Well done to all those who have W'dI and had great losses.

Have had another hectic day today. My DS who wanted to join SW has been suffering from vertigo the past week or so and asked me to take him to gp today. After waiting an extra half hour to be seen was told he needs to drink more fluids theres nothing wrong with him - he drinks about 3 litres a day already! She hadn't got a clue about the SW plan and was asking what he was eating and why it wasnt classed as a diet?! Although pleased he has lost 19lb since june. Then had an afternoon of my husband being harassed on the phone by someone demanding money and a trip to police station  thats all in another thread:o

Anyway today managed to eat pretty well despite everything else.
B, Cafe 'fry up' - 1 sausage, 1 bacon, 1 egg, toms and 1 slice WM bread, meats are cooked on a griddle and eggs in a fancy george foreman type creation = all using a spray oil.
L, JP with tsp chilli philly followed by half a punnet of strawbs and half a punnet of rasps.
T, Steak dry fried fat removed, SW wedges covered in piri piri seasoning, onions, mushrooms and a steam fresh bag of veg.

Not having any treats tonight to allow for any syns used in the breakfast, i.e, sausage and the smearing of butter on toast. Also extra milk for coffee.
:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

Just out of interest gettingthere w hy did you reset your target?
Well done on the 1 lb.

    Ive remembered:o

    Thanks Beanie,
I reset it last week because I do feel I could do with losing a little more. Also, since I got my target in May I have been hovering under target by as much as 8 pounds at one point. A couple of weeks ago I was 4lb under and was basically told to either put on to stay within the 3 either way or pay again and reset my target, so that's what I did. :)
I found it very difficult after I reached target. As mentioned before there really is not much support for a maintaining member.
It was weeks and weeks before I got a booklet and that was because I mithered for one.
At no point did my consultant sit me down and explain how to go about the maintenance. So I was scared to eat more just in case I banged it all back on again.
It's all mind over matter and I for one will need to stay a member and get the support of the group at least for the foreseeable future.
I feel in control once again and for me at least I feel it's a good place to be :D

Total loss = 5 stone 12.5 lbs. / But now GAINED 1 STONE 1.5 LBS!!

    46 weeks!

    Well done Zippy!!

I've been out for a stomp around the town tonight - 2.6miles in just under 42mins; 477 calories burnt off - yeeha. My legs are aching but I feel good - I would just have sat on my backside for thse 42mins otherwise. I am going to have to invest in some tena lady if I will persist on attempting to jog for small bursts though :(

:oOh, Maman I didn't mean YOU were preachy - the consultants can get very preachy - as you said in your post - when they've been to training. So sorry for making you think that I meant you!! :o

No offence taken. I just feel I get on my soapbox over some things and it's so hard to get the nuance just right without eye contact.

Do you have a 'health walk' planned around your town or is it a tourist trail? Sounds interesting, if exhausting!

zippy, a bit like getting there I had little or no information about staying at target and found myself falling below more often than not and sometimes having to pay for the privilege:eek:.
I didn't want to set a lower target as I feared becoming scrawny. I wasn't particularly excited about having extra HEXs which, I think, is the official line. Bearing in mind I got to target by saving my syns for wine at weekends and eating fairly syn free all week: I tend to go flexi on any meals out, have reintroduced some 'banned' recipes like cauliflower cheese, dauphinoise potatoes, 'fatty' meats like lamb and pork and had more sauces generally with things, plus a few more take aways (chinese & indian) and the odd bar of chocolate or crisps and a desertspoon of syrup on my porage! All very 'naughty' but it works for me!

Tomorrow at WI I'm meant to have some sort of certificate for staying at target for a year. Hope I'm still within range. If not I'll be:o

waffle-on, you've had loads of great suggestions already for your buffet and I'm sure mm will be on in the morning with her fab, mouthwatering ideas for salads and things for hot weather meals. As an alternative, if the weather's not going to be too good where you are at the weekend I often do a hot meal for adult parties. Chilli or curry is good or a favourite here is a beef casserole. With plenty of veg in them and served with rice or new potatoes they make a filling meal. I put French sticks out for those who want bread but you don't need to eat that. Put out a huge bowl of strawberries and raspberries and a choice of cream or 0% yogurt for pudding. Obviously the dairy isn't suitable for your LO. If you need starters I do things like smoked salmon or prawns and leaves with dressing on the side. All this is a DIY buffet except for the main which we serve up in the kitchen cafeteria style and people go off and find somewhere to sit and eat.

Thanks for the offer of help, Mediterranean Mum. I have a few ideas so far:

    Bowl of mixed salad
New potatoes (dairy free marg on side)
DF mini sausage rolls (I can resist those!)
    Gammon joint - sliced

    Afters:
    Birthday cake
    Fresh fruit

Aside from this I'm struggling. I don't feel like I have enough savoury stuff.

Salads are the easy part and I suggest going for slightly different combinations. Last weekend I made a salad with leaves, avocado slices, fresh figs, homemade mini croutons, tomatoes and some crumbled feta cheese. I made a dressing with a grained Dijon mustard, 1 tblspn of light mayo, a tblspn of date honey, freshly ground sea salt and black pepper. You could also add some wafer thin slices of meat to this if you wanted.

Coleslaw is another one and you can make it more crunchy with shredded carrot, cabbage, fennel, spring onions - I dress this with a mixture of light mayo, mustard, sweetener, salt and freshly ground black pepper.

Salad nicoise - you can make this up as a large salad or sometimes I make a large round platter with all of the nicoise items separately so that people can make up their own combos. I use mustard in all of my dressings now as it gives the food a real kick. I also use balsamic and/or rice vinegar a lot.

Instead of sausage rolls why not try sausage skewers with pieces of sausage, SW roasted potato wedges, roasted red onion wedges and make a dip for it with balsamic vinegar, 1 tsp sweet chili sauce, 1 tblspn light mayo, salt and pepper.

Tuna dip with crudities - make the tuna dip with a tub of quark, a tin of well-drained tuna (in water), lots of very finely chopped spring onions and pickled cucumbers - mix it all together and add FF 1000 Island dressing if you can get it or a FF viniagrette with added mustard.

Make a platter of roasted vegetable wedges - red onions, beetroot, sweet potato, fennel, parsnips - drizzle them with balsamic vinegar, a little date honey if you can get it, a good amount of freshly ground black pepper and sea salt and spray with Frylight.

A platter of different cold meats. I don't know if you can get lots of low fat meats there but here we can get 1% meat selections and this makes a lovely platter on some mixed green leaves. You can overlap the various kinds of meats or roll them up.

Make potato salad using roasted SW baby potatoes with their skins on. Roast then cut into quarters, add sliced spring onions and make a dressing with mustard, low mayo, seasoning and a little rice vinegar to loosen.

For dessert make a fruit basket from a watermelon and add the cut up flesh of the water melon mixed with cut up regular melon and other fruit you fancy cut into similar sized pieces. I mix them all up gently in another bowl and add some date honey and sometimes a slug or two of vodka - then pile the whole lot into the watermelon basket

When it all looks nice and you're presenting them with different foods or a different take on the same food they don't even notice that it's healthy, low-fat.

    Good luck and enjoy

Lost 1.5 lbs at WI tonight. Tad annoying that I'm doing loads of exercise and people around me do none at all and still lose the same or more. What I will say though is that I think my body is getting more toned.

IIRC you don't have that much to lose do you? Could well be the reason, although saying that, 1.5lb is a great loss, and if you're getting more toned as well then all the better :)

    That's amazing, well done!

Well my week of breakfast mishaps is continuing - on Monday my milk container leaked all over my bag, yesterday I spilt weetabix down my front, and today a massive cloud of cinnamon fell into my porridge when I gently shook the container :( It was edible but a little strong - oh well, isn't it meant to be good for you metabolism?!

Didn't walk into work as planned because contrary to the forecast it was raining (poor excuse I know) and OH hadn't slept well and wasn't feeling too good- had headache and generally not been great since he hit his head at the weekend. Went to A&E and everything is ok but I didn't want to force him to walk. Anyway we're having a day out this weekend and going to do some walking so will make up for it then.

    EE today:
    B: Porridge (B), milk (A), banana
L: Lentil and bacon soup, ham sandwich (5), nectarine
    T: Lasagne (2.5 for cheese)
S: Shape yogurt, light choc mousse (3.5)

Have a good day everyone :)

    Wowee Shelliehollie, that's fantastic!! :j

Quote:Maman - Do you have a 'health walk' planned around your town or is it a tourist trail? Sounds interesting, if exhausting!

I tend to just walk a full route of our small town, it's pretty flat with one or two wee bumps and rises but the worst bit is the potholes in both the road and pavement.

The Endomondo tracker thing that I keep banging on about tracks your route by GPS so tells you exactly how far you've gone/duration/calories burnt. You can also go online and set routes you want to do and it will calculate the distance for you which is much better than guess work so I have mapped out 2.5, 3, 4, 4.5 and 5.5 mile routes and whenever I do one of them it will record the time taken so will push me to do a Personal Best the next time. I just think that after losing 3st+ I'm going to have to stop relying on SW food alone for weightloss to get the next 3st off so will need to factor in a bit of body magic. I re-read the body magic booklet last night and it reckons you can increase your weight loss by 1-2stones in a year by doing body magic as well as SW eating plan.
