local delis offered at inflated prices cz it was times sq!

:T:beer: excellent! F&C for you for next week! I was staying with family, so I got control of one meal a day, but we ate out so much, and all of it swimming in fat. The sugar levels of everything was frightening:eek:

Well done to all the new loses.

As i mentioned last night i have invested in another food optimising book for inspiration. A quick flick through answers one of the questions about soups and the blitz or not to blitz debate. All veg/ veg & lentil soup ideas get blitzed in the book and no other fruits or veggies are recommended to be eaten as afters to make up for any losses in the liquifying stage.

    Todays meal plan is EE

b, melon and pineapple chunks in a bowl, 2 slices wm toast with the lightest smear of philly.
L, rice with, thin strips of pepper, spring onion, cherry toms, cucumber, celery with a balsamic vinegar drizzle.
T, quorn 'chicken' chunks stir fry. Strawbs and a mullerlight.

Think over the next few days i will introduce more syns into the actual meals instead of leaving for a treat at night as im not getting the hunger pangs or the need for anything more within a day, to do this though it means making my meals adaptable so that my son isnt comsuming the syns so he can still have his packet of crisps or a choc bar etc. So looking into maybe extra bits of cheese or milk?
